Some Random Observations...

Just got back home last night after three days at DLR...and just thought I'd share a few things that are foremost in my mind.

Cleanliness: i have to say I saw more sanitation personnel than I have seen in years! Lots of staged personnel on restrooms, people sweeping and picking up trash, very very clean. Love that!

Ride personnel and Guest Services: Severely lacking in FL at rope drop, making it hard to get return times. I have had a DAS for several years but was declined last two trips. I don't wish to disclose my condition but its "on the spectrum". I rely on getting a lot of rides done before 10 am, now using LRT. When a CM is not available to do that (such as outside PP), it's disheartening. On the other hand, a CM at Alice who couldn't get her scanner to work just let me go right in the exit onto the ride. But it's the scattered randomness of not having the usual system working that is disconcerting to a person who is OC. I'm rambling but I hope others can understand. I am willing to go by the rules...just don't keep changing them LOL. I did buy LLMP one day (my non Star Wars nite day) but it really doesn't benefit me all that much because I don't ride a lot of the attractions that use it.

Crowds: not bad at all Tuesday, Wed, and Thursday. I went Friday AM as I had a late PM flight home and my gosh...you could barely move around by 11am. I could NOT believe the difference. Glad I was leaving.
Seemed that a lot of folks were still on spring/Easter break.

HM: not sure what all the hoopla was about with the new bride...i think I actually preferred the old one but I prefer the NBC version anyway.

Soarin over CA: always happy for a chance to enjoy this classic attraction, don't care as much for World.

Merchandise: I still long for the days when shops had different offerings and it wasn't all the same old stuff.
But I was able to find a Roo plushie at Pooh Corner (the only place that had it) and a Three Caballeros tee at the store in Frontierland. I was hoping they would have those purple 70th spirit jerseys out but they must be saving them until closer to the day. I didn't care for the tie dye ones, too muddy looking.

Still didn't do Tiana's yet, saving it for summer but just a warning...people were coming off there DRENCHED. I saw several people with clothes just sticking to them...but yet others seemed fine. Heard someone say "don't sit in back"...

Star Wars Night: i thoroughly enjoyed it again but please know that I am not a SW fan so really not invested in it. I took a few photos up on Main Street, was first in line for one of those. I go FOR THE RIDES AND SHOPPING. Most rides have no lines (nearly had a private submarine). This all relates back to my condition and it works perfect for me. The price is well worth it to me. I can shop in a leisurely fashion and chat with CMs. At pooh corner, the CM cashier nodded to my shirt and said "oh, you like Kylo Ren?"
No, I really just like Adam Driver, I replied and then they both fangirled and then we spent five minutes discussing Mr. Driver's attributes and talent. 🤣😂

WORST PART OF SW NITE: curious to know which Disney exec's kid is in the garage band that was playing on Tom Sawyer Island...THEY WERE HORRIBLE! So unnecessary, nothing to do with SW nite, just more noise. No one was dancing or anything, if that was the purpose. Most everyone was at ROA awaiting theCantina band float that came by every hour. Last year, it was beautiful along there, nice and quiet, a good place for some respite. Interestingly enough, I saw no mention of this on the blogs, in fact, most of them were just parroting Disney PR...i don't know, maybe that is what they always do, I dont follow any of them. But only LP said negative things, true thingsabout how unhappy people were opening night when the Skywalker projection didnt play. I thought the setup for character interactions was worse this year. TheDark Side was all up on the launch bay just trying to look menacing and there wasn't a Phasma/Stormtrooper parade like last year.

OK...enough babbling for now. As always, anytime at DL isa good time. CCI was perfect, and lots less homeless down on the Harbor/Katella corner. Heard the preacher one night but that was it.

Spring is in full force at the park...lost count of all the ducklings!

And here's a couple of pics...i know, its unlike me but I had to show off mySnowWhite outfit!

PS-I had to throw in the Darth Vader pic, the irony was toofunny!

I havent went this year but last year my biggest complaint was the music. How is it not just Star Wars music the whole night? Crazy to me and totally misses the mark on helping you feel immersed in Star Wars when its just random hip hop being played.

Cute outfit!!

Sounds like a good time overall! Sorry about the DAS glitches.

I know most Disneyland acronyms, but am lost on the following. Translations, please?

My bad, @irlandaise ...FL=Fantasyland, LRT=Location Return Time. This is an option to DAS (Disability Access Service) where you can ask for a time to come back to a ride (time is roughly equivalent to current standby time) without having to go through queue. Not all rides offer this but most in Fantasyland do.

I don't know if I can say the name of LP cause its another website but it used to be sung on old Splash Mountain that "everybody's got one" 😉. Tee hee hee....

I'll try not to be so slangy....😊

ADDED: CCI is Candy CaneInn where I have stayed for over 20 years, its like a second home to me. The people are so kind and warm from the landscapers to housekeepers to those at front desk and of course, dear James who now drives the trolley. I feel safe and secure while there.

I believe we were there this week at the same time! I echo your sentiments. It was my first SW Nite and I was only in it for the characters, but thought it was a little disjointed, for lack of a better word. I really enjoyed it, though. I’m glad you had a great week, and that picture of you with Vader is the absolute bomb 😂! Your dress is amazing too.

I’ve read all week that crowds were light and wait times were at their lowest point in months… but apparently lots of out-of-towners came in this weekend for spring break. TS parking lot is the lightest I’ve seen it this year and the park is jammed.

Pretty obvious it’s out-of-townwrs… tons of rented Mickey strollers vs. the Ford F2050 Mega Strollers locals bring in. Also, more ECVs were parking outside Fantastic that I’ve seen cumulatively the entire year.

Oh, thank you both! 'Twas so much fun, it really put me in a happy mood all day. Now I cant wait until June to wear my Sleeping Beauty outfit!

In the meantime, my DDIL is graduating med school in May and she and my son are off to Vermont where she will do her pathology residency. Exciting times for both of us, @DizMe as I know your girls are making big changes, too!

You know, I really had some wonderful encounters/chats with people this whole trip, seemed like people were happier and more open for the most part. That is encouraging...or maybe I am learning to ignore the ugly scenarios where the parent is yelling at the crying child...

My character interactions were great except for Dr. Strange...he needs to be a little more outgoing, doesnt really seem like he enjoys his job much. Finally met Sam Wilson, new Captain America, who was so charming and delightful...and it completed my Marvel book! Spiderman at the VISA Hero Encounter was also sweet and kind. I am really hoping they throw us a bone with some new activity in Avengers Campus this summer 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Thanks for the report and pictures. Your outfit is amazing!! Did you have any favorite snacks or rides or moments? Love the picture with Vader!

Thanks, @Pluto468! I don't eat at the park, i have too many dietary restrictions.

I did do a lot of rides I haven't done for ages like the riverboat and Casey Jr. train, the submarine (almost by myself), and the monorail. Also rode the horseless carriage down Main Street, that was a hoot.

I think my very favorite moment was beating all the kids I was riding Webslingers with (i was a single rider)...they all kinda side-eye ya when you get on like "oh great, the old lady is with us"...and I whipped them all ! "Wow, you're good at this..."
I just smile..."well I ride it a lot".😊

My kids would be impressed with your web slinging abilities! I can only hit like 3 spiders or whatever they are.

Sounds like a great trip and I love your dress. You look so cute!
