some questions concerning tickets

Could someone please tell me if it's possible to purchase a 7day hopper pass or 8 day hopper pass? It seems for that length of stay you either have to purchase a hopper plus or Ultimate hopper plus and we don't want all those extras. We just want to spend 7 or 8 days strictly in the parks. Also, I plan on booking the hotel myself on Disney property and was wondering if you can get a "length of stay ticket"-would it be cheaper and where would you purchase this-at hotel itself. We don't want to go through a travel agent for we feel we can do our vacation alot cheaper doing it ourselves. Thank you in advance.

If you plan to be in the parks 7 or 8 days, AND stay at a Disney operated hotel without using a dining add-on pkg you might want to look into annual passes. While the break even point for a new AP is like 9 or 10 park days, the available room discounts may make it an option for you, depending upon your individual situation.

How about checking on an annual pass? The break even point on these are 8 days and that way you could return within a year for another vacation!

There is only an 8 day ultimate park hopper, and only a 7 day park hopper plus.

So to answer your original question, no. Neither of those two exist. Sorry!

What type of "perks" do you get with purchasing an AP? Is it really cheaper to buy my whole family one or can just one of us purchase one to get the perks? Thanks again!

Probably the two biggest perks with APs are the room discounts and your get 10% off of your purchases at "World of Disney" at DTD. As mentioned, the "break-even" point for APs is 8 days. If you're planning on going to the parks for 8 days, then buy the AP.

The other "perk" about APs is that if you opt to return 11 months later, your tickets are already paid for.

UPH tickets are cheapest when purchased in advance as part of your reservation. However, if you're not planning on going to the parks on your arrival and/or your departure day they can "knock off" that day, or days, off of your UPH if you purchase them at the resort. You will pay more per day of use this way, but knocking off a day or two will more than make up for that.

Thanks for the info. Also, can you use your AP's for discounts at Disney restaurants and at stores withing the parks?

Would it be worth it to buy plain old 4 day park hopper passes, two for each person?

Well, here's the breakdown on the choices for adult passes:

2 advance purchase 4-day park hoppers = $215 each or $430

1 7 night/8 day ultimate park hopper advance purchase= $380

1 8 night/9 day ultimate park hopper advance purchase= $409

1 annual pass (not premium) = $404

per the Mousesavers site, all these prices include tax. So, you would actually be paying the highest price purchasing two 4 day park hoppers for each person. It looks like an annual pass would be the way to go if you want to return to the world in the next year, or want more than 8 park days. If you want any of the plus options though, and/or 8 or less park days in the next year, then you might get by slightly cheaper with the 7 night/8 day ultimate park hopper. You're kind of right on the borderline though between the annual pass and the ultimate park hopper, so it's up to you. It might be worth noting here, that the 7 day park hopper plus is advance purchase price of $337, which would be the cheapest choice of all, if you were thinking about only 7 days in the parks instead of 8, whether you used the plus options or not.
