Finally got to visit my alma mater for a football game this season (check my username). But first a visit to the memorial to the victims of the tragedy on campus this past April:

An engraved Hokie Stone for each of the victims, in the semicircle created by students with loose stones shortly after the incident occurred.

A moving tribute left by a classy FSU fan. I love the use of the abundant fall leaves in the area for the note. It was attached to flowers in FSU's colors.

Ow. This was shot from the stands at the opposite end of the field. Dummy me, I'd not switched from ISO 100 yet so it is a bit dark.

An attempt at panning. Not sure I like it here. Makes the QB look like he's standing still watching the game around him.

Thanks for sharing. The leaf is quite touching.

It's interesting to see how tragedy can sometimes bring rivals together. I remember when the Aggie bonfire collapsed, killing several students. Our bitter rivals, the Texas Longhorns, showed nothing but class in the time that followed.

It's interesting to see how tragedy can sometimes bring rivals together. I remember when the Aggie bonfire collapsed, killing several students. Our bitter rivals, the Texas Longhorns, showed nothing but class in the time that followed.

The local alumni chapter here in Raleigh, NC joined the local TAMU alumni chapter in a memorial service downtown and donated to the memorial fund. They turned around years later and did the same thing for us.

Just given you heck man.....I'm a Canes fan, don't pound us to bad this weekend. I was in Blacksburg 2 years ago when the Canes came to town and I must say that your campus is amazing. It is so beautiful.
