Salvete!!! Quid agis????? Scisne Latine????? lol!!! i'm assuming you don't speak latin and so these terms don't make sense to you. i said "Hello (in the plural form that means to more than 1 person)!!!!!!! How are you doing??? Do you know Latin??"

yes i'm learning latin, and i'll share some terminology with you (some of it very funny indeed):

Salve(te)!- Hello!
Vale(te)!- Farewell!
Quid agis?- How are you doing?
Quid annus est?- What year is it?
Illud esnte tuum?- Is that yours?
Non scio- I don't know
Quid edere possum?- What can I eat?
Intellego- I understand
Sic- Yes
Non- No
Fortasse- Maybe
Estne tutum?- Is it safe?
Scisne Latine?- do you know Latin?
Aliquisne domum est?- Is anybody home?
Quid tempus est?- What time is it?
Perio- I'm lost
Mea culpa- My fault

and now the fun ones:

Mei capilli sunt flagrantes- My hair is on fire.
Suntne vacci laeti?- Are your cows happy?
Si minor plus est ergo nihil sunt omnia- If less is more, then nothing is everything.
Meum cerebrum nocet- My brain hurts.
Vita contingit. Vive cum eo- Life happens. Live with it.
Tua toga suspina est- Your toga is backwards.
Tua toga suspina etiam est- Your toga is still backwards.
Age(te) apertum!- Do the obvious!

the words with (te) on the end are meant for one person without the te, and with it, you are talking to several people.

Kewl, I'd never learn that much even if i was learning a launguage for years.

btw, I have been studying spanish for like four years and got one word to sum up everything I learned "Hola"

Dancergirl, I took Latin for six years in school, so if you ever need help, let me know!

I was bad at school in latin (but I had a bad teacher who did not liked me so when I could I changed to study german) but that is fun how I remember things when I read your list ... Current languages are the best but it is cool to see ppl are still studying latin

LOL,your always silly.

No liber??? I love liber, it's so meaty. JK

I read liber all the time in that shadow children series by Margret Peterson Hadix.
:o

well,
WDWfan36- i have a sheet of common latin converstaion terms that i copied.... i've only been working for a week but i learned a lot of weird stuff (like there are 3 types of nouns other than person place and thing- first declension feminin (sp.?), second declension masculine, and second declension neuter..........)

DaraAllen- Thanks!!!! where i go to school you take latin for 3 yrs. (your jr. high years), you take an exam, and if you pass you can take intensive language, which is basically learning 1 whole language in a year. that means i have the crazy posibility of learning 4 languages before i graduate!!!! (talk about a good college app.)

GxBarbie- okay, um.... i just started but i think it's:

otium amor mandy (because mandy is mandy no matter where you go)

DaraAllen, let me know if that's the right form of peace, there are so many in the dictionary, but that's the most common one.........
