Some help with room arrangements. 5 people in our party

I have a reservation at POR for myself and my parents. There are 3 of us right now but I have learned that we will most likely be adding another 2 poeple to our party. This is great news but unfortunately it poses a problem with our room arrangements.

1 of the 2 people that will be joining us will only be staying for 4 of the 7 nights so after that, we will only have 4 people in our party which is enough for only 1 room.


Here is what I was thinking. I'm not sure if this is allowed but I dont understand why it would not be.

1. Add the 4th person to the original room reservation, so they can have a resort ID for all 7 nights, and then reserve another room for only 4 nights. During that time, the 4thperson can stay in the other room with the 5th person (to save space) and then when the 5th person leaves on day 4, the other person can come back.

Does this sound ok or would it be better to book a deluxe room at a Deluxe Resort for the whole trip. It seems like it would be cheaper the first way.

You are going to be paying $15 per person for each extra adult above 2. In my opinion, 4 adults is too much for 1 room with 1 bathroom. I would go for 2 rooms for the entire time, you could even request for them to be connecting.

I agree with DebbieB. I think the two rooms (and two bathrooms!) would be a much better idea. Two rooms at POR would probably still be cheaper than a deluxe room with a day bed. WL and AKL (two of the less expensive deluxes) do not offer day beds in the standard rooms.

If cost is a factor - your plans sound perfect.

If cost is not really a factor - than two rooms for the whole trip would be more comfortable but not totally neccessary.
