Some guest were really upset with not getting any housekeeping!

Light.

Our 4th Day was the only time they changed out our towels during a 6 night stay at BCV. They didn't ever restock the empty coffee or cups/plates, or go near the beds. If you call they seem happy to bring stuff quickly but you need to reach out first.
Did they stock toilet paper? I had to call twice for TP. They only put one roll in the bathroom. The second time I called they asked me how many rolls I needed...like I can predict everyone's future bowel movements. It was annoying, to say the least.

Covid is the CAUSE for a lot of changes. People are forewarned about the changes at the parks and resorts. If you don't want to pay for less housekeeping than don't. Stay home and enjoy a clean dry towel everyday.
The changes they advertise are light housekeeping every other day. The problem is a lot of people aren't getting that.

Thank you...it's as if ppl. aren't reading the action original post. This thread is about someone saying they received NO service of any kind for a weeks stay. - That's an issue. Obviously we have no idea if it's true or not, but that's what the thread is about. Everyone just keeps arguing/commenting about how they do/don't want any service, but that's not what it's about. I guess on the flip side it is a way to keep going back and forth since there's no addressing the actual issue lol.

I’m just gonna jump in and say that we own 4 rental homes. You would be shocked at the messes people leave. I’ve walked in and after a guest was there for 2 days looks like a bomb went off. Lots of people don’t take care of a rental homes or hotel room it’s super disrespectful in my opinion. I also owned a housecleaning company for 5 years in Florida. Same thing people were soooo messy. I actually find it funny that people can be so sloppy. But a lot of people are. So I definitely think a lot of people need daily housekeeping. I personally don’t need it at all. I prefer to not have it we usually put the DND sign out.

That’s on them. I can’t imagine accepting no housekeeping for a week, if you’re supposed to get it every other day, and it bugs you.

They shouldn’t be ranting about it in the laundry room......they should go to the front desk and inquire/complain.

Yes. Disney should do what they’re supposed to do, but if they don’t, and it bothers people, they should call them out.

I read the orginal post as an overheard, 2nd hand gossip, in a laundry room. The only solution to getting no housekeeping is call housekeeping or talk to the manager of the resort. Complaining why doing laundry don't get it done.

Okay, real talk about bath mats and bath mat towels....

Does anyone dry their feet with their towel before stepping onto the bath mat or bath mat towel? I know it's job is to absorb any water on my feet, but for as long as I can remember I have always needed to dry off my feet before stepping out the shower. Or is this just weird? 👀

I suspect it may have been a misunderstanding about what "light housekeeping" means. Disney basically means emptying garbage and new towels (if old towels were on the floor; if hung up they don't replace them). No making beds, no tidying up, no sweeping or vacuum. We were there over a week and really wanted new sheets. They brought the sheets when we called but we had to change them ourselves. So yeah, I could see how if they were expecting normal housekeeping every other day they'd be annoyed.

We're staying another week in March and our "trick" to get around this is to do a split stay so we can have a clean room midway through our trip :)

You only get a full cleaning service with DVC stays if your trip is 8 nights or longer. You would have received a full cleaning on day 4 if that were the case.

1 & 2 was done on Day 4. 3 & 5 was not restocked. 4 still had enough for the time being. Wasn't a big deal but felt like a light version. I kinda just assumed they're trying to limit exposure for both staff and guests by getting in and out quickly, then if guests need anything they can call and get those supplies handed at the door.

For stays of 7 nights or fewer, Trash & Towel Service is provided on Day 4. Your check-in day is Day 1. With Trash & Towel Service, Housekeeping will:
  1. Empty trash and replace liners in trash bins
  2. Provide fresh bathroom linens
  3. Replace bath amenities as needed
  4. Replenish facial tissues, paper towels and toilet paper
  5. Replenish coffee, sugar, cream and sweeteners

HA! We brought our OWN toilet paper - the scratchy stuff they provide is too rough on my delicate behind!

:rotfl2:

I swear I am doing this next time. When we drive I bring EVERYTHING.
I feel like before COVID the TP was "fine" - we stay at Deluxe and had no issues and then we went this past October, and the first time staying at BLT, and it was so scratchy!

So when we came back in October DH requested that we bring our own and it fit nicely in his suitcase - and since we didn't bring any home, we had extra room in the suitcase for treats we'd bought!

Now we're going back in 2 weeks and I have the TP ready to go!

We also could have "spoiled back ends" as DH requests/requires/needs or he gets whiney to have Charmin Extra soft TP, so that could be where the complaints originated but it was OK with me to bring our own since his "high maintenance needs" have rubbed off on my own hiney!

:rotfl2: :rolleyes1 :rolleyes2

This!!

Also, given that it is based on hearsay and NOT the OP's personal experience, I'd be surprised if the full thing is they were in fact getting what is advertised, but because they weren't getting towels every day and their bed made they thought they weren't getting any. I strongly suspect that some people see the "every other day" and miss the "light housekeeping"...or don't read what "light housekeeping" entails. OR they check the box for none and didn't realize what that meant/thought it meant to opt into full housekeeping (though where they got that idea I have no clue).

The stuff in the resorts doesn't bother me too much, but the TP in the parks is AWFUL. It's like half ply.

I think if a poll was made asking the DVC crowd what already stocked items people still bring their own, toilet paper would come out ahead of coffee and toiletries combined. Lol, it's an important way to start the day :)
