Some DVC members are deluded

There were people on Facebook having an absolute hissy because Disney is not mailing every member a 25th anniversary button.

I appreciate the tote bag they gave me (and the gift card) but really, the freebies should probably not be a driving force in purchasing.

Such a kind, compassionate coworker you are to talk about a family's personal affairs (that they trusted to share with you) in that manner. They'll learn to keep to themselves when they hear the manner in which you speak of them. Then they'll be "THAT family" that keeps to themselves. :chat:
Old school values are gone. When younger generations don't understand the point to this post, it is because they don't understand the repercussions of such actions, hence the decline of kind values.

I don't agree, I'm well versed in old school values and I think the post in reference is very appropriate and not unreasonable. Had there been identifying data, then a portion of the post would have been at question, namely the last sentence only and I can see disagreeing with that commentary though I don't think it sinks to the level of gossip which is the reference I assume.

Would they repeat the comment to the co-worker, to their face? If not, don't say it... that simple.

If they were identifying them, I MIGHT agree on the last sentence but they're not. I could certainly see commenting on the issue to a coworker that they should have understood what they were buying if it came up for discussion.

Agreed-- How vague would be acceptable? I know someone who purchased... and thought... and they were wrong.. and I think they will sell soon...Vague enough? or can I say their gender? or how I know them? Just a transfer on info to a completely separated group.... Not like calling someone or an entire age group of people un kind on a message board.

?... Hey-- my co worker made a poor decision based on not knowing the product---- and now...? they are going to lose their job? They are going to go into financial ruin because of my comment? What are the repercussions? And since I don't know what the repercussions are, how does that contribute to the decline of my kind values? I'm confused.

Free dining requires a full price room. Have you looked at the rack rates for DVC rooms? A studio at BWV is $466 in early September. Pay that plus a ticket purchase and you can get free dining. The same standard view room is 10 points weekdays or 13 points weekends. Even if you use the rental price of $13 a point, that's only $130/$169 a night. So you are looking at about a 65% discount. That deserves free dining too?
So well put and so simply put. I think the moderators ought to set this up to auto post whenever someone posts the ridiculous assumption about freed dining.
