Warning: Some of these questions are pretty dumbo...just a heads up! :rotfl2:

1) Is Paradise Pier only accessible from the side near Mul. Madness, or can I get to it from the other side of the lake as well? I am trying to figure out the fastest route to Cali screamin' after a ride on Tower.

2) Are the bumber cars in the Bug's Land area more for kids, or are they 'traditional' bumper cars?

3) What is the best counter service place for lunch? We are considering the Pacific Wharf cafe..... (We will be having dinner at Wine Country Trattoria)

4) Is Mul. Madness just like Primeval Whirl at AK, but without the spinning? The track looks pretty darn similar! Just trying to see if it worth throwing it into the plan.

5) Where can I grab a churro at DCA?

6) It's an early August day..mid week...early afternoon.... How bad (wait wise) will the single rider lines be? (DH and I are using Ridemax to plan our day there, which has provided us with a couple hours of free time and we may want to do some repeat rides..but single rider so we can get more in)

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3: :dance3:

You can get to it from both sides of the lake.

2) Are the bumber cars in the Bug's Land area more for kids, or are they 'traditional' bumper cars?

I can't answer this one as we've never ridden them.

3) What is the best counter service place for lunch? We are considering the Pacific Wharf cafe..... (We will be having dinner at Wine Country Trattoria)

We really like the Mission taco stand in the wharf area. Don't forget to stop into the Mission tortilla factory for a warm, freshly made tortilla!

4) Is Mul. Madness just like Primeval Whirl at AK, but without the spinning? The track looks pretty darn similar! Just trying to see if it worth throwing it into the plan.

Yes, the track is just about the same. It is a traditional mouse coaster. Parks tend to buy the track form so they are all, basically, the same.

5) Where can I grab a churro at DCA?

You will have no problem finding a churro. There are carts all over the park!

6) It's an early August day..mid week...early afternoon.... How bad (wait wise) will the single rider lines be? (DH and I are using Ridemax to plan our day there, which has provided us with a couple hours of free time and we may want to do some repeat rides..but single rider so we can get more in)

Can't help with this one either.

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3: :dance3:

Have a great time!

Yes you can access it by walking towards Ariels restaurant, pass it and loop around.

2) Are the bumber cars in the Bug's Land area more for kids, or are they 'traditional' bumper cars?

Have not ridden - looked really small

3) What is the best counter service place for lunch? We are considering the Pacific Wharf cafe..... (We will be having dinner at Wine Country Trattoria)

Taste Pilot Grill (sp?) near Soarin serves up good food.

4) Is Mul. Madness just like Primeval Whirl at AK, but without the spinning? The track looks pretty darn similar! Just trying to see if it worth throwing it into the plan.

Not worth a line - very similiar to other Mouse type roller coasters in any amusement park

5) Where can I grab a churro at DCA?

Mid week is normally decent for lines. Have not been since Toy Story Midway opened though.....

Enjoy

Bug's Land bumper cars are well, not really bumper cars. They don't really go fast enough to bump into anything. It's more of a gentle rub against another car. This ride, in my opinion, is the worst ride in DCA.

Best counter service would be Whitewater Snacks in the GCH. You can go through the GCH entrance across from GRR and it's just on your left. It's a incredibly quiet and nice reprieve from the parks and great food at awesome prices.

From what I can tell, MM is just like Primevil Whirl without the spinning. I believe the tracks are identical.

I know there is a churro cart right near the GRR back trail by the Redwood Creek Challenge area.

Single rider is better on some rides than others. I have always had great luck with Screamin, MM and GRR. TSM should be working well at that point too. Soarin can still have a bit of a wait in the single rider que.

Well, I wouldn't say the bumper cars are the worst ride in DCA, but they are not adult bumper cars at all. It's a kiddie ride. DD loves it.

We did Mulholland Madness with a fast pass, and were very happy we didn't spend any time in line for it. It's just a basic you-can-do-it-anywhere ride. We love Primeval Whirl at AK -- PW has both the spinning and much better theming to entertain you between spins.

Dangermouse-(or someone else who knows), can anyone use that GCH entrance off of CA? I didn't realize that it was accessible to non-guests. That would be great to have Whitewater snacks so easy to get to.

This ride, in my opinion, is the worst ride in DCA.

I agree. Though I haven't been on everything at DCA (and I don't plan to go on the few I have left). :)

It's made for children, but the children who love it can't ride alone, and can't push the pedal down. So it's up to adults to squeeze in and drive while the small children enjoy it. I'm only 5'3" and I end up with cramps in my legs from pushing down that pedal all squeezed into the seat!

Hubby can't do it at all, he's built like a sumo wrestler and can barely fit in the car, let alone have the lap bar down enough so DS can SEE when riding together, LOL.

Yes, you can. In the very early mornings, non-guests aren't supposed to go into DCA through that entrance, but I've read and been told by CMs that if you have eaten at GCH you can certainly go in. No one has EVER scrutinized anything leaving DCA, and when we've come back, they knew we were going to eat, and welcomed us back with no issues.

1) Is Paradise Pier only accessible from the side near Mul. Madness, or can I get to it from the other side of the lake as well? I am trying to figure out the fastest route to Cali screamin' after a ride on Tower.
What is unfortunate is that Tower of Terror is all the way across the park from Califorina Screamin'. They're my favorite rides so I do the walk between a lot! Basically go through Hollywood and then take the path to the left of the center plaza, and you should get to the Wharf area and there is a big bridge by Ariel's Grotto that you take.
It takes forever no matter what way you go!

Definitely ride the Maliboomer if it's still open.
It's another of my favorites, but they're getting rid of it soon.:sad2:
The line is generally very short too.

2) Are the bumber cars in the Bug's Land area more for kids, or are they 'traditional' bumper cars?
I've really only seen kids on it and as said before, the cars are small and very slow. Not something adults would be too interested in.
You guys should ride the Orange Zinger instead, it's a lot of fun and there's never a line. It's basically a big set of carnival type swings but it's nice. A Bug's Land is a kiddie area, but it's worth visiting to see all the characters.

4) Is Mul. Madness just like Primeval Whirl at AK, but without the spinning? The track looks pretty darn similar! Just trying to see if it worth throwing it into the plan.
I actually love Mulholland Madness. It's pretty similar in the track to Primeval Whirl, but it has a bunch of cute cars instead of those big round spinners. It does some pretty tight turns at the top and then has some surprisingly big drops, it's a lot of fun! All the friends I have ridden with (adults) scream when we do the turning at the top because it feels like you're "going to fall out" haha. It's surprisingly fun for the older crowd.
You should go at least once! For a mouse coaster it's wonderful.

I would definitely give Primeval Whirl the tip over Mulholland Madness even though I think MM is fun at night when you feel you are going over the side.

PW you kinda fall into after riding Dino, MM we usually walk over to ride if the line is OK.

Disney got alot of flak for using these "prefab" rides in their parks as they are the type of thing that you would typically see in parks that are not Disney parks. That said, with some more theming I think they can get away with it as long as they only do a couple. I'm hoping the upcoming re theme yields some more Disneyesque details that will bring it up to Disney spec.

Wow such great advice from ALL of you! THANKS DIS PALS!

I think we are going to skip the bumper cars. Only do MM if there is a short short line. We were already planning to do Maliboomer and the Stinger, so just hoping for short lines. Also I love the Maliboomer type ride, so may add a few single rides in too.

Will def. look into maybe dining at the Whitewater snacks. I remember reading that many of you raved about it, yet I completely forgot about it! Don;t worry, I will stop for a tortilla too. I grew up in Cali, and I sure miss the hot freshly made tortillas.....especially the ones in Old Town San Diego. Yum.

I guess I am mostly excited about Cali Screamin and Grizzly. The latter ride especially because while I like Kali rapids at AK, I always feel it is too short. I heard the Grizzly is longer etc... And I love Tower, so being able to ride it some more this year sounds perfect!

Of the utmost concern, I am all set on my churro! Churros are most important....beside the Dole Whip and Tigger Tail!

Thanks again everyone...now back to my Ridemax plans. I think I have the ultimate plans for my upcoming trip. Woot! :cheer2:

1) Is Paradise Pier only accessible from the side near Mul. Madness, or can I get to it from the other side of the lake as well? I am trying to figure out the fastest route to Cali screamin' after a ride on Tower.

The fastest way to get to Cali Screamin' would be the left side by Pacific Warf and past Ariel's Grotto.

2) Are the bumber cars in the Bug's Land area more for kids, or are they 'traditional' bumper cars?

Since it's in A Bug's Land, it's geared towards little kids. But I did ride it once bc there weren't any lines. It was really slow and you can only ride counter clockwise. It was funny though bc my car was bumped by some little kid and my friend that was w/ me kept eying him.

3) What is the best counter service place for lunch? We are considering the Pacific Wharf cafe..... (We will be having dinner at Wine Country Trattoria)

Pacific Warf is a great place for chowder, but of course it depends where you are when you decide to eat lunch. Award Weiners (chili dogs) is good if you're in Hollywood Backlot, Taste Pilots Grill (burgers) in Condor Flats, or Corndog Castle (corndogs) in Paradise Pier.

4) Is Mul. Madness just like Primeval Whirl at AK, but without the spinning? The track looks pretty darn similar! Just trying to see if it worth throwing it into the plan.

Yeah, even though it doesn't spin I still think it's fun and it's one of my favorite rides there. You can usually find short lines in the morning or at night, or just get a fastpass.

5) Where can I grab a churro at DCA?

There's many places to grab a churro. One is in the Sunshine Plaza when you enter the park's front enterance, in Hollywood Backlot by the Hyperion Theater, and one in the Golden State near the Redwood Creek Challenge and the bathrooms. I'm sure that there's more, but those are the only ones I remember.

6) It's an early August day..mid week...early afternoon.... How bad (wait wise) will the single rider lines be? (DH and I are using Ridemax to plan our day there, which has provided us with a couple hours of free time and we may want to do some repeat rides..but single rider so we can get more in)

The wait shouldn't be bad at all. The only minor waits would be for Soarin' and Cali' but it should still be good.

I guess I am mostly excited about Cali Screamin and Grizzly. The latter ride especially because while I like Kali rapids at AK, I always feel it is too short. I heard the Grizzly is longer etc... And I love Tower, so being able to ride it some more this year sounds perfect!

Grizzly is so much better than Kali Rapids, much longer and some good little surprises. We were amazed at how short KR is, even when we came back into the station the CM was like, "You wanna go a few times?" KR doesn't have the small drops like GRR... you will love it as it is one of the best attractions at DCA.

Yes, a Tigger Tail and a Dole Whip simultaneously!

It looks like most of your questions were answered, but I just wanted to toss in, even if you don't ride the bumper cars, go watch and listen one time. You can hear Tuck and Roll speaking Hungarian. Same with Heimlich's Chew Chew train. The ride itself is babyish, but listening to Heimlich's narration is pretty hysterical.
The best thing about Taste Pilot's Grill is you can make the "redneck salad." They have lots of toppings for the burgers - yummy.
We like Pacific Wharf, Cocina, and also Pizza Oom Mow Mow. They have a peanut butter pizza on the kids menu (well, I hope they still have it) that is fun and tasty. They have never given me a hard time for ordering it without my kids in tow.
Have fun! We're headed down this Saturday, and I feel :hyper: .

1) Is Paradise Pier only accessible from the side near Mul. Madness, or can I get to it from the other side of the lake as well? I am trying to figure out the fastest route to Cali screamin' after a ride on Tower.
No, Paradise Peir is Accessable from THthLeft And Right of the lake. The left has a slight curved ramp and the right has a longer walk to but features most of the rides from this land.
2) Are the bumber cars in the Bug's Land area more for kids, or are they 'traditional' bumper cars?
They are definately for little children because they move SUPER slow.
3) What is the best counter service place for lunch? We are considering the Pacific Wharf cafe..... (We will be having dinner at Wine Country Trattoria)
Pizza Oom Mow Mow Without A Doubt. A tad expensive (as to be expected), but has wonderful pizza and other Italian based food with a Claifornian Twist. I would reccomend The Barbaque Chicken Pizza or Linguini.
4) Is Mul. Madness just like Primeval Whirl at AK, but without the spinning? The track looks pretty darn similar! Just trying to see if it worth throwing it into the plan.
Its very similar except its a "wild mouse" type car. Its A GREAT family Roller coaster to go on. Either Fast Pass it or single rider because the line gets quite long at points. But at night its very short (especially during the Electrical Parade, Another Must See). I would definately iclude this because it is unique with the perfect blend of thrill and fun.
5) Where can I grab a churro at DCA?
There everywhere, its pretty much identicle to Dianyland on that matter.
6) It's an early August day..mid week...early afternoon.... How bad (wait wise) will the single rider lines be? (DH and I are using Ridemax to plan our day there, which has provided us with a couple hours of free time and we may want to do some repeat rides..but single rider so we can get more in)
There isnt very many people in the lines for California Screamin, but there is rarely times where there is a missing seat, so that may not be to smart. Mulhulland Madness has four person cars so the single person line moves very fast. Also the regualr tower of terror line moves VERY fast (No SR). Even though it may say a forty minute wait, its more like ten or fifteen minute, so that would be a wise ride to go on when you got a little extra time. There are many rides to get on very quickly there including Maliboomer, Golden Zephr, And The Orange Stinger. These are great rides to jump on when youve got extra times. THere not to short and super fun. Hope I helped. :)

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3: :dance3:

Hope My Answers Help!

Yeah, I would say skip the bumper cars... but do ride Heimlich's (sp?) Chew Train! That is a fun one! A kiddie ride for sure, but I loved it:)

And make sure you raise your hands and squeal with glee as you are coming around that last corner. . . . it's a doozie! ;) :dance3:

Excellent. :goodvibes

With Pacific Wharf Cafe, by the way, I highly recommend you go before or after the normal lunch time. The line can get brutal at noon.

If you decide to try out Pizza Oom Mow Mow, know that not everyone thinks their food is a taste sensation. It's actually pretty bad, IMO, and when we went there, we went against all the reviewers' suggestions. Thought "oh it can't be that bad" but ohhhhh, it was.

In case you feel like a little snack, the Cove Bar is really nice. It's not open all the time, but you can see if it is open as you walk from TOT to Screamin'. I forget if you'll have kids with you, but if you do, just don't sit at the bar itself. :)

i hate WDWs pizza and only conceded to try the Pizza OM, etc. because DS was clamoring for it during recent trip...was pleasantly surprised:) with my pineapple/ham version & DH (non-pizza eater) was able to grab mcDs

Not that you asked, but when you get tired and want to rest, go to see Turtle Talk with Crush.

Love it every time!

MM creeps me out every time I ride on it. I don't know why I do it nearly every trip, it seriously feels like you are going to go right off the side of the track.

And the Ferris Wheel is deceptive! If you go on one of the cages that are not stationary :scared1:

BTW - Somebody said the maliboomer is going away! I love that ride!!!
