Solo Travelers

For all of you who have done Disney solo before, do you ever run into a problem having someone take your picture with the characters? I am just curious. I sure hope not, I guess when you see them outside, they usually have a handler with them,so you could ask them, I am more concerned about when the characters come around and you are at a character dining plan, I have booked CP, Liberty Tree and Garden Grill, if you have done any of these I am just curious as to how it is, any help is greatly appreciated. I've never had a problem. I just as their greeter to take a picture for me; they're always more than willing.

Those three are my favorite character meals, which I have done many, many times on a regular basis, both solo and with others.

The greeter/handler will gladly shoot your photo (with your camera) if they are around, but they are not always with every character in the restaurants. They tend to roam and keep an eye on all of them. Your server will be happy to photograph you when he is at your table. If no Cast Member is in the vicinity, someone at the table next to you will usually not mind helping you out at all, especially if you volunteer to get a shot of all of them as a group with their camera in return.

The biggest surprise for me was on one solo visit to Garden Grill. Mickey volunteered to photograph me with Chip, using my digital camera that had large buttons and a big LED display so no need to look through a viewfinder. I was amazed, but the shot actually turned out great! Nowadays I usually carry a very small digital camera that Mickey's glove would not be able to handle.
