solo to mousefest 2008

I too have been contemplating a solo trip for the beginning of Dec., and this seems like the perfect time! I called and made a couple of ADRs for myself just in case I can convince my husband that it is a good idea--I have enough points and things from my credit cards that I could go for 4 nights including airfare and it would cost nothing! Just have to sell him on the staying behind with 4 kids!

Tell him it could be your Christmas gift. All grown girls need a break from the family:lovestruc We love them but need a little "ME" time..:wizard:

That's exactly what I am doing! I also won some money at bingo which I put aside for spending!

This coming December I will attending Mousefest for the first time, and I am going solo. Does anyone have anything to share about going to Mousefest alone? pixiedust:
Thanks

Hello neighbor,
Last year was my first mousefest, and meet with new Disfriends, all solo.
Got in late on the first day, and seemed to miss everyone at AK, second day chickened out at MGM, but did meet up with people on the third day at MK, and had a blast.

I jut booked Dec with and AP for this year, but still need a flight.
Mousefest's main event was fun, lots to do and lots of nice people to meet.

I have been thinking of a solo trip to Disney this year. My friends at work think I'm nuts for traveling by myself. Just signed up for the Mousefest newsletter so will make my decision soon. Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated!!

Get new friends!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously, lots of my friends and family think I'm nuts to go to WDW at all - they think it's for kids. But after a while, they accept it.

Explain to your kids how much fun it is to go on any vacation without the hassle of spouse, kids, or tagalong buddies second-guessing any decision you make, speeding up or slowing down your touring style, or forcing you to do things you don't like. When you're solo, you ride what you want, eat where you want, sit where you want, sleep as late as you want, and don't have to worry about anyone elses schedule, preferences, or limitations.

It's complete freedom!

It's the ultimate ME trip, & I can't wait to see what it is all about:hippie:
I totally love my DH, This is my first trip in 34 years without him. I am looking forward to it.
It will be fun to see other solo's & people from the different groups too.

I just changed my resort from CB to FQ. If anyone is staying at FQ and wants to meet up for an evening beverage drop me a line!

I'll be going to MouseFest again this year (my 3rd time). I think it'll be a solo trip, but it never feels like I'm alone at MouseFest! Not even the first time I went. There are SO many people to have fun with and everyone is so nice and welcoming.

I'm co-hosting a meet this year. If you like taking photos (and don't mind getting up at the crack of dawn!), join us for a photowalk around around Crescent Lake at the Boardwalk. Here's a link with more info.

Hi Barrie!!!! Looking forward to that walk! Maybe next year we can do at another location? I have a thought or two already :)

Hi, Im Lisa and Im 30. I will be going to disney Dec 2nd-the 6th 2008. I will be going all alone and hope I will have fun. It will be my birthday that week.
I wish I could meet folks some time while Im there. I will be at the Crystal palace on the 3rd at 12;55pm.

I'll be up there from Dec 11 to Dec 15 solo...I do the unofficial 'fringe' Mousefest visit, and this'll be my third time. I have never registered for Mousefest or gone to the main Saturday event...but I thoroughly enjoy tagging along for some of the photo walks and other gatherings that are open, and love traveling solo at that time of year. I actually go to Disney 2-3 times a year solo, and another 2-3 times a year with family and/or friends. It's nice to experience Disney both ways - with a group of family sharing and enjoying, but having to try to be more organzied and mixing everyone's preferences together for an all-purpose compromise that works best for all...and then on your own, where the only schedules, desires, rides, foods, events, or timing that has to be adhered to is your own. As Willcad said, it's total and complete freedom. Sometimes, I even have friends or family who WANT to come with me, and I tell them "sorry...this trip's SOLO ONLY!".

I'm usually following around Tim Devine's photo walks when they're scheduled, and maybe a gathering here or there - and the rest of the time during Mousefest, just relax and take things at my own pace. So maybe I'll bump into some from this thread too!

That's the way I do Mousefest, enjoy a Mousefest event here and there.:earsboy:

I do some of the same too, I will register this year..... definitely more fun this year vs last year ;)
