So I am going solo this year and right now it looks like its going to be a 9 or 10 day trip staying at POP. So I am going to indulge my foodie love and do 3 to 4 ADR's a day this trip*wich will be a adventure all in its self, but i am playing a bunch of golf to:cool1:) So when makeing single person ADR's is it tough??, do you get weird looks when by your self?. Its funny in the past when i have gone with my DS, i never even gave a look for solo dininers. So any help would be great

Your problem is not going to be the weird looks, it's going to be the sheer time involved in eating 4 adr meals a day!

I often eat table service alone - if not at a 'table' then at the bar - admiral's cup is a good one, and also the Yak & Yeti in AK. Many of the bars next to a restaurant will serve food - it's worth inquiring. I've eaten alone at Boma, Jiko, Sanaa, Yake & Yeti, the wave, tony's, Plaza, the Castle (before prepay, when lunch was a la carte), Le Cellier, Chef's de France, Kona Cafe, and I forget where else.

Why not concentrate on places that seat you family style?

Biergarten, Tappen Edo-- any place that sits you at a table of 8 or so, so you're not dining alone?

Well trying to eat at 4 places are going to be tough i admit:confused3,so its kind of a adventure. On top of that in those 10 days i plan on playing golf 4 times at least. So there will be some late night Dinniers!!:cool1: Ya there will be some down time with fitting those ADr in,but i am by my self i have no schedule to go by. The restraunts at WDW i treat as a event in its self.

If you want to eat 3 sit down meals a day you should go ahead and buy the Deluxe dining plan. You get 3 TS meal credits, 2 snacks and a refillable resort drink mug for around $85 a day.

If you end up eating a 4th meal in one day then you can just pay out of pocket or use up your meal credits as you go then you will have some OOP meals to pay for on your last day or two.

But with 2 snack credits a day I wouldn't imagine needing 4 sit down meals in one day.

You can use snack credits for things like the GIGANTIC Cinnamon roll at Main Street Bakery in MK or the Ham and Cheese Croissant in the France bakery in Epcot. It also is HUGE and just a snack credit.

If you stay at POR then you would have a counter service food court, which is the best on property, and you would have a sit down restaurant at your resort, Boatwrights. Boatwrights doesn't serve breakfast anymore but you can pay out of pocket for a counter service breakfast for 7 or 8 dollars unless you have ADRs for breakfasts too.

Its not about eatting full meals, I do not think I could walk after words LOL:rotfl2:. Its about trying diffrent Items, mabe its a full meal, maybe its soups, salads apptizers?. I did the DxDP last sept, and i am still thinking about it but it limts the places you can go to in downtown disney,i want to goto T rex, house of blues and rainforest cafe. I am not going to worry if i eat 3 or 4 meals a day. Its about haveing fun with it, i eat it all or a little its trying my favorites and trying new things, stopping and takeing in the the atmosphere and enjoying it:goodvibes

I would eat the bar in any restaurant--and there are many at WDW--where you can get a full meal at the bar.

Because you are not getting full meals, maybe you don't need the reservations? Especially being a solo diner. As a foodie myself ( and a cook) i would just walk from place to place and if i see something i like, i get it. It doesnt matter the time of day or if i am hungry or not. That's just how it is. Not having a strict schedule means you can eat anywhere you want at anytime. Before the big rush or after, so you should always be able to get a table or a spot at the bar. But reservations wont be a bad idea at certain restaurants. I am going solo in 2 weeks and the only reservations ill make are for Bluezoo and Bistro de Paris ( both for their tasting menus).

I like the idea of walking and just choeseing where ever, and got me thinking, appstizer at one place the meal at another and dessert yet somewhere else!!:cool1:,then i can try many places, many of many times!. I will still make resv for the buffets!!. I am not going to use the DDP, becuase I want to goto the other places that dont except DDP, also i want to try places outside of WDW,like at US and maybe seaworld with dinning in the shark tank??. Oh all the choices and only ten days to do it??. Also since I will be golfing, and double rounds some days has any one eatten at at green resort by Magnoila golf course, or the place at Ospery ridge?

If you're making reservations and can't get an ADR for one, be sure to try for a seating for two - I have found that those are often easier to come by.

(But if it's a credit card reservation place, be sure to call ahead and let them know ahead of time it's just for one - otherwise you run the risk of the no-show charge. They may not be able in some cases to change the actual reservation, but if there's a note that there will be only one, you should be fine.)
