I did my ADR's the other day and all were fine for 1 except Ohana which seemed to never have anything available if you search for a table for one but worked fine if searching for 2 so I just booked it, will I need to notify them before that it will just be for one person or fine just to turn up by myself?

I personally would just go....suppose your partner or friend who was supposed to go....got sick. Just my opinion.

Just show up for your reservation. You will be seated at a 2 top anyway. As long as one person shows, there is no cancellation fee. Just advise when checking in that "it is one tonight." 'Nuff said. ps many solo diners book for 2 rather than 1 as most disney restaurants do not grant good dining times for one. Unless you are one of the few who really enjoy eating at 9 pm :-)

I do this all the time, book for two, show up solo. I figure-maybe I'll meet my new BFF on the way over and want to invite them to share a meal-or maybe my DH will surprise me and show up. But neither has happened, so I show up solo. I just say "My husband [or friend] had to work." Sometimes the CM says something like "They don't know what they're missing!" but usually just, "Oh, That's OK". It's never a problem.

Seconded. On my solo trip last year, I booked all my ADRs for a Party of 2... Just in case. It's always easier to show up missing a person than it is to try and add somebody later. But I did end up going to each one by myself, and it was never any issue at all. :thumbsup2

If this can be of any help, I did a solo 18 days WDW vacation in Feb 2015 and dined at many of the sit-down restaurants by myself including- California Grill, Be Our Guest, Yak & Yeti, Coral Reef and Hoop-Dee-Doo. I understand that there isn't a character dining at any of my experiences but I thought Hoop-Dee-Doo would be the closest "awkward" feeling to Ohana being that everyone is surrounded by friends or family and you're smack alone in the middle of the large floor. The cast members are usually very understanding and don't probe about why you're alone. I find that the only real hurdle is to overcome that psychological thinking of being alone in a place where people normally want to enjoy with friends or family, other than that, go have a good time!

Funnily enough, yesterday I was searching for a breakfast ADR for Ohana for a party of 1, and got nothing. When I changed it to party of 2, it popped right up with the time I wanted. Made me wonder if some restaurants in particular are glitchy with searching for solo reservations? :confused3 Who knows! So anyhow, I grabbed the ADR for the Party of 2 (even though I'll be solo) and am looking forward to my first time doing breakfast there! :cutie:

I had the same problem yesterday trying to boom Ohana. I called the Disney and they were as confused as I was. She tried booking for one and could not do it. Anyway, she got me booked for one. I LOVE OHANA and have to start my Disney vacation by having dinner there.
