SOG question for FirstNo......

FirstNo - Have you heard anything from your contacts about the SOG? March 1st is only 3 weeks away and judging by the webcams it looks like they are a long way off from opening. I would think at this juncture in the game the SOG people would have a backup plan that they would need to implement rather soon if they have to move people to other hotels.

I was wondering the same thing. We are going the end of April, so there is still plenty of time, but will they really be ready to open by March 1?

Greetings to CapeCodder95.....we're from the Cape too.
We have ressies for the April school vacation week.
When I called Disney yesterday to make a surfing reservation for my son, the CM told me SOG would be open. Although like you, after visiting SOG's website, it does not look good.
I have heard that they might open even though the construction has not been compeleted. In the event that SOG is not ready, you will most likely end up staying at the Contemporary's north garden wing, or at another deluxe resort....I don't think they would leave us all high and dry with no room. We stayed at the Contemporary last April, and it worked out great because we were given an upgrade to a tower room.
If I were you, I would give SOG a call just to set your mind at ease.
We can't wait to see this nasty Cape Cod winter come to an end!!!

We will be there in April 15th-27th, and I argree with you, I am tired of the winter here in Quincy, Ma.. Lets hope it is up and running!!!

The only thing I've heard is that they are doing away w/paper confirmation letters. They're getting a new resv system and once it's up and running, they'll be EMAILING confirmations. Now, I know your next question is: "But, what if I don't have an email addy" or "I don't want to give my addy out?" Don't know what to tell you on either one. BUT, I will strongly advise you to ask if they will sell your addy or provide your addy to a third party. This is because they HAVE done this in the past. I had to relinguish my computer about a year to a year and a half into doing email so they could download ALL of the email addys (including my work one!). They sold OR gave (I seriously doubt they gave that info away for free, but to protect myself since I don't know for certain, it's in here) it to Go Travel and I continually got spammed from them until I learned how to block them (my repeated emails to them asking to be removed went unheeded). Buyer Beware! The more you all complain about your online privacy, the better chance you'll have at keeping it. Maybe in the past 18mos they've changed their ways, but it NEVER HURTS TO ASK!

FirstNo - thanks for the update. Based on the posts, it's seems like there's a lot of Massachusetts folks who are aching to get out of town. We've had a winter-long freeze up here. It's going to go above 40 degrees today, break out the shorts and sunscreen - it's a heatwave!!! At this point, if SOG pitched tents for us that's fine with me as long as it's warm. Thanks, Sean

You think you're cold in Mass? Try Maine......its like the tundra up here! SOG tents would be fine with me too....who cares as long as we're in Florida! We're going April 22 so I'm not too worried about it not being finished. I figure at the latest they would have to be ready for Easter vacation!

Sorry I couldn't help you all out more. BTW, I'll be out of touch over the next 9 or 10 days (starting right after this post) so, any questions directed to me will have to wait until I get back. Just wanted to let people know I'm not ignoring you, I just can't answer.
