We’re buying some for a camp my kid is attending, but they all seem impossibly narrow. Is this normal?

Haven’t bought them in a while but back in the day, we had luck with Under Armor being a little wider. Try different brands. Nike always seems to be narrowest.

This. Each brand is a different style. Adidas and New Balance usually are a little wider in my opinion. It takes about a week to truly break them in. Also think about the feeling of the foot in the cleat when wearing thicker/thinner socks.

They are supposed to fit tight, with no slipping. So yes, they are often narrow.

You really need to loosen the laces all the way down to get them on, different than say a pair of sneakers. Something both of my kids struggle with.

They will stretch and form to feet with wearing.

Obviously you need to try and see what fits best, but both of my kids prefer Adidas brand.

Yes, they are always snug, but different brands run narrower or wider. Also, my daughter prefers thinner soccer socks.
