Soaring with 3 year old

I'm traveling with friends and they have a 3 year old who is 38" tall. I read the height requirement is 40". Do you think that is strictly enforced? It's of course a favorite.

They will not allow a child who is 2 inches below the requirement to ride.

Yes, it is strictly enforced. The child will be measured before even entering the line. And no, he will not be able to ride.

Yes it is strict. My 5 year old was clearly tall enough, but they held us back to measure.

Best suggestion is to hope for a growth spurt.

measure him right in the morning as your spine compresses over the day and see what height he is then.. (although 2 inches is not going to happen). They will also make the child take shoes off to measure if it looks like they are wearing something to make them taller so watch their footware that day. I've only really seen this on RnR though where it's a bigger deal with the over shoulder restraints.

As the PP's have noted, the height requirement is strictly enforced. Its a safety issue and not something to be compromised on.

Yes, they are very strict. Look into using Rider Swap for Soarin' and anything else that the child does not meet the height requirement for.

Just to echo... Our son was 39.5 inches and they wouldn't allow him on the ride.

It is a safety requirement. Why would you consider risking it?

They'll measure the kid. 2 inches too short is definitely not getting aboard.

All height restrictions are equally strictly enforced. If a piece of paper can slide out between the head and the measuring stick, it's a no-go.

Also note that not all measuring sticks are actually 40" (or the stated height). But the measuring stick is what counts. I know that Test Track and Soarin' used to have a slight variation (don't remember which one was higher), but I have no idea if that's still the case after both rides have been renovated. And one ride in California Adventure has a measuring stick that's nearly 41 inches, but "them's the breaks."

Now, 38 inches should be enough for Mine Train which is a great family ride!
