It should be a level 4 day. How long should the wait be? Which would be shorter?

I would do Soarin first because Test track has a single rider line that moves pretty quickly.

We're a party of 3, 2 adults and a 5 y/o - does that change your answer? (I'm not being a wisea--, I just don't know what a single rider line has to do with it, unless you thought it was just me or if that effects how FP moves?)

You didn't mention the 5 yr old in your OP. The regular line for TT is pretty long, the single rider line is usually a walk-on. I'd head to Soarin first but both rides will fill up fast. Probably Soarin will be longer and almost impossible without a FP+.

With a five year old that you know will be comfortable on both rides, I would get a FP+ for Soaring and head directly to TT. It fills up quickly so know how to get there from the entrance and walk quickly there. You will have a better chance of making good time if you are not dealing with a stroller, and if possible, maybe let dad carry little on his shoulders. There will be masses of people headed there....sorta scary to be little . At least hang on to him. If you have a stroller, have what you are going to carry on the ride with you in your hands and be ready to drop the stroller and go. If you happen to be in Epcot two days, do a FP for each on different days. I really like both of these rides.

2 weeks ago, we went straight for TT (DH, DS 12, DD 8) and nearly got trampled. We had to actually start to run so as to keep up - was NOT fun. :( So yes, hold on to your son and be careful!!

Thanks, @Thing 1 and @cckp72 . I think we will head to Soarin' first and FP TT. I know there will be masses either way, but there are more things near Soarin' we want to get to in the morning. We also plan to be in Epcot many nights, so I can always try to get at least 2 FPs from a kiosk one of those nights.

With a 5-year-old you will not be able to use the single rider line.

Another vote for FP TT... test track goes down from time to time... if you have a FP, the FP will be commuted to another time. If you are trying to do it first thing, you are out of luck.

A few weeks ago, we arrived EPCOT @ 9:30am (30 minutes past rope drop), waited only 10 minutes standy-by for SOARIN and then went to TEST TRACK for our 10:30am FP+ reservation. When we got off SOARIN, the standy-by wait was 40 minutes. After riding TT, we walked past SOARIN again and the stand-by wait was 70 minutes. Needless to say, although we were not at park for rope drop, we couldn't have timed it out any better. My vote is to FP TT, but I guess it depends on how early you get to the park and attempt to ride SOARIN.

We just did this 2 weeks ago (Crowd level 3 or 4). We had 2 adults and a 5 year old. We got lucky at rope drop, and jumped in a line that was just opening, so we were at the front of the pack entering Epcot. We went straight to TT and walked right on. When we got off, the wait was only 10 minutes, so we could've gotten on quickly again. Instead, we walked quickly to Soarin. The posted wait time was 15 minutes. It was more like 20, but still no big deal. It worked perfectly, and were able to save our fast passes for the evening at MK.

Our MO has always been to FP Soarin and standby TT. No way has a Soarin Standby ever shown to warrant flip flopping the order in our experience. Soarin simply loads too slow.

With a 5yo then single rider is out of the question. You asked which one at rope drop. Single rider is at TT is why I would do Soarin first. With the title of the thread I assumed you wanted to minimize wait times and that's how I would have (and have done) it.

Much like the punchline about boxers versus briefs, "Depends."

Wait times at both will be between 40-50 minutes by 10am.

If you can obtain a FP+ for one, go to the other first.

If coming from International Gateway, Soarin' may be a bit closer. Test Track may be a bit closer to Front Gate.

Similarly, depending how you want to tour (i.e., less walking), ending at one or starting at the other may save time and/or hassle.

But if you are really into risk management - get the FP+ for Test Track because it has more problems ranging from weather to technical. Then you can return with FP+ if/when the ride is operational. This would suggest starting at Soarin' (and FP+ Test Track).

We will be there next week with 5 and 6 year old boys. Our plan is to do TT at rope drop. I have a FP for Soarin at noon.

Plan is to be there at rope drop for TT, standby Spaceship Earth, do our Turtle Talk FP, and Nemo FP back to back. Standby for Living with the Land. FP Soarin between 12 and 1. Visit Club Cool. Head to the World Showcase.

Skipping Mission Space and ToaT this time since only older brother is tall enough for both. He did them on our last trip.

FP TT always, for that reason. There has been down time during all my recent Epcot days.

If your there early for rope drop I would head towards soarin. We have gotten really lucky several times and been escorted in early and got to ride 2 times before the crowds hit
