Soarin from Scotland to Mickey ;-D ~ June 2009

3 weeks tomorrow we leave for WDW!!!!!:yay:

I am a little bit excited!!!!!

Plans are coming on well. I have a few suitcases down and am packing away quite happily! The girls are getting excited too and have their cases packed too! Read the Lion King to Katie the other night though and she is now a bit worried about Scar coming to the Lion King show. Should have thought that one through better! Lesson learned. She might forget about him by then. Best thing is I kind of made up the words to the story as i went along - making it Katie friendly! However she was not buying the funny looking uncle comments and decided herself that he is the bad lion. Oh well. Festival of the Lion King should be interesting!!!

The other disaster we nearly had was that my well constructed lie about the night I have planned to do Cali Grill as a surprise nearly was blown. My darling husband showed him Virtual Earth and he has been looking at WDW. he asked me to show him where the restaurant we are going to is so he can see it on the map. The obvious problem here is that I have told them that we will be going by boat from the Contemporary and clearly that is not possible. Damn you Virtual Earth!!!! Totally managed to dodge the question!!!! For how long though................. Wish me luck on that one!

We have had the most lovely weekend here. The weather has been beautiful - blue skies and temps of about 21 degrees which is hot for here! So nice to spend so much time in the back garden - the girls have had a great time in the paddling pool. Was tempted to jump in there myself!!! Emma asked if that was hotter than Florida and was surprised to hear that it will be a lot hotter on holiday! She thinks I am kidding!

I am just trying to get the last few things done at work before I leave for good! I have one medical meeting to do on the 10th which is the only big thing I have in the plans. Feels weird to be finishing up for good. Got confirmation of my resignation today which was good. Hopefully everything will go smoothly and I can finish up with no hassle. Gives me 3 days afterwards to get everything organised for going to WDW. Need to get the hosue todied - horrible coming home to a mess. 2 trips ago i realised at the last minute that I could not find my drivers licence. Panic! I truend the hosue upside down as I was the main driver. DH had only just passed his test and was not confident about driving on the other side of the road! I emptied drawers and cupboards right up to the time we left the house. You can imagine what we came home to.:scared1::scared1: It was depressing when we got back and had to tidy it up. Never did find the licence. Had to get a new one. Now I make sure I have it well in advance!!! Oh, and DH did great with the driving. Apart from when we got the car it was the first automatic he had driven and when he started it the car jumped forward and nearly hit a woman who was getting into another car. His embarrassment was heightened when he noticed her husband who was a guy called Kevin Keegan who was a famous football manager here who has managed England. woops!

Anyway - hope everyone is well! Nearly midnight here so going to log off and get organsied for work tomorrow.

Wow!!! Can you believe 3 weeks??!! :cool1: That is so exciting! It sounds like you are getting things well under control over there with your organizing and getting your bags ready.
We have had wonderful weather here too! So pretty! It's starting to feel like summer! We're leaving in two weeks to spend two weeks at the beach. We're all very ready for that vacation! Our DD just graduated high school on Friday and DS finishes up 7th grade on Thursday. :woohoo:
Have you gone on Allears.net to read what they have about Disney? I found that site so helpful! Seems like you may have mentioned using it...
Are your girls getting really excited? I hope Scar is forgotten before you arrive, good try with changing the story! ;)
Keep us posted with your excitement!!! :yay:

Love the driving story about your DH. I once almost hit a famous race car driver with a golf cart!

You are getting so close! It's such a nice feeling to be so close! I imagine it would be difficult driving on the "wrong" side of the road. We drive on the same side here (as the US), and I would be just as nervous to drive at WDW, just because I'm not used to the huge highways and such.

Good luck keeping the surprise under wraps!

So I was just sitting here thinking that a week right now I will be making my way out of MCO to start our holiday!!! Can't believe it is so close!

I am almost sorted! Cases are filling up nicely and had to rethink some clothes as was taking too much!!! Got 2 little cases packed and put inside big ones so we have 2 rather large suitcases to fill when we are there! Roll on the shopping!

Almost everything is bought. Actually I think I have everything but the kitchen sink! Its funny the way I always buy new things to go away. Even new PJs and new underwear! Why is that? Very strange. My mum does it too - it must be hereditory!!!

We have bought some two-way radios to use as the charges for texting and calling on out mobile phones (cell phones) was huge. Much cheaper this way - and a little more fun! Emma and her Dad trying to think of call names for us all :rotfl: Emma is PipSqueak. They have decided I am to be MonkeyToes which is not very flattering! They can go for their lives but there is no way i'm announcing to half of WDW "this is MonkeyToes calling PipSqeak" Not going to happen!!!

Have bought the most amazing book for Emma. Friends of ours had it shipped over the the UK for their holiday in October and let me have a look. It is a great thing for kids and I would highly recommend it. Here is a link to the authors site. Kids Guide to the Magic Book It is the Kids Guide to the Magic. Its a big book so not overly handy to carry around but it has such good content for the kids to fill in. It has descriptions of all the attractions and bits to say whether they liked it or not. There are pages for each day (14 days in total) and pages for autographs. We have arranged with the author to have it shipped to the villa so it is waiting for us. Very nice guy and fabulous customer service.

Between now and then we have loads on. I have 2 more days as a medical rep. Not a good time for your expense module on your work laptop to break down so you can't file your expenses which add up to a substantial amount of money. grrrr Hope to get it resolved tomorrow. Need to box up all of my equipment and send it all back. Thought I would feel a bit sad but I really don't. I just mass deleted every email and file on my work laptop without a thought. Felt good! Will really miss some people but as for the job and the company - no regrets.

We also have haircut for me, haircuts for both girls, eyebrows wax and eyelash tint for me, Emma going to a friends party, Steve and I going to a friends 40th Rock and Roll themed party, Katie's Toddler picnic, Katies induction at the nursery she starts in August and Emmas school trip in the 6 days that follow this one! So busy busy. Oh and the housework and all the boring jobs that are just a part of everyday life! I'll need pushed around WDW in a wheelbarrow. :rotfl:

Will catch up before we go!

How exciting!!! Makes me want to start packing right now! Although I have over a month...:rolleyes1 Can't wait to hear about all the fun y'all are gonna have (there's some Texas slang for ya! ;) )

Lx, not long now. Sounds like you have a lot going on before you leave. Did you decide on Celebration for July 4th? We will probably stay home. There were so many fireworks going off in the neighborhood on New Years I'm scared to leave in case there is a fire.

I understand about the feelings of leaving your current job, obviously it isn't what you really want to do or it would be hard to say goodbye to it. One job I had to leave when we were moving and I stood in the parking lot with my boss for an hour talking and not wanting to go. Others I couldn't get away quick enough.

sounds like everything is coming together for your trip:cool1:
I love shoppinhg for new clothes for a trip too!!

Yes I think we have decided to go to Celebration. There is a parade in the morning and then lots of things going on in the evening. Really looking forward to it.

I hope you have alot of fun! We leave in the morning for the beach. We stop in Hattiesburg, Mississippi after driving for 8-9 hours, then on Sat. we are only 4 hours to the beach!!!!!!!! If I can get through today at work I will be happy. We are shuting off customer's electric for non-payment of account . I hate this part of my job!!

I'm getting antsy!

Have an amazing time! Such a long drive - hope it passes quickly. Does not sound like a lot of fun at work today. Must be difficult to do that sort of thing. Part of the job I suppose. I'm sure the lure of your trip will get you through it! Can't wait to hear how you get on!

Congratulations! Babies are so much fun to shop for. I bought a friend a beautiful baby outfit (well, it was a dress, but she had a girl) at Disney World. They have wonderful things there.

There is a section in the World of Disney store in DTD that has all baby stuff in it.

Have a safe and wonderful holiday at WDW!
