soarin for a 3 yr old?

My DN LOVED it, of course he liked BTMRR, Splash, Test Track, Malestrom (sp?), POTC...But he absolutely freaked out in It's tough to be a Bug, during Illuminations, It's a Small World and Country Bears...Kids are weird... :confused3

My DS3 loved it. Still talks about it a month and a half later. Now, waiting on line to ride it was a different story. I recommend you fastpass the ride with a child that age.

I hate rides basically. Anything like a roller coaster that might scare me I hate it. Do you think I could ride soarin? It sounds like I will be able to but I am not sure.

I think the most disconcerting thing is that the video has you "flying" RIGHT over the surface of water/rocks/treetops so that you feel like you have to lift your feet. It's this argument between your mind and your vision--your eyes are saying "WHOA!" and your mind is saying "You ninny, you are about five feet off the ground!"

I'd request the back/bottom row if you are concerned. That way if you get weirded out, you can simply look down at the floor, which will be right underneath you. Because there isn't very much motion, per se, it should right your internal sensors.

Happy planning!

My kids 5 & 3 LOVED Soarin! By far their favorite ride in Epcot (mom & dad's too :teeth: )

It is really hard to determine what bothers someone based on age. Many kids will ride this attraction and love it and many adults, myself including, will be in misery the entire time and can't wait for it to end so one can never get on it again. I have never felt so near to being sick in my life. :guilty:

Hey I was in Disney the same time as you!! Stayed at Fort Wilderness.. I'm thinking of going on another December Disney trip too!!! It was alot of fun.

My DS3 and DD5 loved Soarin, and they were not going for the thrill rides at all. They rode it twice!

One of the times we rode it in November, I was seated next to a little one. Not sure, how old, but her little legs didn't even hang over the edge of seat. It was her first time riding and she loved it. Her squeals of joy and giggles were contagious and I can honestly say I enjoyed watching her even more than the movie!! :rotfl:

I am glad to see that so many little ones liked Soarin'. I wish my niece had. She is four, and at home, very much a little daredevil. I told her about the ride before our trip, explaining what it does, etc., and she indicated that she wanted to ride. Well, she HATED it. She was frightened by the flying sensation. I wish I had thought to tell her beforehand that if she was scared she should close her eyes. I honestly was not expecting her reaction, and I felt really badly.

She still talks about how much she hated that ride (and how it is all my fault!).
On the other hand, it was my six year old nephew's favorite. We rode it three times together.
