One who got married last year...
When the (now) husband asked her father for permission to marry her. The Father said "You do know how much money she spends on shoes don't you?"

Its a very traditional superstition.

Ask them and see if their parents follow it or not. I'd be surprised if there was an Asian of Chinese background that wasn't aware of this.

Yes, I am. Working on the National Broadband Network is interesting and ...really....there isn't very many big projects like this happening in corporate world right now in Oz.

The only other massive projects going around I know about are to do with the defence force...

And if it weren't for builders and engineers being involved. It wouldn't be quite so bad

Trying to get a guide on due dates in the schedule. I know there's lulls coming but we haven't had a meeting (yes I actually WANT a team meeting) to talk about happenings.
Work is tedious and boring and mind numbing at the moment. Going round and round in circles.

So back to the medical practitioner discussion. Fran, Arline and I have a whole new weird situation that is coming back into place in the US. We have a "conceirge" doctor. We pay $525 per quarter and she is on call 24/7 via cell phone whenever we need her.

I really mean 24/7 because I have called her at 2AM when Fran was going crazy in the hospital and I didn't know what to do. Most of the time we contact her during normal business hours, but it is very convenient. Most of the time we can just pick up the phone and she is there. If it goes to voicemail, she promises to call you back within 2 hours.
