I more than agree with you, BuzznBelle'sMom about Ashleigh! I want she & her hubby gone, like yesterday. Although I do have to say I was surprised Ryan's solo was not at all what I thought it would be, and I actually have to say I felt he did a credible job on it. What absolutely shocked me about his solo was the fact that he not only wore a shirt, but it was buttoned all the way up -- for the entire dance! Never would have guessed it.
I thought the reveal of the bottom three was also interesting because I think it revealed a lot about Karen (if looks could kill). It was absolutely reinforced when the elimination was announced & a broken hearted Pauline turned to Ellenore and obviously neither expected or received any acknowledgment from Karen.
Constructive criticism to dancers is worth its weight in gold. Lil' C's comments have been a real source of that the past couple of seasons. Adam throws out some really useful thoughts pretty regularly. When Mary is technical, particularly w/ the ballroom styles, she's generally spot on. Sometimes Nigel is quite helpful & sometimes he's way out of line -- IMO commenting on Evan's looks last season was disgusting.
My guess is Nigel's comments to Nathan & Mollee had more to do w/ offscreen stuff than just the arrogant comment on the broadcast. DD reminded me how Nathan got to the top 20. Auditioned for season 5, but was too young so he was given a ticket to Vegas for this season because he would be of age. Gigantic ego boost. Then in Vegas he was awarded a top 20 spot with glowing reviews over dancers who have tried for several years to make it on the show and a dancer who narrowly missed making last season's top 20. Huge ego boost. Season starts airing & it's nothing but great reviews & lots of feedback about being fan favorites. Ego must be sky high. I think Nigel knew he needed to be cruel to be kind. The kid is obviously a very talented dancer. I hope next week we see him dance from a whole new perspective of maturity.
BTW, the queen of useless commentary, I can't even legitimately call it critiquing, has to be Toni Basil. When Nigel used the term street last night, I think talking to Kevin, DD & I just looked at each other in horror. You can say road, avenue, highway or freeway. Even if it's paved in gold, street is a word no longer welcome in our house.
