So You Think You Can Dance Season 6

Oh my gosh, MIA left? :sad1: How did I miss that? She is BY FAR my favorite choreographer on this show. I was so hoping to see what she would do with the dancers this season.

Oh well. Sonja is becoming one of my new faves, and "NappyTab" always delivers too. Life goes on.

...yup. he's gone off to bigger and better things - I believe that she is also judging the Canada version of SYTYCD....here's her website:

Did anyone watch last night's show?

I'm watching now. Another judges elimination due to the World Series.

Nigel did announce that Billy Bell can start the competition back in Vegas next season and Brandon can re-audition next season.

I'll be back with my thoughts when I'm not on the iPhone.

I'm 1/2 way through the show and so far only Legacy (did I just say that?) and Katherine have impressed.

Bottom 4 was a huge disappointment. Eliminations were a huge disappointment. IMO choreography stunk up the screen last night.

Yep, Legacy shows major signs of redeeming himself in my eyes.

I agree on all accounts.

I don't feel that the top 20 should have the judges ever doing this again.

I don't like it at all.

I don't feel Noelle should have been in the bottom but I can't figure out what other female belonged there.

I do agree with Phillip going. He was just not transforming IMHO.

Loved Legacy and Katherine. It's kind of weird as I think they'd make a good couple IRL.

I can see some reasoning behind Phillip's elimination -- even though I found it painful.

Bianca? HUGE loss.

I find Ashley's presence -- with good reviews????? absolutely. beyond. credibility. Her hubby gives off a creepy factor.

My one hope in the judges doing the eliminations last night was hoping Jakob would be freed of Ashley before audience voting starts. Now we either carry her along or lose him -- that's not a win for anybody in my book.

I also think Peter shot himself in the foot w/ his whatever that was during the critiques. Nigel was incredibly displeased. It's a shame, because I thought he might get cut last week & they gave him a reprieve & I think Nigel wrote him off last night.

Tabitha & Napoleon's routine went far, far beyond risque IMO. Give us some Shane Sparks, Dave Scott, Lil' C. Reduce hip hop to 1 per week & give Nappy Tabs the rest they so obviously need.

I think it is kinda crappy that Phillip was cut the week that his dad died. I mean come on!

I'm ok with Bianca going and I do think Noelle deserved to be in the bottom but I'm glad she is staying.

My fav dances of the night
Legacy and Katharyn
Ryan and Ellenore
Jakob and Ashleigh

I also enjoyed
Peter and Pauline and Nathan and Mollee

I though the rest were uninspired to say the least. I don't think I liked any of them.

I was happy with the tappers gone, 3 in the group of 20 was too much I thought to begin with.

Ellenore is incredible! I would love, love, love to see her paired w/ Jakob! For me at this point the tops are Jakob, Katherine & Ellenore -- with Legacy working his way up to join them.

I don't mind them BUT Jakob is absolutely carrying her and she got lucky lucky with drawing the waltz. If they want her gone, she'll draw hip hop.

I think the couples can split up in the elimination. They'd both have to suffer in the bottom but she can go and he stay.

I wonder what it was? I'll have to google the taping recaps. I love Wade's routine but it was alright. I think because everything else was weak. Wade is usually so much stronger. This seemed very simplistic.

I am about as far as you can get from prudish but I totally agree. NappyTabs couldn't come up with anything better than Karen doing a strip tease and bad club dancing? It was amateur and lazy choreography. I really expected better from them.

My replies bolded above.

I totally, agree. Those are my favorites too. I absolutely didn't think Legacy should have made the Top 20 but he is totally showing me.

I had confused Jakob's name with Victor in my original reply.

I think Jakob is totally carrying Ashleigh right now but Kathryn and Legacy are really bringing each other up.

I do like Ryan but Ellenore is making him look good too!

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing any breakout stars yet.

Peter broke out his "slick ladies man" move -- while Nigel was critiquing him, not to mention pretty decently. It was totally out of context & ticked Nigel off.

My daughters have been dancing for years & I've come to grips w/ choreography flirting w/ boundaries. Let's just say I think there's sexy, which works in the right context w/ dancers 18+. Then there's trashy, which really offers nothing artistic or creative IMO, just goes for the shock value. That's what Nappy Tabs gave us last night. No thanks. Even if Wade's concept was, let's just say out there, at least he was attempting to give us a vision of something beyond a lap dance!

I agree. It almost seems like they put 3 through just so that they could make a big deal about 'making history' on the show.

Her husband definitely has a skeezy factor to him.

I thought he was doing creepy eyes from his character in the dance. He had a very unusual eye during the whole performance that was very fitting to the character. I bit better than Pauline IMHO who appeared to be "happy" versus po'd that Van Gogh dropped her from Starry Night.

As for the lap dance--I hadn't noticed until they flashed it on the playback and then it clicked how risque it was. I must have been falling asleep during the actual performance or something. I thought it was good. Then when they started talking about it, I was like WHAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT!

I also didn't notice elenor's dress caught in her shoe either.

What was that? It looked to me like some gay flirty thing and Nigel certainly wasn't biting.

I was disappointed with most of the choreography.

I think Phillip knew he was going, and just did the dance he wanted to do. I think he's fantatic in his own style but that he didn't have the ability - or the strong desire - to do other styles.

So I an watched High School Musical 3 yesterday and I see this VERY FAMILIAR FACE on it!

Mollee was a principle dancer on the film and is in MANY scenes. Hadn't seen that mentioned, but found it very interesting. Sabra was in the original high school musical in a cafeteria dance scene, but no idea if she was principle (throughout the film) or featured (just in specific dance scenes as background). (Actually after pulling up her IMBD, she was in all three films.)

I'll have to look for her. Allison Holker was in 1 and 2 and after SYTYCD she always jumps out at me.

In the prom scene number (earlier in the film)--she is in the emerald green dress.

At the conclusion of the number when Sharpay steps to the side of the stage to plot with Ryan--she's walking behind them.

In the opening of the show at the end, she is one of the cheerleaders in that number.

She's sprinkled in other spots--too numerous to mention. But she seems to always be featured prominently.

I don't know about earlier in the film b/c I had my Eureka moment during the prom scene.

It has actually been mentioned quite clearly on the show. Maybe it was just in her first audition episode.
