So Why Ride the Busses When I can Drive?

In the past, there was very little, if any, extra expense for renting a car compared to paying roundtrip from MCO to WDW. Now WDW has the Magical Express for free.

We have always had a car (either drove our own or rented when we traveled by air) so we have gotten accustomed to it. We will rent a car during our next visit as we plan to stay offsite a few nights to visit USF/IoA.

It is so much more relaxing to travel by car than to wait on and ride on crowded Disney buses. We keep a cooler with drinks and snacks in the car and can have a quiet time of conversation AND we don't have to stand.

WDW maps and signage make travel around WDW simple and easy. Traffic flow has been very efficient during the times we have driven around WDW.

For the first few years after college, I couldn't afford a car, so I took a bus everywhere. Maybe that's why riding buses at WDW doesn't appeal to me. On our first trip, we took the buses, and while there is nothing wrong with them, I prefer just going out to the parking lot, getting in my car and driving away, instead of waiting for a bus to come and then risking standing the entire way to the hotel.
