So What's it like in May?

Being from up north are we gonna roast if we go in early May? My wife and I were there in Sept. and the sun was to hot for our liking, is it any better in May? Or should we expect the same.

According to weather.com, the average high temp for Orlando in May will be 88 degrees. You will be roasting.

We usually go in the middle of May. It's pretty hot, no doubt about it, but it's not unbearable, like it is in July or August.

We went last May (over Memorial Day) and it was hot, yes, but mostly very rainy! It rainded some every day of the eight day trip, but that helped the crowds. It will be hot but not nearly as bad (heat or crowds) as July!

I have gone twice in May and have had excellent weather both times. Last year I went in the second week, and the year before the third week. The weather was nice and warm both times. We had one night of rain last year, and no rain the year before. The temps were in the low 90's both times, which was AWESOME! I feel May is a really good time to go.

We've been September and May and I liked May MUCH better. September seemed more "sticky" or humid than May did. I might be dreaming. Who knows? I know I like May for the crowd level, the Flower and Garden Show, Star Wars weekends, and it being warm enough to ride all the water rides but not stay wet all day!!!!

We went one year in July and it was extremely hot and humid (and we're from SE Missouri where it gets really hot and humid) The next time we went it was the end of May and while the temp was still hot, it was not nearly as humid. So the heat didn't bother us near as much. We really enjoyed that trip.

We've been in mid-May and the weather has been beautiful. This year we're going in early May. We went last year over Memorial weekend and it was more hot, humid and crowded compared to when we went earlier in the month.

Our first two family trips were in May, and that's my all time favorite time to go. Warm enough for the pools, short rainshowers in the afternoon on occasion, but not humid. I think you should go in May!

It does very VERY hot in May; much more than we like and we live in SC, and yes, it is humid, too. The sun in May is intense; pack sunscreen.

That is great- I do not ever remember going in May, I am having my wedding planning session 2nd week of may. The last 2 years we have been in Augist and then our wedding is there in November....I am excited

We went the 2nd week of May in 2004 and it was HOT!! I'm talking mid 90's and humid! Apparently it was unusually hot for that time of year. I remember reading DIS posts after we returned and that was a big topic of discussion. I think you should be prepared for anything from mid 80's-mid 90's. Don't forget hats and sunscreen!! Have fun!
