So what makes you happy at WDW that probably makes no one else happy???

I love the twinkling/sparkly lights on the ground as you leave the World showcase in the back walking back to the Beach club. at night its magical

  • Feel of the pavement, don't know why, but it feels different.
  • Ledge on looking world showcase lagoon by France.
  • Smell inside Pirates.
  • Music loops! Esp. anything EPCOT.
  • Ponds/walkways outside Odyssey bathrooms.
  • Tomorrowland transit authority People mover

So many great ones already here!
I'll add:
1. Those concert posters while you wait for Philharmagic to begin -- would buy a few if I could!!
2. The signs in the Muppet gift shop "Don't Look Here", "Why are you looking here?" ... so funny, and I think most people miss them.
3. Taking pictures with random things - like the hitching posts at POFQ
4. Any hidden Mickey, anywhere.
5. Being in line at IASW when the clock chimes the hour.
6. Singing along on any ride that has a song... :duck:
7. When the bus starts playing the Mickey Mouse March... I promise not to cry every time, and break my promise every time.
8. This one isn't necessarily at the parks, but teaching my kids the words to Disney songs and hearing them sing. Last time, the two of them sang IASW the whole way from our house to the airport. DH was not nearly as amused as I was... :rolleyes1

As soon as the warm, humid air hits me as we're getting off the plane at MCO, I'm elated!

Love, monorail safety message, MK good morning show, especially the confetti at the end, smell of water rides, that moment on Splash Mountain after the drop and you're feeling awesome, but the ride isn't even done, and you come around the corner with that big lit up scene playing zip-a-dee-do-dah! Going backwards the stars scene in Spaceship Earth, and all the smells, lit up sidewalks, Mexico outside/inside, so many!
Where and when is the good morning show i keep hearing of?

What a great thread and lots of great post's something's already mentioned for me are 1) dead men tell no tales POTC 2) love the announcement on the monorail especially the Spanish part and my very favorite is just walking down main st and seeing the castle:love::love::love::love:

Oh my gosh, my Disney soulmate! These are three of my absolute FAVS!!!! So sad POTC will be closed during our next trip. I have the monorail announcements as my ringtone. And as far as stepping onto Main Street - I just want to twirl with my arms up in the air (like Julie Andrews). It is going to be a long wait until our trip in Sept...

Back on page four, I mentioned the wet pavement at the parks when you arrive at rope drop. It's kind of the same with the resort. Love to see the early morning resort staff making ready for my day. I feel sort of ... special then.

Walking on to our balcony in the morning and hearing the train and noise from the MK.

I can picture the people on the rides, eating the food, and just enjoying the atmosphere all from out cozy balcony knowing another day at WDW has just begun.

And of course the monorail (anything about it). The Contempary monorail station has a place in my heart reminds me of my childhood. Along with where the Wave is now when it was that very large arcade and CS. As others have mentioned Disney musty water smell.

Tetherball and a Yuengling at either Fort Wilderness or WL beach. Best memories ever...

Watching Stacey on the TV looping over and over.

Love Stacey! I also love the moment when I remember just how much my family loves me, after they're tired of Stacey's loop, but they keep it on because I adore it.

This is a great thread! Here are mine

1. Driving under the arched "Walt Disney World-Where Dreams Come True" sign ..that is when I know I am back for real!
2. Walking down Main Street first thing in the morning, the music, the excitement and seeing the castle for the first time.
3. Reading all the Walt Disney quotes on the construction walls..yeah I know the construction can be a pain but at least they try and make it entertaining.
4. Taking off on Soarin...God I LOVE that ride! The smells, the wind the feeling of flying and the music!
5. Reaching the top of the hill on Splash Mountain, going down the hill, and Seeing the River Boat and hearing Zippety Do Dah!
6. Wishes! Gosh the music makes me cry every time!
7. Seeing strangers, especially little kids experiencing the magic and wonder for the first time. This past time we saw little ones just shake with excitement over meeting Mickey for the first time....that never gets old!
8. The great memories I have from years of family vacations with my loved ones..our favorite things, our memories and the love of Disney that they have inherited from their parents.

I could go on and on and mine are not that unique but these are some of my favorites!

Hey, I'm the OP of the "What Bothers You at WDW" thread and I have one that really gets me:

I love MK when it's late and the park's closing. You step right outside the entrance door and you stand where you stand close to the transportation signs. Quick- what time period are you experiencing?

I know that a great deal of MK is based upon the Boardwalk circa 1900s, but it's mixed with this modern feel. And it's late and kinda dark with the music and popcorn smell. The whole experience blends very well!

OK, here's another thing: Riding BTMRR as the fireworks is going off in the background. Don't know why I like this, but I try to time it.

Alright, last thing: Animal Kingdom at night!:thumbsup2 AK at night is the most beautiful park in WDW! The lights and shadow is just amazing against the flora and fauna backdrop. You simply want to walk slower and take it all in at night.

Cool!:cool1:

Now you got me thinking about this and I have another one:

See when we first went to WDW, my sons were little tykes- ages 6 and 7. On our first trip, they took a picture next to a Green Army Man, who towered over then. They were all saluting. Now my sons are high school teens and over 6 feet tall. They recently took that same picture and they both were taller than the Green Army Man! And it's a funny side-by-side comparison.

I don't know about you, but I like looking around WDW and remembering the first times and the times when my kids were young. I like that they grew up going to Disney. This was a bucket list thing for me ever since I was 13 years old and laughed while watching National Lampoon's 'Vacation.' Even though I laughed at the antics, I was secretly jealous that they had a crazy dad that wanted to drive them to Wally World for vacation. And I wanted to do that for my family.

So what it is that makes me happy more than ever? That sense of accomplishment of seeing joy and happiness in my family's faces.

I adore American Adventure show. Parts of the narration can make me tear up everytime..... the Eagle has landed! I have a dream...

and the whole Civil War section

Epcot, when you are walking up after parking and the monorail is flying by and you see Spaceship Earth in the distance. My heart is happy.

The breeze under Spaceship earth and then you get that whiff of Spaceship earth heaven. It's Marvelous! When you get to the part on Spaceship earth where it is dark and the earth is above you.

Living with the Land, I love when you start off with the thunderstorm, rainforest, and the yellow house, I want to live in that house.

Figment! It's a blast and the skunk smell! Awesome!

Nemo at the end where peach is talking to you and the part with crush, its the EAC!

The sound of Test Track and the screaming people on it.

When you get half way around World Showcase and you look toward Spaceship Earth, it is just beautiful!!!

The smell of the Mexico pavilion and the three caballeros.

The smells and music in each country, I just love it, I often daydream about having lunch or dinner and enjoying the atmosphere.

Old bandaid smell of the monorail.
