So what makes you happy at WDW that probably makes no one else happy???

The train village in Germany in Epcot. It reminds me of the train set my dad and I put together growing up. I also just enjoy sitting at Cosmic Ray's and listening to Sonny Eclipse.

That musty smell of all the indoor water rides. It's gross, but it's Disney. Also, children.. I'm not a 'kid person', but sometimes there will be those that REALLY appreciate where they're at and what they're doing and are just so adorable. Disney is both the best argument for and against procreating.

My favorite thing in the world to do is sit outside in Morocco, eat Shawarma, and watch people. I loved it even more before MoRockin left and they built Spice Road.

1. The smell of the Grand Floridian lobby

2. That first ride on the monorail

3. Walking into my Disney resort hotel room

4. Disney balloons

5. Getting stuck on Haunted Mansion (happens every time)

6. Walking with my WDW bag full of souvenirs

I too can't get enough of the smell of water rides at the parks, its like a sneak peak at how refreshing it will feel once you're on the ride on a hot day.
I like the faint quietness of the shops in AK, you can still hear the hubbub from outside but the drop in volume makes me feel excited for some reason.
I know a lot of people can't stand the smell of the fuel fumes from the speedway in MK but I love it. I think its from when I was a child and my dad let me steer the wheel. I know most people don't care for this ride but its nostalgic to me.
Taking a photo of the cute little cabin at the Canada showcase for my mom. She won't fly and the drive and cost is too much for her, but she loves that cabin so i take a pic for her every time.

IASW- Seriously, I love it. I have 2 must rides this and Peter Pan's Flight. I love the ride, the smell of it, the music. Every last single bit of it.

I only ride either of them once each trip- but only because I don't want to ruin it. They must remain special. I'm not sure there are any others out there like me. It's lonely loving that ride. ;)

My wife and I have grown to love being extra nice to the CMs. It is amazing how many times you get huge smiles from CMs that are typically treated as furniture at the front of a queue or taking orders at quick service restaurant just by asking about them or noting where they are from and asking about it. We do not do it to get any special treatment in return, but I guarantee that the responses are worth it.

Walking into the Mexico pavilion. I just love everything about it, the way it feels like you are outside, the ride, the restaurant, the shop etc. I could spend hours in that pavilion! In fact I have!

  • Entering each park for the first time of the trip. Seeing Spaceship Earth really starts the trip for us because we usually hit Epcot first; SE is the first ride of the trip.
  • The smell of Spaceship Earth, especially Rome burning! Love smelling fire burning because it instantly transports me back to SE.
  • Smell of Splash and other indoor water rides
  • Finally getting into my room at the resort. The airport monorail and DME also just start the trip off and build up the excitement!
  • The overall feeling of waking up to a cool morning at my resort, somewhat damp, knowing the day will warm up soon. We call those "Disney mornings" in my house. Whenever there are one of those mornings back at home, I feel like it need to get to WDW asap! :hyper:
  • Getting on the buses. Those purple or orange and grey seats for whatever reason make me happy. Best form of public transportation.
  • "Please stand clear of the doors..." and the Spanish translation. We are the group repeating the whole thing and say it all the time at home in our best impressions
  • Walkways - the lighted ones in Epcot and the dedication pavers that go from the bus stop for MK to the gate. Those both always fascinated me since I was little so they are just something else that make me feel like I'm home.
  • "Welcome home" - honestly feel this pixiedust:

In December, while walking down Main Street. Whenever I hear the song "it's the most wonderful time of the year" it makes me feel good. If I hear that song when not at Disney, my mind goes back to Main Street.:dogdance:

Some of my favourite things are:
Going up in the Hot Air Balloon
The smells on Soaring
I love exploring the Christmas store
An ice cream sundae at Ghridellis

The smell in the candy shops! SUGAR! I'm diabetic and when I'm on vacation I love the smell, texture, and taste of the forbidden fruit. CUPCAKES! and Lord help the person that gets between me and my Ghirardelli's sundae! My doctor will just have to live with the fact that once a year I'm gonna be bad What many take for granted is a wonderful treat for me!

Oh my gosh - wonderful thread!! There are so many things, its hard to think of them of them all.

  • The annoucement of the doors closing on the monorail.
  • The queue up through Space Mountain.
  • The 'spooky' CMS at HM - I love when they try to 'scare' you.
  • We have got caught in rain storms a few times in MK and EP - although it sounds weird, it's fun dashing for cover and having the park clear out some
  • Walking around Tom Sawyer Island is one of my absolute fav things to do - I love every inch of it and could spend at least a few hours there if there was more time in the day!

I'm pretty sure I posted this somewhere else a few months back - but - I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sound of the wooden (bamboo) windchimes in the shops at AK and Adventureland. I would purposely walk down a certain side street in our neighborhood because someone has windchimes that sound just like them. Obviously my kids know I'm crazy for the sound - oldest DD bought me my own set for Mother's Day. I can now sit on my front porch, close my eyes, and I imagine I'm back at Disney. :)

I love a good rain in the parks! Not when it's cold though. There is a lull in the crowds and a certain clean summer scent.

I love that time of the evening when it is just starting to get dark in World Showcase. There are a lot of performances, people are eating and drinking. I like strolling and finding a spot to watch IllumiNations.

Night in the Animal Kingdom! There used to be EMH in the evening there and I loved to see it all lit up.

I am a HUGE fan of Walt Disney and I love walking down Main Street and feeling the magic that he envisioned. To me, he encompasses so much of what is great about America - dreams, imagination, family, children, business, magic, hard work, and fun. I can feel him there in the park, even though he never got to see opening day. His dreams, his perseverance, and his imagination inspire me.

Although he died well before I was born, I feel an unusual connection with him, and that connection is strongest when I am at WDW.

I think he would be so happy with what his dream has become, and I like imagining what he would think if he were walking in my shoes, seeing, hearing, smelling, and tasting the joys that all started with a mouse.

The Electric Water Pagent! Which we used to call the Electric Light Parade, but the name changed due to new parades at the Magic Kingdom, as this is just the little floats and lights on the water. // On one trip (We were staying at the Contemporary and I went out on the balcony on OMG there is was). The last time I had seen it was in 1975 when I was camping at Fort Wilderness and I was just sooo thrilled to see it. I had no idea it was still around, so it was a total surprise. My husband, son, and I loved sitting out on our balcony and watching it, and it was a new memory and nostalgic all at the same time. My very favorite WDW memory. lol

Walking into the inside queue for Spaceship Earth. Seeing the ride vehicles as you enter for the first time that trip is my absolute favorite part of my WDW trip. It says "I have arrived". :teeth:

I love Spaceship Earth! It is one of my favorites. I just love the burning smell, the clunk clunk of the ride, the very top when you see the world. We ride multiple times every trip.
