So what makes you happy at WDW that probably makes no one else happy???

The little bitty bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and the little soap bars at the resorts. I pack them away in my bag every night so they'll replenish them, but I never use them. I have a huge stash of them going back 10 years.

....I know, and I readily admit I have a problem, but it's not like I'm stealing the towels or anything!!!

  • The smell of gift shops. I don't know what the smell is (synthetic plastics? antimicrobial sanitizers?) but it gets me really excited. It doesn't really make me want to buy anything, but it does give me a little energy buzz, and makes me so thankful to be at Disney.
I LOVE the smell of the gift shops on Main Street. I actually remarked last time we were there that they must pump a sweet scent in!

In fact, the thing I was thinking of when I first read your question was "wandering in and out of the stores on Main Street". It's not for the merchandise but rather for the immersive experience (including the smell) in the old-timey setting.

I love when I see the ducks near the pool at the resorts and the rabbits.
I like when sit in my seat at Soaring the CM says pull the strap. This lets me know that we are ready for Lift Off!

There are more but right now my mind is blank.

Oh lord where to I start!!

I love everything about my arrival at PoR! I love the grounds. Rooms. Lobby. Everything!

The sound of the wdw train as you approach Mk.

The sound of the tikis in adventureland.

The PotC queue music and the first mural to the right as you get on the ride with the ship dimly lit on the dark sea. This is where I insist our plane actually crashed on the way to florida because I'm in heaven.

The infinite hallway on HM.

The Hawaii room of IaSW.

"Fire Mr Smee!" (queue little red light on cannon)

Philharmagic!!! OMG! Every minute!

Hearing zippity do dah on splash mountain.

The smells of the land pavilion, Pirates, enchanted tiki room, country bear jamboree, CoP.

The bus narrarator.

These are just a few. Really it's just an overload all the things that make me happy at disney. There's contentment around every corner. Absolute bliss!

I love the music that plays during the Wishes Fireworks Show
And simply being able to meet and connecting to new people while standing in line
and that rush at the beginning of Rockin' Rollercoaster as it pulls you onto the ride!!

The first Monorail ride doing to MK
Every thing about Haunted Mansion-seriously-like a PP said I do not mind at all being stopped on that ride
Getting a family picture with Safari Mickey in Animal Kingdom-now a family tradition.
Watching kids faces when they meet "face" characters...and their "idol" talks to them.
The smell of hot asphalt/pavement/cotton candy mix-weird I know-worked at Six Flags in High school, and the smell reminds me of fun times-but the combo is somehow unique smelling at Disney

That dead tired feeling at the end of a long park day, when you're on a bus back to your resort at 2 AM and everyone around you is quiet/sleepy/knocked out. I LOVE that feeling. You know it's been a productive day.

The safety spiel - "For your safety, please keep your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the vehicle..." It always gets me excited!

The heat of the sun on a summer day.

The gross feeling of sitting on a wet seat on Splash Mountain. You know you're gonna get wet!

Waiting in line for a bus/attraction and unexpectedly making new friends from all around the world! That's half the fun of a trip!

The fact that certain cast members talk to me in french (its my native language). I find it very cute.

All the accents around the world showcase at Epcot. J'adore!

The princesses prepare to talk with adults and with very funny jokes (Rapunzel was the best!)

And Gaston! Ahhhhh Gaston! Take the Line to talk and interact with Gaston! A little girl holding Gaston in her arms a very Long Time and her mother atempt to get her and She grab again Gaston and again! So fun and too cute! Gaston fell in love with this little Princess (Water in his eyes) :o

Gosh, AWESOME question OP!!!!!!!

I do LOVE positive threads.

Before we even get to Disney, seeing the palm trees at the border to South Carolina, that is when being in Disney soon starts to sink in.

Seeing the Orlando skyline as we travel along I4, we know we're getting really close then.

My first mug full of Gold Peak Iced Tea at POR, I can get it here in NY, but I REALLY look forward to it at Disney!

Seeing the anoles running across the paths, especially at POR, there seem to be a LOT of them there.

reciting the spiel in the Haunted Mansion stretching room, line for line, along with the narration. I think I've been to the Haunted Mansion a few too many times lol.

I love it when you arrive at MK via bus and it plays the little spiel!
I love arriving at our resort and being greeted with, "Welcome Home"
I love the lobby at VWL. It is so peaceful!!
I also love listening to the Dapper Dans.

I take an inordinate amount of delight in...
*the peg-leg pirate prints on the ramp exiting PotC
*the radio station music loop in the Jungle Cruise queue
*the bus ride to Downtown Disney (we always go in the evening, and I find the long ride relaxing)

IASW- Seriously, I love it. I have 2 must rides this and Peter Pan's Flight. I love the ride, the smell of it, the music. Every last single bit of it.

I only ride either of them once each trip- but only because I don't want to ruin it. They must remain special. I'm not sure there are any others out there like me. It's lonely loving that ride. ;)

OMG I love the smell in IASW. I thought it was only me

Thanks for posting. My top three: Pirates ( the smell, dead men tell no tales & of course the song) the whole family sings along. (Yes we are that family )
Peter Pan as you are flying over London Town. It is the best three minutes isn't it?
Haunted Mansion the no windows & no doors. On a Trip a long time Ago I yelled no windows & no walls so of course the peeps say it each time & don't forget the scream.
Yes we are that family.

Thanks that was fun !

I'm happy watching my DD living her dream performing in Fantasmic!, Dream Along With Mickey, JTA, FOF, and MSEP, as well as flying around the country spreading Disney Magic at special events! I'm amazed that she has such a cool role with Disney!

Great thread btw.

The smell in Pirates

That first bus ride

How cold the chains are in the bus lines,no matter how hot the weather

Just seeing the GF- gorgeous

The smell from Main Street bakery
