So, What is it Like With NO MK Night Time Parade? :((

Not at the same level of "dead" as it was for the years following 9/11

Agree - it's not 'dead' - so the parks are open later and there are fireworks regularly...but a cut back in 2016 doesn't seem unreasonable given the rest of the circumstances (more DHS and AK night time events added)...

Anyway - I think my bottom line point is that the MK will be FINE without a parade for a few months. Is it ideal? No. Was it their original plan? No. Will it negatively impact your evenings in MK for the rest of 2016? I think Not enough to really be an issue. Infact - some folks might actually enjoy walking around the park in the evening and taking in the sites or going to a dance party or riding rides instead of sitting on the curb!!

I do think that FoF would be a great stop gap. When my kids were small - we were never at the parks at 3pm. It's a terrible time for kids who nap or for those that don't do dead heat! would love to watch it at night!

SpectroMagic was the very best - ever! The music made people sooooo excited - you just knew the parade would be quality!!!!!

I LOVED SpectroMagic!!!! I just wish the kids of today could see it!!!!!

I can still hear the opening fanfare! What a great parade it was. It was sad to learn of the fate of the floats a few months back.

You know, I never saw SpectroMagic live, and everyone seems to love it so much, so I watched a video of it (and downloaded the soundtrack), but I was underwhelmed by it. I know it is highly regarded, but the music isn't peppy enough for my tastes, and the floats are fine, but not that much better than MSEP. It just wasn't that special to me (but I know I might feel differently if I had seen it live).

I'll get an extra hour to enjoy a nighttime Main St. without a crush of guests.

And, really, there have often been many evenings over the years when they didn't run a nighttime parade at MK, so it's not too foreign to see MK without one.

I will say that the recent version of MSEP was the poorest version of any in the history of Disney parks.

Actually, I DO hope they bring another parade to MK before too long.
I'm with you.

While I love MSEP it doesn't bother me one bit that they won't have a parade at night. It was just one more thing clogging up the walkways.

Yup, goosebumps. I still keep the soundtrack in my car.

When Spectro came it was MUCH better than the OLD MSEP, which was more like a tree with fewer giant lights as opposed to now with many smaller lights. By today's standards very cheezy. The MSEP everyone knows now is very upgraded to be more like Spectro was.

Music, I think that is very personal. I love Spectro and MSEP is like nails to a chalkboard to me.

The down side is those folks will now be in ride lines and that used to be a great time for the non-parade watchers.

We really enjoyed all of the nighttime parades, both Spectromagic and MSEP, and were a great part of all our trips. I hope the Imaginaires have been hard at work coming up with an even better nighttime parade for the near future.

MRFF (Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire) has changed the Castle Stage show schedule to include evening shows.
This week's schedule for non-party nights:
Wednesday & Saturday at 1:00, 2:00, 4:00, 5:15, 6:30 & 7:30pm

I'm going with 4 people at MK in the next spring break.
They never have been there and I'm sad that they won´t see the night parade but I also understand that they will have so much else to see and play...

You don't know this. There has been no official announcement either way. I would not assume.

It MAY be nice to have a nice "quiet" evening walk down Main Street, something we have never done. But, the trade off will be many, many more guests waiting in lines or in the dining establishments (but then again I wouldn't care cuz we'll be enjoying the "quiet" walk down Main Street). I actually wouldn't mind a fabulous new evening parade on select nights. I,think that is a FABULOUS idea! ;)

I imagine this would be just for October as Castle lighting will begin in November, though I have not seen the Nov. schedule yet. If I remember correctly , there was Castle lighting at 6:30 and 7:15 last year every night including parties. I just remember that doing the park sweep in the HUB area was a bear because of the second lighting show on party nights.
