So, What is it Like With NO MK Night Time Parade? :((

Since tomorrow night (the 12th) is the first night since it left (parties on the 10th & 11th), it will be interesting to see the guest reactions for those that don't know it has left and expect a night parade.

I understand that but different people have different priorities. People who make an occasional trip and can't come back whenever the Magic Kingdom decides to roll out a new parade are very disappointed not to be able to have one on this trip. My friend hasn't been in 3 years and we'll be there in three weeks. The parade is one of her favorite things in the Magic Kingdom. She has no idea when she will get back again so telling her a new parade might show up next year is absolutely no consolation to her.

While I sympathize, you could say the same thing for pretty much every change WDW makes. Every day there are hundreds of first time visitors that will never be able to do any of my old Favorites! I'll never again ride "If You Had Wings, " the original Imagination, eat in the original Contemporary cafeteria.

But the opposite is also always true, because my new favorites didn't exist.

If she hasn't been in three years, she'll ALSO find several NEW favorites to discover.

Sure I miss my old favorites, but only a bit, because I'm pretty busy checking out the NEW things WDW has to offer.

If the new things at WDW don't excite her, then she'd do well to spend some time visiting all of Universal's NEW attractions. They have plenty of fun new stuff!

WDW isn't going to be static. Overall, I'm impressed at how well they DO retain old favorites. Truly, many non-WDW parks of the past don't even exist at all.

Actually not that much new at all since her last visit 3 years ago.

While I am sad that there is no replacement that's been announced (and there may not be one for the foreseeable future), I am not sad to see MSEP go! It's so dated and the music drives me insane. Watching it has not been a priority for me for years, so when I am in MK at night I am always having to dodge the parade route, and Main Street is such a crushingly crowded nightmare. I'm honestly kind of glad it's gone.

Now, if they brought something along the lines of Paint the Night to MK (or anything similar), I would be THRILLED and it would be worth navigating the crowds and the hassle. But it was time for MSEP to be put out to pasture, IMO.

Any particular reason why you think that, or more just wishful thinking?
My wishful thinking is it'd be nice if something would show up for the holidays, starting by Nov 12th, lol!

- There were plenty of good reliable sources that stated PTN was coming including plenty of MK CMs.
- I don't think they anticipated the backlash from DL but honestly I think a bigger issue is the problems they are having with the costumes, issues that would be magnified in Florida weather.
- Just because this plan fell through does not mean they are not working on another plan.

- October has only 9 days that will be dark. I expect it will stay that way. November and December have 50% of the nights dark.

- Who says Disney isn't working on an option for those nights in November and December.

- Who says Disney isn't working on bringing in a replacement until the 50th.

Maybe we all need to express these sentiments directly to Disney. If they get enough demand, maybe they'll give us a new parade.

50th in 5 years ... I'd be leaning towards a brand new parade designed for MK celebration. FoF is one of the best parades I have seen at MK, no reason to think they won't do something equally special for night time.

Am I correct in that they can't bring back SpectroMagic because the floats got trashed from being left out in the elements?

Whether parade floats were destroyed or not doesn't mean they can't bring back a parade if they want to. MSEP was NOT the original MSEP. Do I think they will? No. If they are going to build a parade I don't see them repeating.

I think they may not ever replace it with anything. Cost cutting measure.

From what I've heard Disney isn't working on anything for November or December but could be working on something for January.

They are also working on something for the 50th of all goes well.

I couldn't agree more about FoF. I just don't want to see a repeat of it at night, as we speculated in the other thread, unless it's just a placeholder for something new. They are capable of amazing things, those imagineers.

FoF was especially amazing from the train station. Once, Flynn pointed directly at me and winked, at eye level. I about swooned the spot. :lovestruc

In my opinion this is what should happen with entertainment in the MK.

-FoF until new nighttime parade
-2017, new nightime parade
-2018, new halloween parade
-2019, new Christmas parade
-2020, full blown easter parade
-2021, 50th, Wishes replacement, along the lines of Disneyland Forever, and new daytime parade.

However the only ones I can see happening is a new nightime parade (not in the time frame given), FoF temporarily, Wishes replacement and a possible new daytime parade. I don't think Disney wants to make new seasonal pardes or have more on their schedule though.

Unfortunately that area is now roped off for VIP guests.

Yeah I know. Disney has really been capitalizing on all those things that used to be free. Sadly for me, as I refuse to pay for a VIP tour, FoF is best viewed from the platform.

I bet they will bring Paint the Night or something quite similar. It might be a little different as I don't think DL wants to give up their Paint the Night, but I still bet on MK getting either a clone of it or something very similar.

I'd love to see that, Paint the Night was absolutely spectacular, we got to see it last year at DL.

When a plan drops, a new plan sometimes includes placeholders .................. example: Jungle Book Alive.

In my opinion this is what should happen with entertainment in the MK.

In reverse I see:

-2021, 50th, new Nighttime Parade, probably brand new, new Wishes and new Celebrate It projection
-2020, I don't see Easter becoming any bigger than it is now and doubt funds will be spent on that
-2019, I don't see any funds spent to change it other than some characters, maybe a new Castle show
-2018, I don't see major funds spent but I do see maybe a couple new floats, some current just don't fit well
-2017, I do see a new nighttime parade but one they do not have to build from scratch ....
-2016, I do believe FoF is being fitted with enough lighting to run at night

I would love to see a purple glow on that dragon, the right lights could make the FoF parade cool.

Yeah, I didn't really see most that happening myself, it was wishful thinking really, just listing shat I think would be good and fun.

Just to note for 2016:
The Halloween Parade switched out some characters this year.

The Christmas Stage show for MVMCPs and then daily operations after the last party will be a new show.

For DL's 50th, there was a new day parade, fireworks, and DCL was sent to the West Coast for the very first time for the celebration.

I completely agree. We have loved all the parades in Disney. I still miss the Tapestry of Nations in Epcot and the Jammin' Jungle Parade in AK and the Stars and Motor Cars Parade in MGM or DHS or whatever they are calling it now.

Disney really needs to add more parades.

I had to quote you because I LOOOOOVED having the Tapestry of Nations parade before Illuminations. One of my favorite Disney memories.
