So, What is it Like With NO MK Night Time Parade? :((

Parade cutting saves them a ton of money and now people will be eating and shopping (along with riding) rather then waiting and watching.

It's disappointing though that they either have no plan yet or don't care to announce what it is.

I agree. I think parades cost big money and adding another night show at AK when attendance is down meant they needed to adjust somewhere else. I think they intend to replace it, but aren't going to be in any hurry about it.

The parade I miss, by far, is the Move it Shake it parade at HS. Tons of energy, fun characters, and great CM interaction.

For me, MSEP had gotten old and repetitive, but I REALLY don't like that there is no replacement!

I for one will miss the parade, and certainly hope they put something else I soon. I didn't see anything disappointing or hokey about it. It was fun to watch and I still thought the floats were fairly impressive. But I'm a holiday lighting junkie, so floats covered with pretty lights get my attention.

I understand that but different people have different priorities. People who make an occasional trip and can't come back whenever the Magic Kingdom decides to roll out a new parade are very disappointed not to be able to have one on this trip. My friend hasn't been in 3 years and we'll be there in three weeks. The parade is one of her favorite things in the Magic Kingdom. She has no idea when she will get back again so telling her a new parade might show up next year is absolutely no consolation to her.

yes some have said that the technology was used for MSEP upkeep and the floats themselves were recycled or whatever disney does so they don't exist to use anymore.

Well, bummer. I am a bit surprised that they closed MSEP without a replacement. The night time parade is one of those quintessential MK things.

I just looked it up and the only two night time parades ever at MK were MSEP and SpectroMagic. This is excepting parades during hard ticket events.

I believe DisneyFive is referring to Countdown to Fun or Block Party Bash - these were the last two parades in Studios.

Move It, Shake It has been at MK for years.

I don't think the outlook for parades at WDW is good. As mentioned above 4 parks used to have them, now one does, and that park is down to one only. I'm not optimistic that any new nighttime parade is coming to MK. I believe CtM was created as the preshow for Wishes and that's that. At least they still have FoF which is fabulous

The problem is that they are taking something away and not replacing it with anything.
It happens with all unpopular attractions. When they opened the Legend of Captain jack Sparrow at DHS most people didn't like it, said it was a waste of time, Disney closed it with no replacement, another empty building
Same with Stitch, most people don't like it, so it's closed and will only open seasonally for the rest of the year, another empty building
I would rather they keep these attractions open, even though they are not super popular but it gives a first timer something to do with low wait times, it gives Disney a chance to spread the crowds
it's obvious that it's a money saving decision

Sorry, yes I had the names mixed up. Whatever parade they had in 2010 and 2011 at Hollywood Studios. Loved that one in HS.

I bet they will bring Paint the Night or something quite similar. It might be a little different as I don't think DL wants to give up their Paint the Night, but I still bet on MK getting either a clone of it or something very similar.

I read that some Paint the Night floats are too big to go over the Liberty Square bridge.

Keep in mind that Rivers of Light should be starting soon at AK (allegedly).

Countdown to Fun!

That's the one! I have great memories of a wonderful CM pulling my younger daughter into the parade to dance with them. The energy, music and look of that parade really pulled you in and made you feel a part of it.

MSEP was incredible the first time we saw it, being new to us in 2010, but lost it's draw for us very quickly for some reason. I remember the first time we saw it, we stumbled on some great seats in that middle circle area across from the Train Station. The kids had huge cookies from the Main Street Confectionery to pass the time before the parade started, and the looks on their faces when the characters waved to them as they went by... ah, good memories.

I am super bummed about this. We will get to see the Christmas parade this trip, but we did plan another night at MK specifically to see MSEP. I worry too that there is no replacement or announcement that one's coming... I don't take that as a good sign. PTN was probably my favorite parade of all time, but I'm not holding my breath for that one... I'm hoping we can get to DLR to see MSEP before it's retired forever.... I need them to announce when that will be so I can plan! I do wonder how much of an impact it will have on crowd flow. This has not been a good year for us and Disney, too much budget cutting happening - it's really casting a shadow on our excitement level.

Maybe we all need to express these sentiments directly to Disney. If they get enough demand, maybe they'll give us a new parade.
