So what if you won the lottery?

If we hit the lottery, this is how it would be spent:
1) Tithe- 10% goes to church
2) Pay off all debt - house, bills etc.
3) Buy new cars
4) Put away enough to finish paying off private school for DD ages 7 and 11.
5) College fund for dds
6) Make sure our parents and siblings have their bills paid off
7) Buy enough points at multiple resorts to have gv for 2 weeks at least twice year. And not have to worry about such a strict budget while on vacation!

I would definately quit work, but my DH would never quit. Especially if the jackpot is only $3million. He's determined to work until he's at least 60. (that's another 25 years!)

Sticking to the topic, taking about 1/2 million out for expenses and bills, would probably only go up to 1,000 points. That should give us the opportunity to stay when ever we wanted at what ever size. Probably only 2 br as teens don't want to go now. Rest of the money would probably just go to pay for meals and admissions. However, I'd probably splurge and get daily house-keeping.

If I won the lottery, I don't know if I could quit work, but, believe me, I sure would try. I've been a teacher for 30 years, and this is not a good time to be a teacher, a Walmart greeter perhaps. That's my goal when I retire:p Seriously, this is what I would do with $3 mill:
1. pay off my mortgage
2. remodel my house
3. pay off all bills
4. pay off my kids' bills
5. put money away for kids
6. enlarge retirement fund
7. invest
8. buy 2000 pts at each resort so I could winter in Florida at all the DVC resorts

I just paid off my mortgage this year so I would have to;
Pay off the bills
Put away enough to pay the taxes
Fix up the house
Buy a new car
And yes buy more points!
Then if there is anything left over buy points for my sister and her kids.
Then figure out how to turn OKW into a retirement home for those surviving DVC members in 2042!

Okay, for $3m I would neither quit working or buy more points. Pretty happy with the points I have now (515 total). Any expansion of travel would likely be non-Disney any way. I would use the $3m to improve balance sheet, fund retirement and pay for college for kids.

Now if it were $7m, then I could see significant changes in how I spend my time. Probably stop my current profession and do something to benefit kids.

It would be so much fun to go to WDW and not have to worry about money at all :sunny: [/B][/QUOTE]

Personally, the quote above speaks for itself! My DH would proberly want to stay in a suite for 2 weeks at the comtemporary tower...that is his most favorite spot at DW. If talking about the villas then of course it would have to be a grandvilla somewhere, doesn't matter where the location is, just anywhere to get away and figure out what the heck we were going to do with the rest of the money, then figure out when everyone that we know includiing family and friends would start coming out of the woodworks for some of that money, etc. lol

I personally would really start to use my DVC to its full extent. I would first have to buy more points (what is the limit?) then I would start to plan out my travels. There is so much opportunity using DVC to travel around the world, I would put it to some good use there. Just planning my trips is relaxation enough for me, but to have money and plan with no worries, ah ha! then that is a bonus.

Just my thoughts,
cheryl

1 yr at okw 2br = 14066 points
price 1,181,544.00
dues 56,264.00/ year
annual passes 3016.00 TOTAL 1,240,824.00
no mortgage
all repairs paid for
broken appliances replaced

smile on families faces PRICELESS

LETS START PLANNING YEARLONG VACATIONS

Pay off mind and my sister's debt--car, house, ect.

Pay off my children's debt--school loans, house, etc

Put some money aside for my brother. He is handicapped and will always need care.

Buy a home in East TN to be near my children.

Quit work-after all 33 years is enough. My sister can quit, too!

Buy enough points to vacation every 2 or 3 months in a GV.

Save enough to live on the interest so I don't have to touch the principal. That way the money goes on forever and all my future grandchildren will have some.

I would get enough points for 1 week in a GV and 3 weeks in a 2 bdrm.

I LOVE that, joe911!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p :D :p
