"So what do you want to do next?" An April '10 TR...final thoughts 8/2 p. 63

According to your August '09 trip report, you beat me that time (by a lot) the only time we were able to do TSM. You have to remember that I got 3 extra practice games in on my trip in January, and after awhile you do get some ideas on what to shoot for. In the last game I think you were ahead of me the whole way, but I nosed you out in the last gallery. You were improving with each game as the trip went on, so I think we are equally good (or bad) at the game.

haha oh yeah, I took a picture of that score. I should find a list of cheats like we did for Buzz Lightyear. Maybe there are some big targets.

Love the carpet bag comment!!! Very clever! :rotfl:

I think your Donald Duck is pretty good!!! I want to try that class sometime, I'm NOT good at drawing whatsoever, but maybe they can turn me into an artist. ;)

They replaced the Up characters with Lotso from TS3, right? Just Lotso? Why the naughty bear??? :confused3 So strange.

I know, I thought that was pretty funny when she said that.

Trust me, if Dad and I can do the animation academy and have our drawings turn out decent, then anyone can do it. I am a HORRIBLE drawer. But they make it so easy.

Yep, they did replace the Up characters with Lotso. It is strange that they chose him. I am still going to meet him though I think. haha

Sounds like a fun evening.

The Sci-Fi is such a fun restaurant. I do miss the popcorn they used to bring out at the beginning of the meal. It really added to the atmosphere. THey haven't done that the last few times we went. :confused3

Love the picture with Mary Poppins and the penguins.

Ohh, they used to bring out popcorn? I wonder when they stopped doing that. We've eaten there a couple times and I don't remember ever getting popcorn.

Thanks! I was so excited to see another new character. Loved the penguins!

Your Donald Duck looks pretty good to me. I do not want to even see what my drawing would look like.

Aww, I'm sure it would turn out fine.

I'm trying to think about whether or not I'd want to try Sci-Fi or 50s Prime Time in the future. Haha, it's in the far off future, but I think they'd both be such fun experiences! The only thing is that I'd have to be in the mood to potentially be picked on at 50s. Sci-Fi is just something that Weird and I would LOVE because it was a room in Virtual Magic Kingdom.

vmkbadlooks.jpg

Haha, Weird is being odd and asking that question because there was a girl that was saying he could be cuter or something like that? So it was actually a pretty funny situation! She wanted to give him a "makeover." Weird's standing in the middle of the room, and I'm sitting on one of the separate benches with the maroon tank.

ANYWAY, haha, that's just to say that every time I hear about Sci-Fi, I get a little excited! Plus, I know Weird would love the challenge of photographing in the dark, haha.

Love the carpet bag comment! I wonder what it's like to think on the spot for things like that. I mean, I'm sure they have a bunch of things they've said a few times before, but what about when they first start off as that character? Haha, gotta watch the movie a lot, I guess!

I'm surprised how much I loved Animation Academy! I mean, I knew I wanted to do it and I knew Weird would love it (he's the one with more artsy skill; I like words better, haha), but I was afraid that it'd be too difficut. Thankfully, we had a good guy and a smaller class so it was less intimidating.

And your Donald looks like Donald, as you said. Sometimes it's fun to get the ones that don't come out as good as others!

Oh, that poor woman on TOT!

We've eaten at both the Sci-Fi and Prime Time and both are a blast. It is a riot seeing people get "yelled" at. One time we went though our "mom" was pretty tame. But when my parents and sister were there over spring break once their server got mad at Emma because she didn't eat her vegetables so she has a picture of him trying to feed it to her. I'd post it but I don't think she'd approve of that. It is quite funny actually. :lmao: I am really tempted to see if we could by chance get in there in August.

Ever since reading Kingdom Keepers I kind of wish VMK was still around! I never played it but now I want to. LOL.

I was so nervous doing the Animation Academy for the first time. I can be kind of a perfectionist and didn't want my drawing to turn out like garbage. LOL. But I love it! I'm going to drag my sisters in there in August. :thumbsup2

:lmao: I know, I felt kind of bad for her but she was so entertaining to listen to.

Before we begin our last full park day I should mention that the previous night at DHS there is one other attraction we did that I forgot to write about...One Man's Dream! Dad really wanted to see the movie there so we spent a few minutes looking at the displays before seeing the film. It was a really neat story of Walt Disney. Really makes you appreciate all he did. :goodvibes

OK, now onto Sunday. For our last full park day we decided to head back to the Magic Kingdom. We were up early again for park opening (though not quite as early as our first day, haha!). An early morning shot of Kidani Village...

We made it to the park in time for the opening show. Still a great show, but it seemed a little sadder that morning since it was nearing the end of our trip. :sad1: You always hope the time will go by a little slower but it never happens. But we still had a full day ahead of us and we were going to have a great time! Once the park was officially open it was off to Tomorrowland again! Space Mountain was calling our names for one more ride. I loved this sign in there, giving a nod to the year SM opened in 1975.

28349_641341803924_20305212_36913168_2535003_n.jpg

Then, following our usual Tomorrowland plan we ventured over toward Buzz Lightyear to battle Zurg. At the end of the ride I looked for the mural that supposedly contains Stitch hiding in it. I found it...though I do not know how you would ever know it is Stitch in there. It was so teeny tiny you needed a magnifying glass to see it! :confused3 I think he is in that little capsule in the middle of the spaceship. LOL.

Since we hadn't done much in Fantasyland that was our next destination. We stopped to ride the Mad Tea Party first. I think we had to wait one or two cycles. While we were waiting, though, I saw Alice walking toward the ride. She joined a little girl and rode with her!

28349_641341813904_20305212_36913170_4038741_n.jpg

I am pretty sure that I saw the girl had a "1st Visit" button on. What a great memory for her. It was so cute when they were walking away. She must've gotten a little meet and greet with her too. Awww. Gotta love Disney.

As we continued our way through Fantasyland we made stops at Winnie the Pooh and Snow White. I took this picture of Dumbo from the line of Snow White. I am determined to ride Dumbo on our trip in August!

Sorry for the lack of description in this update. Even though we still had Monday morning, we all know that the last day is kind of sad and I always hate writing about them. :rolleyes1 Plus, we are only 3 WEEKS away from our August trip so I'm determined to get this TR finished up before we go! :yay:

up next: more Magic Kingdom fun

Awww your last park day. :sad1: So sad but so fitting it was at MK.

It's been so long since I rode Space Mountain! You'd have to recognize that scene from Lilo and Stitch to know where Stitch is in the spaceship. What a cute touch!

I love it when the characters give special moments like Alice did to families. Memories to last a lifetime!

I kind of addicted to the animation academy too. It's so fun, and different every time. When we were there in January, the building was just crawling with characters but no guests. It was great!

So sad about your last day! Alice on the tea cups is so cute. It probably totally made that little girl's trip.

I bought the hidden magic book since you keep talking about it and it sounded awesome, and I just read the part about Stitch. I would never be able to find that - good job!

Yay for 3 weeks!!!:cool1:

WOW, you're up to your last full park day already? Haha, I'm so behind. Of course, I don't have another trip in 3 weeks that's pushing me to finish ;)

We found Stitch in the mural too! I never would have thought it was him. I guess it's the spaceship that suggests it too? I don't know; I wouldn't have though it was if I hadn't read about it.

I thought about riding Dumbo in April because it's the original one before they change it so that it's the two separate ones. We never got a chance to though because if I had to pick between any of the other Fantasyland rides and Dumbo, I'd choose the former. Just not enough time in the day!

Oh yeah, you'll get to see some of the renovations!

i'msad your trip report is coming to an end!! i've thoroughly enjoyed it!! :)

however i do want to hear more!!

Ooops, I missed this update.

Too funny about the Mary Poppins carpet bag!

I really like your Donald! I'm telling you, I can't WAIT to try the animation academy. Such fun!

Whoa on the freaking out ToT lady. Any first timers run the other way listening to her? :scared:

I love that Alice rides the tea cups. I think it is the neatest thing ever and surely makes a very magical memory for the lucky child!! Same with Goofy riding Barnstormer when they open Toontown...just LOVE that!!

I had no idea there was a little Stitch in Buzz Lightyear!

What time is Opening Ceremony? I guess a better way of asking is do they start it right when the park opens or 10 minutes before? I am trying to plan if we will get to see it before our 900am ADR at Crystal Palace on a day the park opens at 900am.

Great updates!:thumbsup2 Glad you enjoyed your dinner at Sci-Fi!:thumbsup2

So cool about the extra characters in the Animation Building! I know it was a nice surprise when we saw them.:) Great picture with Mary Poppins and love the carpet bag comment!:rotfl:

YAY for seeing Alice on the teacups too! What a nice memory for that little girl!

:woohoo: for 3 weeks!!

Wow, you are really posting a lot of reports. I guess since you only have 3 weeks left, you need to keep on schedule. I loved the pic of TOT in Morocco, very cool. The mini golf looks like fun, but it is hard to find time to do everything on a short trip. Funny story about TOT Mom, I used to freak out about rides. I hope someone did not trick her into riding. It is a scary ride, I know I used to just shake after getting off the ride, but I have gotten much better.
Space mountain will be going thru a rehab soon, right? Will it be open when you go in August? Or did it already have the upgrade? Maybe I should have checked that out. I like the DL version, where you sit next to one another. It was also much darker on the ride.
Your Donald is so cute, you did a great job. I just love that attraction, I think many people overlook it while they are there.

Yeah, it is our last FULL park day. Since our flight Monday was a little later than usual we were able to squeeze in a few last moments at a park...popcorn:: ;)

We love Space Mountain! It was a neat touch but maybe they could have made the Stitch just a tad bigger. I could barely even tell it was him! Although maybe that was the point.

I have to admit, I was kind of jealous of that girl. haha

I kind of addicted to the animation academy too. It's so fun, and different every time. When we were there in January, the building was just crawling with characters but no guests. It was great!

Yay for 3 weeks!!!:cool1:

I am so glad I finally decided to try the Animation Academy. I had been reading so many reports with people doing it and it sounded so fun. And I love how you then get a souvenir to take home.

Yay for buying the Hidden Magic book! It is great, isn't it?

WOW, you're up to your last full park day already? Haha, I'm so behind. Of course, I don't have another trip in 3 weeks that's pushing me to finish ;)

hehe yeah, I don't know if I'd be able to do to actual trip reports at one time. So this one needs to get finished...it's taken long enough! LOL.

I would never have even noticed it if it weren't for the book!

Well...actually, that isn't the original Dumbo. ;) Back our first few trips there were fewer elephants on it. If you've ever seen the Disney Full House I am pretty sure that one is on there. It had blue arms instead of the red ones. I should see if I have a picture of it.

i'msad your trip report is coming to an end!! i've thoroughly enjoyed it!! :)

however i do want to hear more!!

I am sad too but hey, I'll have a new one to start in a few weeks!

Ooops, I missed this update.

Whoa on the freaking out ToT lady. Any first timers run the other way listening to her? :scared:

I thought Mary Poppins' comment was pretty cute. :)

Thanks! I can't wait to do it again and see what character we'll get to do. It is such a fun attraction.

LOL, hopefully not. I wish I had bought the ride picture.

Aww, that's cool that Goofy rides the Barnstormer too. I didn't know that.

I didn't either! Thank you Hidden Magic book.

What time is Opening Ceremony? I guess a better way of asking is do they start it right when the park opens or 10 minutes before? I am trying to plan if we will get to see it before our 900am ADR at Crystal Palace on a day the park opens at 900am.

Yeah, I'd say 10 minutes before opening is about right. They usually make little announcements too, like that it'll be starting in five minutes and such.

Great updates!:thumbsup2 Glad you enjoyed your dinner at Sci-Fi!:thumbsup2

Thanks Angie!

It really was neat to see all the extra characters in the Animation building. Too bad there were kind of a lot of people waiting to see them.

haha yup, I have to finish this one before starting one for August.

We love to play mini golf when we can but I understand about it being hard to squeeze in. Heck, it was hard enough finding time when we're there for 5 full days!

Hmm, I am not sure about the Space Mountain refurb. I think when I was looking at the MK schedule I saw refurbs and didn't see any mention of SM. But I will have to check that out. I would hate to miss it! :( The first time we went to Disneyland was when they were refurbing SM for the 50th anniversary. In '06 we got to ride it. I liked how you sat side by side too.

Ohh, they used to bring out popcorn? I wonder when they stopped doing that. We've eaten there a couple times and I don't remember ever getting popcorn.

I know that they did it back in the 90s. I don't remember them doing it in the past decade. It was such a perfect little detail to add to the experience.

As for you latest chapter, nice picture of the Space Mountain queue. I thought the 75 tribute was a nice touch too.

How cool that you got to see Alice on the teacups. That's always so fun to see.

I have got to start reading that Hidden Magic book. I quit reading it because it was a gift for DH, after all, and I was going to let him read it first. I don't think he's reading it, though. :scared1: That means it's my turn, right?

I can see how the opening show would be sad on your last day...:sad1:

I have to add my two cents worth about Mary Poppins. I don't get that many pictures with characters, but I do like to get them occasionally with some of the old favorites: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Tigger, etc. I usually only do pictures with face character princesses.

Somebody mentioned before that it can be difficult for adults to know what to say to the face characters, but, I had a fun exchange with Practically Perfect Mary. Because we saw the musical on Broadway last year, I said "We saw you on Broadway last year and you were wonderful!". She smiled and replied "You're too kind."

OK, then maybe they stopped doing that before our first time eating there. That would've been neat though.

It was a cool thing to see Alice on "her" ride.

haha, yeah, I say if he's not reading it take it! It is a fun read.

The opening show is always a lot sadder near the end of the trip. :sad2:

hahaha I don't remember that.

Great updates, Sarah!

Love your Donald Duck drawing! You did a great job!

Thank you! And thanks for the compliment on my Donald. :)

Aww, thats sweet that little girl got to ride with Alice!
That's cool about the Stitch thingy... of course I was completly confused because I kept thinking "Stitch... and Buzz? I don't think they're from the same movie" lol

LOL. No, they aren't from the same movie. ;)

Hi Sarah! Great update. You are going to be gone again in no time you lucky lady!

We were lucky to see Alice riding with some small children last May when we rode the teacups. I think it is the sweetest thing ever and you know those children had to be :cloud9:. Sooooo special!
