"So what do you want to do next?" An April '10 TR...final thoughts 8/2 p. 63

How did that work again? I think we just got on a bus to AKL from Blizzard Beach, but it stopped at Epcot first. I don't think we had to change buses.

Yeah, you're right, I just realized that. It wouldn't even make sense to have to go back to the park since the resorts have buses going to the water parks. I know we went back to Epcot when we stopped to visit OKW.

That Princess Auroa is a little frightening.

My boyfriend saw me reading it and has now decided that we should go play mini-golf (or "putt-putt") when we go down :rotfl:

haha, the mini golf is fun! You should do it.

Meeting Aladdin :lovestruc is a high priority for me this trip. I love him (Aladdin's been one of my favorite movies since I was little), but I've never met him. It sounds like he's a pretty cool guy to meet.

Winter Summerland looks so cool!! One of these trips, I am going to find time to squeeze a round of mini-golf in.

He was cool, so if you do meet him hopefully you'll have a good interaction too!

I know what you mean, it is sometimes hard to squeeze in those other things besides the parks. But it's worth it. :thumbsup2

nice pics from WS!!! It's been years since I went to WS..we always go to Fantasia Gardens!

We've played at Fantasia Gardens too...just not the Fantasia Fairways course! LOL.

Love all of the mini golf pictures. We want to try that next trip. And I didn't know you got 50% off with an AP. That is a great thing to know! (Just hope I remember it when we go in January.)

Yup, it is 50%! Since we're DVC members a lot of times Dad will ask if there is a discount for DVC or AP holders.

Kim's friend is Wade. Um, I think. Haha, the guy who gave us our Kimmunicator was dead serious (in a fun way) about our mission. I loved that he treated it like a real mission even though I'm obviously not a kid! I do wish we had the option to do another mission!

Weird, Matt, and I all loved the return slots! We got excited when we saw the one in France even though we weren't there for our mission.

I like your Aladdin photo! It's a unique pic because if he's normally with Jasmine, that pose isn't as easily done, haha. But oy, looking at Aurora in the sun in that costume makes me sweaty!

Haha, love the elves in the sand!

I think you might be right about that. I've been reading the 3rd KK book and I guess that's why I thought of Wayne even though that didn't sound right. But Wade sounds familiar.

That is awesome the guy was so serious about your mission. And that is still a bummer that you weren't able to choose to do another mission. :(

Wow.. saving the world twice in one day. You must be exhausted! :rotfl: How cool you have a good interaction with Aladdin! We never seem to have any luck with face characters. They look at us like "no kids" and don't really talk to us.

We've never been mini-golfing at Disney. We like mini-golfing, so I don't know why we haven't. Thanks for the tip about the AP discount, I didn't realize it was 50%! I think we're going to go in September!

I know what you mean, usually that's what it's like for us too. Boo.

You're welcome! If you like mini golfing you'll have a blast playing in WDW!

Glad you had fun doing the KP missions!

We've never done mini-golf at Disney. That course looks cute-I like all the funny gag lines.

The course is really neat with all the little details and the signs. Love it!

Um, why is Sleeping Beauty so pale and ah, creepy looking? I can't wait to do more KP missions. Norway and Germany sound fun!

I like your Aladdin picture! You can tell you're having a blast. It's so fun when the characters interact with you.

The mini golfing looks like tons of fun. Love all your pictures. Some day we'll get there!

LOL, good question. Norway is definitely next on my list for KP missions. I want to say the "Vikings are all the rage" line. :rotfl:

Oh, you should've seen one of the photopass pictures I had with Aladdin. It looked liked I was cracking up the whole time. In that one I really looked like a dork!

Glad you liked the mini golf pictures. :)

The KP missions are so much fun! Glad you were able to save Germany too!!:thumbsup2 Great picture with Aladdin!! Love your mini-golf pics! We were supposed go in April too...but then we changed our plans and we missed out again. Hopefully, we can make it next time! The boys love playing mini-golf!:)

Aww, that stinks you weren't able to go in April. But yes, you should see if you can fit it in on your next trip. We love it.

It's cool that they are giving out golf balls again. When we played Fantasia golf in November we received stich golf balls. But when we played WinterLand in February, they gave us stinkin candy canes. How does a small candy cane compare to a golf ball.:rotfl:

Nice update.

Germany might be my favorite Kim Possible mission that I've done so far. :thumbsup2

Sounds like you had a fun meet-and-greet with Aladdin.

Love the pics of WS! I've never been there, always something we mean to do, but never do! I've only ever seen a handful of pictures too. I love how the course looks like blue water on the one hole and then the elves buried in the sand. :rotfl2: So creative!

Cute pics from mini golf, we've only played the winter side - gotta go back and do the summer side too :thumbsup2

I have to agree with the others that have said that Auroa is pretty scary looking - she's so pale!

We got the Stitch balls from Fantasia Gardens too. At WS we got a Daisy Duck one. I can't believe they just gave out candy canes! LOL.

Nice update.

Thanks. I really enjoyed the Germany mission. And Aladdin was awesome!

It is a really cute course. And it's cool because the two courses both end at the same spot. They are separate holes but they end kind of the same way. Does that make any sense?! LOL.

Oh, and on the winter course it is of course white to look like snow. :thumbsup2

Yeah, you should do the summer side. Like I said I always thought winter was a little easier. I swear on some of the holes they funnel your ball right into the hole.

The KP mission looks really cool! I've seen so many TRs with people trying them, I hope we get a chance to NEXT WEEK

Glad you have fun at Winter Summerland...another piece of Disney I've never experienced and will have to!

Cute pic of you and Aladdin! It's so fun when you meet a character who is really into it & friendly.

I'm dying to golf at Winter Summerland! I love mini golf, and Disney plus mini golf equals AWESOMENESS :) Here in NYC the 1 or 2 courses we have are boring and aren't decorated or anything.

Beautiful WS and Flower and Garden pics Sarah! It's nice to see other people's pics because I didn't realize how much we had missed! I really like your pics with the characters too, I think I will have to get in a few more face character pics next trip!! Mini-golf looks like a lot of fun! We have to add that to our list too! Thanks for sharing all those pictures, it gives me a great look at the fun courses!!!:goodvibes

I hope you get to do one of the missions too. They are a lot of fun.

Ahh you have to do mini golfing too! See, this is why it's so great going back so often...you have to try all these different things!

Yeah, I really liked that Aladdin. He was cool. :thumbsup2

The Disney mini golf courses are definitely better than other ones. The theming is great and there are also some interactive things as well (i.e. squirting water, flashing lights.).

I always enjoy looking at other people's pictures too. Even if you get pics of the same thing it's fun to see their perspective on them. It was great getting to meet some of the face characters for a change, especially ones that I have never met before!

I guess I was behind!

KP Missions and Mini-Golf--two of my favorites!

I skipped your Japan one, even though it turns out you probably didn't put in too many spoilers, but I didn't know that until I read about your Germany mission. I was able to read Germany because we did that one too! I think the KP missions were a great idea! You really get to see a lot of cool things you may not have even taken the time to explore in before!

Looks like golf was fun for you, too! :goodvibes

Yeah, I didn't really say too much about the missions since I know people probably don't want it to be spoiled. I agree, the KP missions were a great addition. I hope they add them to the rest of the countries!

We loved mini golfing as usual. :)

Your post made me really want to do two things I haven't before. The Kim Possible missions and miniature golf. I wonder about the Kim Possible missions though. How do you get the Kimmunicator and does it feel weird being an adult going to get one? I would love this though because I actually remember watching the premiere of the show with my little brother and I probably have seen every episode.

Yay! You should do mini golfing and the KP missions! To get a Kimmunicator you just go to Innoventions to get a "fastpass" (or there is a station on the walkway between Future World and World Showcase) that will give you a return time and a country to pick up your phone. I would really not worry about being an adult doing it. Yeah, you'll mostly see kids wandering around with them but I've seen a few adults doing them too! They are a lot of fun. :thumbsup2

Saturday, April 10, 2010 cont'd (part 6)

When we got back to Kidani, we ended up going down by the pool area.

28349_641341768994_20305212_36913162_7526185_n.jpg

I know they had music playing and I think they might have been about to start Bingo. We spent a few minutes at the pool before going back to our room. I think we kind of got lost in the parking structure on the way back in. Oops.

For the evening, we had an ADR at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater so we ended up over at Hollywood Studios again. We were called pretty quickly before being escorted to our car. I love how you eat in cars! It was a little bit strange though…since it was just me and Dad we ended up sharing a car with this other couple. The CM told them they would be paying our bill. Haha For dinner I ended up getting a cheeseburger and Dad got a chicken sandwich. While we waited for our food we enjoyed watching the cheesy sci-fi films and old drive-in ads, like telling you to go get a snack from the snack bar. Hilarious. Dinner was pretty good. We skipped dessert since we were so full but I was super jealous of the lady in front of us. I think it was her birthday so they brought her this huge ice cream sundae. I should’ve asked if I could have some since they ended up NOT paying for our food. ;)

After dinner we went over to the Animation building again because I wanted to do one of my new favorite attractions again, the Animation Academy! But before we got in line for that I noticed there were a lot of characters out for pictures. Normally you’ve got Sorcerer Mickey, the Incredibles and at that time, the Up characters. That night there were tons of other ones too though! I’m pretty sure Snow White was there, Pocahontas and Meeko, and Mary Poppins and a couple of the penguins. Another new character for me! So we ended up getting a picture with Mary Poppins. It was so cute because I had my Vera Bradley bag and she told me she liked my carpet bag. Hehe!

28349_641341773984_20305212_36913163_751768_n.jpg

The only bad thing was that it kind of took forever to get our picture because there was this group in front of us who I swear, they were trying to get a picture of every combination of people in their group and with everyone’s cameras. GRRRRR. So annoying. Atleast we eventually got one though.

Then we went back to the Animation Academy holding area. It was starting to get pretty full and the CM was telling people he wasn’t sure if they’d get in. We missed getting into that session by a few people. I still wanted to do it so we took a quick bathroom break and got back in line. I’m telling you, I was becoming kind of addicted to the academy! It was so much fun. Oh, and I was pretty proud of how my first drawing turned out so I was hoping to do another good one.

Here's my blank "canvas"...

For that session the character we were going to draw was Donald Duck. I don’t think our instructor was quite as good as our first one. Not that he was bad or anything, I just don’t think he explained things as well as the other guy. I kept falling behind and didn’t know where I was supposed to draw the lines and all. So this is how my Donald came out:

28349_641436184784_20305212_36917367_1639769_n.jpg

He looks really funny to me! I think I forgot to shade his beak or something and he has a chicken neck. Dad’s turned out a lot better than mine. Oh well, atleast you can still tell who he’s supposed to be.

Originally we thought we might go see Fantasmic that night but I ended up wanting to go ride Toy Story Mania again. We had to wait a little bit longer than we usually would but it was fine. Pretty sure I lost again too. One of these trips I’ll beat Dad!

We ended our night with another ride on Tower of Terror. That was one of the most entertaining rides ever. As we were standing on our spots waiting to board the elevator, this one lady started freaking out. Her kids kept telling her to stop. I really think that after we boarded she wanted to get off but it was too late. So basically the whole time she was screaming and just going nuts. Meanwhile, Dad and I are cracking up because it was so funny. I don’t know if she got tricked into going on it or what but I hope she was OK. It kind of took her a while then to get off. Maybe she was just scared out of her mind.

And with that, we said good-bye to Hollywood Studios for this trip. :(

Up next: Our last full park day

According to your August '09 trip report, you beat me that time (by a lot) the only time we were able to do TSM. You have to remember that I got 3 extra practice games in on my trip in January, and after awhile you do get some ideas on what to shoot for. In the last game I think you were ahead of me the whole way, but I nosed you out in the last gallery. You were improving with each game as the trip went on, so I think we are equally good (or bad) at the game.

Love the carpet bag comment!!! Very clever! :rotfl:

I think your Donald Duck is pretty good!!! I want to try that class sometime, I'm NOT good at drawing whatsoever, but maybe they can turn me into an artist. ;)

They replaced the Up characters with Lotso from TS3, right? Just Lotso? Why the naughty bear??? :confused3 So strange.

Sounds like a fun evening.

The Sci-Fi is such a fun restaurant. I do miss the popcorn they used to bring out at the beginning of the meal. It really added to the atmosphere. THey haven't done that the last few times we went. :confused3

Love the picture with Mary Poppins and the penguins.

Your Donald Duck looks pretty good to me. I do not want to even see what my drawing would look like.

I'm trying to think about whether or not I'd want to try Sci-Fi or 50s Prime Time in the future. Haha, it's in the far off future, but I think they'd both be such fun experiences! The only thing is that I'd have to be in the mood to potentially be picked on at 50s. Sci-Fi is just something that Weird and I would LOVE because it was a room in Virtual Magic Kingdom.

vmkbadlooks.jpg

Haha, Weird is being odd and asking that question because there was a girl that was saying he could be cuter or something like that? So it was actually a pretty funny situation! She wanted to give him a "makeover." Weird's standing in the middle of the room, and I'm sitting on one of the separate benches with the maroon tank.

ANYWAY, haha, that's just to say that every time I hear about Sci-Fi, I get a little excited! Plus, I know Weird would love the challenge of photographing in the dark, haha.

Love the carpet bag comment! I wonder what it's like to think on the spot for things like that. I mean, I'm sure they have a bunch of things they've said a few times before, but what about when they first start off as that character? Haha, gotta watch the movie a lot, I guess!

I'm surprised how much I loved Animation Academy! I mean, I knew I wanted to do it and I knew Weird would love it (he's the one with more artsy skill; I like words better, haha), but I was afraid that it'd be too difficut. Thankfully, we had a good guy and a smaller class so it was less intimidating.

And your Donald looks like Donald, as you said. Sometimes it's fun to get the ones that don't come out as good as others!

Oh, that poor woman on TOT!
