"So what do you want to do next?" An April '10 TR...final thoughts 8/2 p. 63

Yay for Lee! How great that you got to see him for a bit.

As an aside - you totally confused my DH who was reading over my shoulder.

Him: "Wait why are there pictures of Summerfest? I thought this was about Disney."

I scrolled down, "it is about Disney - see"

Him: "Woah, how are there pictures of summerfest?"

Me : Blink Blink "we're not the only people that live in Milwaukee and go to Disney"

Him: "There are other people from Milwaukee on the DIS? Really"

Me: Blink Blink "go get more coffee"

So I'd like to thank you for confusing him! :rotfl::rotfl:

Your F&G pictures are great. We were there during it last year, but all the flowers made me so sneezy I was miserable, so we didn't visit them really. Your pictures are great! And hypo-allergenic - Bonus!

Happy 4th to you as well! :goodvibes

Love your F&G pics, I think the Fairy Garden might have been my favorite display out of all of them!

Awesome about seeing Lee, that's pretty cool!

Oh your F&G pics are awesome, especially the Tinkerbell ones(:

That is very exciting for you that you got to meet Lee! it is strange that the security wouldn't let them stay out with the fans if that is what they wanted to do though

I am loving everyones pics of the F&GF! I will make it some year, it's so beautiful!!

How exciting that you were able to meet Lee. We love AI too!

I love the F&G pictures. They are awesome. It amazes me what they do at Disney for the festival each year. So beautiful.

Since you are such a huge fan you should have gone to the AI summerfest concert, was it expensive? Such a beautiful night though to hang out waiting for autographs.
I thought the Princess and the Frog display at F&GF was disappointing. So many of the other princesses were beautiful topiaries. Maybe next year?

I love all of your F&G pictures! I would love to get to their someday, but we always have to schedule around school. So my someday will probably have to be in 15 years. Hope they are still doing it.

I hope you get to go someday to see the F&GF. It's a neat event.

:rotfl::rotfl: That is great. Yes, there are other people from Milwaukee who DIS. Tell your DH that your Milwaukee DIS friend says HI!!!

I loved the fairy garden. So cute.

I was so glad we got to see Lee. He was definitely the best this season. :cloud9:

I know! When they've had the tour here before (granted it was at a different venue) they've let them come out and we've gotten pictures with them. Maybe they'll loosen up as the tour goes on. The show here was only their second performance.

How exciting that you were able to meet Lee. We love AI too!

It definitely made all the waiting worth it even if I only got to see him through a fence. He was so nice. :goodvibes

Glad you liked the F&GF pictures!

When we were looking at tickets they did have a 2 for 1 deal where you could get pretty good seats for $60 or so. But like I said, this season there weren't too many people we liked so we didn't know if we wanted to pay to see Lee and maybe a couple others. Usually though the people I can't stand on the show are decent and it's always a lot of fun. I sort of wish we had stayed but oh well. I'll be waiting for Lee to have a solo tour. Love him!

I agree, the other princess topiaries were great. I hope they change the Princess and the Frog one for next year.

So cool you got to see Lee and get his autograph! I really like him too! :thumbsup2

Isn't the F&GF just so beautiful?! You're making me want to go again during that time lol

I do wish they could have done more with the Princess and the Frog section...that movie is great and deserves more than cardboard cutouts! Like you said, hopefully next year :goodvibes

YAY! for seeing Lee!!! He was definitely my favorite this year...so excited for you!!!:yay:

Beautiful F&G pictures!! Great butterfly shot!:thumbsup2 I tried....but mine is so far away compared to yours. Good job!:)

We missed the Princess and the Frog display. It looks pretty...but I wish they would have had a few topiaries as well.

Hope you had a nice 4th of July!!:goodvibes

Lee is amazing. So glad he won. :cool1:

LOL! The Flower and Garden Festival is so neat. It must be fun to be a local and just say hey, let's go over to Epcot and look at the flowers.

It was so funny because everyone was freaking out when he came out. I can't wait for his album. hehe

Thanks! I think it landed on a plant right near the walkway and I just used the zoom on my camera.

The Princess and the Frog display was definitely pretty, just kind of cheap compared to some of the other ones. Oh well.

Hope you had a good 4th too Angie!

Hey Sarah! I don't think I posted on your Father's Day frame..... VERY nice! I love that as a project for my kids too. Homemade presents are the best!

Very cool that you got Lee's autograph! :cool1: Beautiful F&G pictures... I can't wait for the chance to see them... whenever that may be!

Hope you had a great 4th of July!

Yay for meeting Lee!!! :cool1: Also, your F & G pictures are to die for. I would love to see it in person! Glad you got the chance!

Pixie Hollow does look pretty cool. Your photos of the topiaries were great.

Nice to see The Princess and the Frog was including, but add me to the list of people who would like to see a fancier one with a topiary or two next year.

Thanks Tracy! It was a really fun project and pretty easy too.

It was nice getting Lee's autograph. Would've been even nicer to get a picture with him...:rolleyes1 hehe Hopefully you'll get to see the F&GF soon!

Glad you liked the pictures. They don't really do the flowers justice but they did turn out pretty good.

Thanks meeko. Hopefully for next year they will improve the Princess and the Frog area. It would be really neat to see a Tiana/Naveen topiary.

Great pics Sarah! Very cool to see Lee from AI. That's a bummer that their security wasn't letting the Idols come out to greet fans! Grrrrrrr...

Beautiful pics from the Fairy Garden, they were really pretty and I was also kinda confused about the Princess and the Frog cut-outs. They looked cute though in their little setting. That was sweet of your dad to ask for a sticker for his "little girl" :flower3:!

I know, I don't get why their security was such a pain.

Glad you liked the pictures. I thought the fairies were super cute and the Princess and the Frog display was cool even if it was just cut-outs. I was glad I got one of those stickers, haha.

Saturday, April 10, 2010 cont'd (part 3)

After exploring some of the gardens we headed back to the Land. Nope, we didn’t do Soarin again but instead did Living with the Land. There weren’t too many people at all in line for that so we were able to get right on. This is where I overheard an interesting conversation. Behind us, there was a mother and her daughter. I didn’t see her but she was maybe 7 or 8? Anyways, they get on the ride and the little girl asks “Is this a scary ride?” HUH?! Her mother told her no and that she needed to stop asking if everything was scary. I am really wondering what she went on that traumatized her so badly. LOL!

So off we go on our journey through the various environments. The girl seems to be doing OK but then we get to the rainforest. She saw the alligators (crocodiles?) in the water and kind of starts freaking out. Her mom had to tell her they weren’t real. All I can say is she better not read any of those Kingdom Keepers books if she was afraid they were real! It was just really strange.

I love the boat ride. It’s just relaxing and it’s always neat going through all the greenhouses. A few pictures from the ride:

We then made our way over to the Imagination pavilion to visit Figment.

Again, not too many people waiting. Do I even have to bother sharing my opinion on this ride? I know I’ve said it time and time again but the original JII was a MILLION times better than this one. I am glad that they put Figment back in it but really the best part is the end. Gotta love all the different Figments and hearing “One Little Spark!” Classic.

Before leaving the pavilion we played around a little bit with those kiosks where you take your picture and then can add all sorts of “stickers” and other stuff. I tried emailing it to myself but for some reason they never work! The same thing happened last year when I tried to email my Innoventions game. It’s strange because I’ve gotten ones that other people send but never my own. Hmm.

When we visited Epcot Wednesday afternoon, I wanted to go check out Garden Town, the headquarters for the Flower and Garden Festival. It’s in the old Wonders of Life pavilion (I think they use it for the Food and Wine Festival too) but unfortunately, it was only open Friday-Sunday so we weren’t able to. We made sure to go visit it that morning. It kind of brought back memories from when the pavilion used to be open. Anybody remember Cranium Command or those bicycles that you could take a virtual ride through Disneyland? It’s kind of sad that the building just sits there most of the year.

Inside there were basically a lot of displays and booths where you could take seminars on gardening and purchase festival merchandise. I know there was also a video about the making of the Flower and Garden Festival. I bet it’s a fun thing for the locals to do in the spring, just go over to the park and see these guest speakers and learn about gardening.

We only spent a few minutes milling around in there before heading over to World Showcase, again enjoying some of the beautiful sights of the F&GF. I love this one of all the flowers!

A look back at the butterfly garden...

Up next: the Baby Bebes!!!

YES I REMEMBER CRANIUM COMMAND. I loved Cranium Command. It was so fun and SO 80'S! And... BODY WARS! In the same pavilion. Way smoother simulator than Star Tours, if you ask me. Sheesh, Disney. Sheesh.

i love figment! i miss the old one also!! he was my favorite... i think when i was little i called him fignewton lik ethe cookie! lol

i miss disney today...

Too funny about the little girl on Living with the Land. Some kids are scared of all kinds of rides. I remember the first time I took my kids to Disneyland they were 4 and 2. We mistakenly took the 2 year old on Peter Pan for his first ride and he freaked out. Too dark in there. The rest of the trip he was scared of every single inside ride. Even It's a Small World. (Which granted can be a little scary;)) Anyway we then took him to Disney World when he was 4 years old. We'd talked up going on Peter Pan and he was so excited. Until we walked up to the ride. He saw the queue and turned around screaming in terror through Fantasyland:laughing: Luckily it was early and FL wasn't crowded. Anyway I had no idea he had any memory of the 2 year old experience, but he obviously did. We finally got him on Peter Pan when he was almost 6, but it tooked all kinds of bribery and he was terrified and shaking the whole time we were in line. Once he rode it he loved it. But my point is some kids are just scared of rides. Obviously this little girl was one of those kids. (Sorry for the long story.)
