"So what do you want to do next?" An April '10 TR...final thoughts 8/2 p. 63

Aww...the picture frame is so cute!! What a great idea!:thumbsup2 Love all your animal pics from the zoo! You got some really good close-ups! When we went back last year in August...it was really weird not to see the topiaries at Epcot! (I missed them!) Glad you rode Soarin'!! Love that ride!:lovestruc Too bad that no one clapped though.... :sad2:

Cute frame! I love your idea to tear up scrapbook pages to glue onto the frame! :thumbsup2

Did you clap anyway? I always clap at the end of Soarin'! :goodvibes

Cute frame! It looks good
I agree- I love the Soarin' uniforms (: I don't think I've ever been on Soarin' and everyone not clap at the end.

What a great father's day present - that frame is so cute!

I totally thought of you this week when they announced the real AI auditions are coming to Milwaukee!

I'm going to have to employ your strategy of pre-rope drop arrivals. You guys get so much done!

Another nice update. I wonder what the CMs must think of all of us flooding The Land at rope drop too. I'm sure they must get used to it after a while.

Ok now I want to go to the zoo! I have to admit we have a pretty awsome zoo! I didn't know about the giraffe house!!! I love giraffe's!!

Great update! :goodvibes

We do have a nice zoo. I would love to visit other cities' zoos too...I don't know why but it's just so fun seeing all the animals!

Nice job on the frame!

I too wonder who the people are in the pictures that we see at places like TT. :confused3

Thanks!

Yeah, they look kind of young so maybe they are kids of the Imagineers? (OK, I did see Kristen's response but that would have been my second guess!).

Haha, I was confused for a second because I thought about whether or not I read your latest update or not since I knew the zoo pictures!

Someone should collect all the costumes that the CMs wear for each attraction! That'd be a fun project, but something I'd probably be afraid to do because a good pic would require asking the CM to face the camera.

Haha, I'll have the same commentary about the Test Track pics! Weird and I both took pics of those pics because we were curious to know who they were!

LOL, yeah, I almost said something how I posted them on facebook but I always feel like nobody ever looks at them on there anyway (except for maybe my sisters).

There was this one poster who I know would always take pictures of the CMs.

OK, can't wait for your TT picture commentary!

My dad is the exact same way! I do the same thing with pictures. One year I gave the ride picture of us on the Tower of Terror, the next I made a collage of pictures of him holding me when I was a baby. I tried to change it up this year and got him a really nice Ralph Lauren shirt and of course all he did was tell me I shouldn't spend money on him and he doesn't need anything! Sigh... dads.

I love your zoo pictures! That bear is BEAUTIFUL, wow!

We've never done Rope Drop at Epcot but next trip, for sure! It'll be during Food and Wine so I might as well set up a tent at Epcot cause I will be spending a LOT of time there LOL!

Oh and I love that Hidden Mickey! haven't seen thar one before!

Yeah, before long my dad is going to get sick of them...this must be the 3rd or 4th year I've done that! And I know I also gave him one of our photopass pictures in a frame. I have some sort of addiction to pictures and picture frames. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the compliment on the bear picture. :)

Great job on that frame, so creative! :thumbsup2

I think the pictures on the desk are of children and grandchildren of the Imagineers who worked on TT. I'm reading the Hidden Magic book right now so I could double check that :)

Aww, thanks Kristen!

Hmm, could be! That would've been my second guess anyway. What a fun tribute!

The F&GF is just a neat time to visit. The park always looks amazing!

It was very sad nobody bothered clapping.

Did you clap anyway? I always clap at the end of Soarin'! :goodvibes

Thanks! And the pattern on the paper made it easy to do that. :thumbsup2

No, I didn't clap. I usually don't clap myself, I just like listening to the reactions of others because it's such a unique ride.

Cute frame! It looks good

We did use the single rider line that day. We also used it last August.

OK, that must've been what I was thinking then.

What a great father's day present - that frame is so cute!

I'm going to have to employ your strategy of pre-rope drop arrivals. You guys get so much done!

:rotfl: Yeah, I can't believe the AI auditions are coming here! Dad keeps saying how we should try out and just make up an excuse about having a sore throat. I think it would be interesting to go down there and see how many people show up.

YES, we highly recommend rope drop. You should try it. :thumbsup2

Another nice update. I wonder what the CMs must think of all of us flooding The Land at rope drop too. I'm sure they must get used to it after a while.

Thanks meeko. I would think they'd get used to it too. Must be overwhelming at first.

Great update! That Soarin' rope drop rush is something else! Every trip before my DH went and got fastpasses while my kids and I visited Character Connections. Since we didn't have DH this trip I had to go get the fastpasses. I couldn't believe the crowds! It is crazy! They really should find a system to give out the fastpasses outside the Land in the morning. It is a bit ridiculous to have crowds walk into the building and all the way down the stairs to get the fastpasses.

I'm caught up again! I have a billion comments, but I'll stick to the latest updates...the Backstage Safari tour sounds awesome! I would love that! I am thinkin' when Henry gets older maybe that will be a "Mommy and me" treat...:goodvibes

Those giraffe topaires are beautiful. And what is up with no one clapping at Soarin'?!?!?! :confused3 Strange...!

Hey I just read your most recent post and I have to say I love your frame. It is so cute and very creative. I also love the shot you took of the golf ball, I like how it is a little off center.

That's kind of what we do too when it's the whole family. Since I don't ride Mission:Space I'd go get fastpasses while my dad and sisters did that. It's amazing how some people freak out over FPs.

Hey Brook! We really enjoyed the Backstage Safari tour. That would be such a fun thing to do with Henry. :thumbsup2

I don't know, it was sad nobody clapped. :confused3

I think the rope drop rush to Soarin is literally a walk in the park compared to the rush to Toy Story Mania.

Especially when you can get a head start by coming in at the International Gateway.

AWESOME frame Sarah!! What a great idea! I took a trip out to San Fran with my dad many years ago, it was such a special trip and I was so happy to be able to spend time just me and my dad! We have been to the Milwaukee County Zoo with Gabe a few years ago, it's such a wonderful zoo!!! Great pics too!!!

You guys did AWESOME getting to Epcot that morning!! I wish we could get up and out that early and be that close to the rope!!!!! It would be fun to see the characters like that and the Test Track car off the "track"!!! :goodvibes

Again, I’m going to say that this post might contain possible spoilers…

So that was a fitting ending for the tour. After the ride we had to fill out a brief survey asking us what we thought of the tour. I think you know what I said. It was such an awesome experience, especially for an AK lover like me. I know some people are not big fans of DAK but I now have a new appreciation for it. If you ever get the chance to do the tour, go for it! Dad and I both loved it. And a big thanks to Kelly who was a great tour guide.

Since it had been a long day we decided to head back to Kidani for a quick break. But where did we decide to go for the evening??? Here’s a hint…”WHAT’CHU TALKIN’ ABOUT, JUDGE?!”

Awesome updates!!! My kids absolutely LOVED the safari, in fact we rode it two times in a row! They would love to hear all about it.

Thanks! Glad you guys enjoyed the zoo here too. It is great there. I always love to try to get there atleast once a year!

As you can probably tell we love the rope drops. I think everyone should do rope drop at all the parks atleast once. :thumbsup2

Thank you! The safari is one of my favorite attractions and the tour made it even better.

Love the frame you made for your Dad Sarah! It is so cute!

Yay for getting on Soarin' so fast. I agree with your Dad, the rush to Soarin' is a breeze compared to the TSM rush at rope drop.

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to share my little Idol encounter from yesterday. So the American Idol tour just started on Thursday and the show was here at Summerfest last night. Usually my sisters and I have gone to the shows but since there were only a couple people we really cared to see this year we decided to skip it. They did have free lawn seats but since I met Claire down there I was too late to get a wristband. But Claire and I did go down there for a while to see if we could meet some of the Idols. LOL! The bad part was we waited around for a whole lot of nothing. I met Claire down there and she said that Tim Urban briefly came out and said he wasn't even supposed to be doing that. Their tour security wouldn't let them come out to meet people. :confused3 It stinks because the contestants WANT to go meet the fans. I don't understand why they wouldn't let them. Maybe since it's still the beginning of the tour. But it was all worth it because after a while (a long while I should add...) I saw a guy walking down the ramp near the amphitheater. I thought it looked a little bit like Lee Dewyze, the winner of this season and my favorite. :goodvibes Sure enough, it was him! Some people are pretty crazy when it comes to the Idols so they started shrieking and running over to the fence for autographs and pictures. All I can say is he seems like such a nice guy. There were a couple times when he said he had to go but still kept signing autographs. I have to agree with what one of my sister's friends says. I don't think he realizes that people actually LIKE him. LOL. Here's a couple pictures I got. It is kind of sad it's through the fence (and makes me seem like a total stalker ) but it was awesome that he atleast came out for a while. YAY LEE!

No, that is not his phone. Some lady gave him a present and then handed him her phone to talk to her daughter or whatever. He was like "thank you so much, you guys are awesome." Aww.

Since he's from the Chicago area I think he had a few friends come because they let these random people through the gates. JEALOUS!
35727_645620045294_20305212_37094673_7205985_n.jpg

I did manage to get his autograph...

I still wish Aaron Kelly would've come out. I wanted to ask him about singing at the American Idol Experience! :rotfl:

Sorry for that bit of randomness but I had to share. You know I'm a little bit obsessed with American Idol!

Saturday April 10, 2010 cont'd (part 2)

After our ride on Test Track, we decided to spend some time enjoying some of the many gardens set up for the F&GF. Since it was right near Test Track, we checked out the Pixie Hollow garden first. YAY fairies!

30499_640018615604_20305212_36849604_6799837_n.jpg

This was probably the one garden I wanted to see the most. With the releases of the new Tinkerbell movies I'm kind of obsessed with the fairies. They are adorable! First I spotted Rosetta, the garden fairy. In the movies she's the one who helps the flowers grow for spring. hehe

30499_640018625584_20305212_36849605_6362275_n.jpg

Dad asked me if I wanted my picture with Tinkerbell so of course I had to do that.

30499_640018640554_20305212_36849606_2446317_n.jpg

There were also all these really cute little fairy houses scattered throughout the garden. Such detail!

30499_640018665504_20305212_36849609_1362702_n.jpg

Here's Terence. He is the keeper of the pixie dust, making sure none of the fairies get too much. In the first movie he makes Tink realize that being a Tinker fairy makes her special. Awwww.

30499_640018655524_20305212_36849608_4043798_n.jpg

Vidia, the fast flying fairy...she is kind of a bad fairy.
30499_640018675484_20305212_36849610_901233_n.jpg

One of the things that is a big draw to Pixie Hollow is there's also a butterfly garden. We decided to go inside, though I'm not sure why. I remember several years ago they had a special butterfly exhibit at the zoo and I was so freaked out by it. I could never understand why anybody would WANT one of the butterflies to land on them. On purpose. I'm sorry, but it's just weird. I don't want any bugs landing on me even if it is a butterfly. Now that I've gotten that out...like I said we still went inside. There were a few butterflies flying around but not too many. And it seemed like most of them were near the flowers, not on the walkway.

30499_640018680474_20305212_36849611_6994432_n.jpg

And a wider shot of the butterfly garden...

Some more of the flowers near Pixie Hollow. So pretty! If you have never gone during the F&GF, DO IT. It really is impressive and all the flowers/displays are great.

I remember there was also a lady handing out Tinkerbell stickers. It was funny because Dad asked her if his little girl could have one. She said sure but she was probably a bit surprised when she saw me and I was umm, not quite so little. I was kind of bummed because she was letting all the kids choose their sticker but she just gave me one. And I got Vidia, the mean fairy. Boo. Oh well, I still have it actually in my little Tinkerbell notebook. :teeth:

Next up we went to look at the Princess and the Frog display. When I found out they were doing a PATF garden I was super excited but then I found out there weren't going to be actual topiaries. Just cardboard cutouts. I guess they must've planned that one last minute. It was still a beautiful display but it would've been better with topiaries. Maybe next year.

up next: back to the Land!

Have a great Fourth of July Weekend!

Epcot at opening---wow, I am impressed!

Cute picture frame you made.

Thanks!

Love the frame you made for your Dad Sarah! It is so cute!

We are zoo members also and went up there last weekend to check out a new seal and sea lion exhibit. Love the elephant pic...you SHOULD be proud of that one. It's gorgeous. :goodvibes

Yay for getting on Soarin' so fast. I agree with your Dad, the rush to Soarin' is a breeze compared to the TSM rush at rope drop.

Oooh, a seal and sea lion exhibit...that sounds awesome! Thank you for the compliment on the elephant picture. :goodvibes

It was nice to get on Soarin so quickly with everyone else trying to get FPs.

I love all of your F&G pictures! I would love to get to their someday, but we always have to schedule around school. So my someday will probably have to be in 15 years. Hope they are still doing it.
