We are booked in a Cat S, 7 nt Bahamian cruise out of Galveston this December. With the new dates released, we asked our TA to price the same week, stateroom category, and cabin occupants for December 2017. Total price difference for 3 adults sailing out of Galveston for 7 nt Bahamian, is a whopping increase of $32.65. What are others finding?

I priced a 4 night Dream on Dec 4th for two people in a V. The price was $500 more than my Dec 12th V 4 night in 2016. Btw, which is $700 more than my b2b 4 night Vs on the Dream 2 years ago. $2500-$3200-$3700.

Meh, what you expected is what I think, especially since the mid-2017 cruises just came out. Disney finds variations in the itineraries and then charges big for them. Like the double dip on the Fantasy. A great idea, but over Christmas, it is a premium for sure.

Not an apple to apple comparison, but that 7 day cruise is is $8606. I have a fantasy cruise booked for next year and it is $6625 for a higher category room. Both cruises are over a holiday. Even a B2B on the dream over the christmas holiday is north of $8,000 for the same room. I had a B2B on the dream this year and the cost was $3191 total for the combined fare.

I love Disney, but I don't have that disposable income, even if that was the only time of the year I could travel. I'm glad there are those can and are willing to pay. I'm just not one of them for those "special sailings". I would rather travel more frequently than forego not travelling to pay those prices. I guess that means I'm becoming more of a bargain hunter when we choose to sail on Disney.

We were looking at a B2B on the Dream in either October or November and it's not much more expensive than the ones listed this fall. I was bracing myself for 20% increases and that doesn't look like it's the case. Hopefully that will hold true for winter 2018, because I think we're going to hold off until then.

I guess you can be happy there werent huge price increases, but I didnt think prices were good this year or last year. Everyone was upset with prices a year ago. Now their ok with them because they didnt go up as much as they thought.

I agree. The Galveston cruises did not go up much from 2016, but are still much higher than they were in previous years.

This is my thought, too.

I just booked the same week in December 2017 on the Fantasy that I have booked on the Magic in 2016. Both are 7 days, a Western Fantasy and an Eastern Magic. The difference is about $2000. The Fantasy charges more but I don't think that accounts for that much of an increase.

I was expecting the 3 night Baja to be less than the one I have booked for May, but it was higher. Those little 2 and 3 nighters out of San Diego are priced so high, but it's my home port, so overall travel cost makes it "worth" it.

I think people that havent cruised before want all the bells and whistles of the Fantasy. I always go with the best price. All the ships are fine by me. At least they're offeing something new like the mexican riviera, and new england. I dont mind spending the money if its something I havent done before.

The Breeze just arrived in Galveston for the rest of the year. Four year old ship and less than half the price. It hard not to compare. The Wonder is getting a face lift, but I still think the Breeze will give her some competition.

I thought the prices for the most part looks better than what I thought they would be.

We looked at both 7 nights Bahamas leaving from NY on the magic and 7 nights eastern from Port Canaveral on the Fantasy again. Was shocked how much the NY sailing was. $2000 more!!! We booked Fantasy again/

I was also embracing for higher. When you price it against other lines is when you go "wait
what?"

That being said we are definitely going to give the Wonder a break and go back to the fantasy. Sailing
on the Dream is what made me fall in love with cruising and Fantasy cemented he it.

I will say the Hawaii trip on the Wonder last year was the best one ever. So who knows. I go back and forth
from never cruising DCL again because of crazy prices or just the Wonder (recent experience). Yet this morning
i took a look at the 2017 itineraries again .

Whatever they put in that pixie dust is STRONG. Just not sure if its strong enough anymore.:tink:

I booked the 4 and 3 night B2B for the first week of October this morning. For 4 people in the exact same room, the 4 night is only $25 more total than the 3 night, I thought that was crazy!!! Overall though, I'm pretty happy with the total price, especially since we can drive to San Diego from AZ in 6 hours.

From what I can tell on the Fare tracker on touring plans the price of our cruise went down from 2016 about $200 for same dates, guests and category.

I wasn't sure what to expect...but after booking our 7 night Fantasy Holiday Castaway Cay Double Dip (12/23/17) I sped over to cruisefish. Opening day prices for 12/24/16 were only $28 less pp for our 5A cabin. I am not going to complain...DH said "$4/day, less than inflation."

I was actually pretty surprised since the holiday season is not cheap!

Our last three cruises have been on the Wonder. I agree Hawaii was great. If they discount Galveston again this year Id go back on the Wonder. Id like to see the changes.

My 4-night cruise, according to Touring Plans, is about $300 higher than last year. I was expecting about that based on the prices on the late September cruises released a few weeks ago. This is my first cruise so I don't have years of price comparisons and history like some of the pros on here but I'm fine with what I paid.
