Of course, I always find things to do in WDW. But I'm obsessed so it's not hard to find stuff for me.

But we're trying to get this board to be a little more non-CP college kid friendly. As hard as it is to believe, not everyone who comes to this board is going to do the CP.

So as a college kid, what are some of your favorite things to do in WDW? And what would you tell other college age people to do if they had never been to WDW?

Ride everything, no matter if you think it may be stupid or not.

Go to Epcot, experience all the countries - it's a lot cooler when you can understand the cultural stuff as well as that there are giant stone lions guarding the doors - but you don't know why.

Eat everything - try new things! It's vacation, branch out! There are so many restaurants, it's always good to try a new place or two.

Do tours - they're more focused on adults, and if you love Disney, you'll love the tours.

Hang out - relax. Don't commando if you don't have to. Explore other resorts - pick a place you want to stay once you're out of college and can afford it!

I'm sure there are more.

Well we weren't quite college-age yet but when my school went for our senior trip we did everything we'd do as kids! It was so great because at Disney we can do all the stuff and it's not seen as being too ~childish~
We wore mouse ears, rode the teacups, went to all the shows, but we also got to enjoy + appreciate things like Epcot, and the amazing details and scenery in all the parks that I wouldn't have noticed as a kid.

Also now that i'm older I can finally ride Rock n Rollercoater hahahah ;)

This may sound like a cheesey pamphlet, but the great thing about Disney World it really is enjoyable for all ages. In fact, my favorite trip to DW was during the second semester of senior year.

First off, you have more freedom. The two trips I previously took (one in middle school, one freshman year of high school), was with the parentals and they were hardly going to let me go off on my own. And I love my family, but having two parents and one younger sibling around can definitely slow you down. And neither of my parents nor my brother are rollercoaster fans, so I didn't get to experience as many of the rides (except Space Mountain which my mom and I went on by accident :D ).

Going as an adult or near adult with your friends is definitely a different experience. Even engaging in some of the more "kiddie" activities like Peter Pan's Flight is more fun, just because you can goof off with your friends.

Also I kind of agree that Epcot is more of an older person park. My brother pretty bored there, but my parents and I loved it.

Basically your trip is what you make of it. Especially for the 90s kids, WDW will always be something special since you're around these characters (Ariel, Belle, etc.) who you grew up with. And of course everybody loves Mickey Mouse!

I love this! This is so true. for many of us, we grew up with the characters and know and love them dearly.

I think it's fun to take photos of you and the characters. get autographs. I have more fun with the characters now then I did when I was younger because we can play around with them even more.

i got accepted to the college program but then i ended up not being able to do it because if would put me too far behind in my studies. i love disney. ive been every year since i was 6 and im 21 now. I am a kid at heart, so this is the place i can really let my true self out and enjoy myself. there is things we do now that i didnt do when i was little which is nice. i personally think when your older you can see disney from both angles, the adult view and the child view. and the nice thing is you can view both at the same time and no one would think you were weird. i take allll my hats and disney clothes and wear them the 10 days im there and i dont feel out of place. i actually feel so in the right place. i always take pictures with the princesses and characters. last time i waited in line an hour to see Ariel since she is my favorite, and it was honestly the best part of my trip. i cried walking out of there. there is just nothing like disney. there is nothing like the feeling you get when you walk down main street the first time on your trip and see the castle. the rides that are for the "younger kids" college kids can still enjoy. its all about your attitude. if you have the "this is stupid" attitude then it will be. i would recommend disney for any age. i know its just not for some people (which i dont get) but for most people who have an open mind and a kid still in their heart, there is always something to do.downtown disney is nice at night for the college crowd. test track, mission space, the differnt cultures of the countries, expedition Everest, finding nemo the musical, the three mountains, the tallest waterslide in the world at blizzard beach. the list is almost endless. i wouldnt limit the list, i would say try everything there is to try. you never know what will end up being your favorite ride. the carousel of progress is amazing and you wouldnt think it would be! so i would say to fellow college students, keep your eyes and heart open, and you are sure to have a magical time!:cool2:

Thanks for all your responses, guys! Hopefully with this thread we can start some more vacation planning threads for college students.

I'm the same as all of you- I continue to do things that I did as a kid. I still stand in line to meet the princesses. I still ride all my favorite rides- no matter what they are!

I'm 23 and a castmember and I never get bored doing anything at WDW. My absolute favorite thing to do was to spend nights in the Adventurer's Club on Pleasure Island before the fools in the front office closed down PI. Luckily I was one of the fortunate few who got to experience the Club on its last night. Aside from that, EPCOT is my favorite park to attend now that I'm older (drinking around the world, yes!) and able to appreciate the cultures of World Showcase and intricate details of everything. If you ever get a chance, visit EPCOT during the food and wine festival in October, it's an absolute blast if you're a food and drink fanatic as I am.

I love going to Disney at this age! I'm a sophomore in college, and absolutly love and appreciate Disney. Although I do find it hard convincing friends of how amazing it it because they think its just a kiddy park.

However, I did get my boyfriend and best friend ADDICTED to going ;)

Some of the things we enjoy doing is hotel hopping, going to Downtown Disney, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, I haven't done the water parks yet, but I could see college kids loving it. Of course I LOVE Magic Kingdom, but it obviously is not as geared toward adults.

One of my favorite things to do is eating there! O'hana, Boma, Tusker House, Biergarten, Sci-Fi,...all have been crowd pleasers!

Go on allll the rides!

Explore all the hotels, swim in all the pools!

HAVE FUN...disney's an awesome place for any age!

Thank you for doing this. :worship: lol.

My friends and I are going for Spring Break. We plan to do everything!! We are all so excited and I know we'll act like a kid again. lol

Disney is the place to check your ego at the door! just be a kid and have fun! Do everything - there is no age limit for these rides so why deprive yourself of a good time?

I'm going to WDW towards the end of March for my spring break; I'm so excited!!!:cool1:
I always thought it would be amazing to do the CP, but I don't know that I have the time. I wonder if DCL has some sort of CP; I would do that for sure!! :thumbsup2

They have... something like it. It's a minimum 6-month contract, and you have to be 21 at least.

Here's the basic qualifications page:

Resort Hop! Go to all the resorts and just hang out and see what they have to offer! Also there are a bunch of hidden mickey's in the resorts too!
Resturants! Try as many resturants as your wallet will let you! Some require reservations but those are usually the good ones!
Hang out! Go to the pools, the beach, shopping and/or chill around the area. You don't always have to go to the parks!
:earsboy:

Haha, everything you'd do as a kid at Disney World!

Well, my boyfriend and I are Juniors in college, and are planning a trip in May. We'll probably skip the real kiddy rides, but we're basically going to do everything else we possibly can inside the parks. It is nice to have a deeper appreciation of some of the things in the parks. For example, the Living with the Land ride in Epcot. I didn't even know about it when I was younger, but doing it in high school and college made me really appreciate different facets of Biotechnology and agriculture, and just Disney's efforts to make a difference in the world other than just making kids happy.

We also wanted to look into the wagon rides at Fort Wilderness, which is another thing I had no idea existed (in addition to the carriage rides, which sound fun, but are more expensive, so... that's why we're doing the wagon ride! >_<).

I have also made a few dinner reservations. I'm just trying to make the trip a little bit more classy as a young adult, but we're definitely still going to be maintaining the fun of being a kid in Disney World!

One fun thing I did to prepare for the trip was buy an instant camera. It's not a polaroid, since they don't make polaroid film anymore, but it's a Fuji Instax camera. It's about the same size film as a polaroid, but a little bit wider. Anyway, when they have the character encounters, we're going to take pictures of each other and then the character will actually be able to sign the film right after it comes out, and it makes for an instant scrapbook photo. I love the idea, just the camera is HUGE and it's going to be a pain to lug around.

Anyway, I also love the idea of being with friends/significant others as opposed to just with my family. This will be the first time either my boyfriend or I have gone without our families. I think the whole atmosphere will be different and unique. I can't wait!

One of my favorite things to do while I'm in the World is catch the World Showcase Players in Epcot. They have two shows, I think, "King Arthur and the Holy Grail" and "Romeo and (Esther? Something like that. anyway, it's not Juliet)."

Both shows are really entertaining, I could watch them all day.

I'll be there for the Flower & Garden Festival which I'm really excited for since it's my first time for that. :cool1: I want to spend at least one day in Epcot just for the F&GF.
