Our upcoming trip to DL will be the first one we've taken with a baby- 9 months old to be exact. Our other 2 kids were 2½ & 4 when we went for the first time in 97.

What can we ride with our 9 month old baby boy?pooh:

Just about any of the dark rides (Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Pooh, Pirates, Mr. Toad, etc) and loads of others. We took our daugher on tons of rides when she was 2 months old. My company rewarded my wife and I with a trip and we opted to take our newbie with us. We had a great time!

Basically you can ride anything without a height requirement, and that's A LOT OF RIDES that your 9-month old little guy can ride and enjoy with you.:thumbsup2

We took our youngest little guy to DL when he was 6 months and again when he was 12 months, and he just LOVED everything and had a great time.

However, I did cover his ears and gently buried his head into my shoulder (giving him kisses and whatnot to distract him) in the stretching room of the Haunted Mansion because it is a little loud and SCARY sounding (especially if there is annoying people in the room who scream at the top of their lungs just to be silly). But the actual ride part of the Hanted Mansion isn't scary at all, and he LOVED it.

The younger ones at that age are great to take because they're just so curious about everything. They love all the lights, colors, sounds, motion, and people.:thumbsup2

A lot. Here are my suggestions (but being able to ride and a good ride for them are two different things):

DL:
Dumbo
Peter Pan
Casey Jr. Circus Train
Alice in Wonderland
Nemo (though it has its scary moment)
It's A Small World (but it's closed from late Jan to november this year)
Buzz Lightyear
Winnie-the-Pooh
Jungle Cruise (one loud noise(gunshot), but nothing really scary)
Tiki Room
Pirate's Lair
Roger Rabbit (though it has its loud moments and moments of "peril" as you escape the weasels)

At DCA:
Turtle Talk
Monster's Inc.
King Triton's Carousel
All of the Bugs Land rides (except It's Tough to be a Bug, it's quite scary)
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail

There are other rides that they can go on, but are a little intense for a little one such as:
Haunted Mansion- not as scary as it sounds, but still it's dark and creepy and ghosts everywhere
Pirates- a couple drops (one in pitch black), dark, skeletons, and loud noises
Mr. Toad- you get sent to hell after being run over by a train
Snow White- Scariest Fantasyland dark ride. Witch pops out frequently and it's dark and scary with skeletons and creepy trees too.
Pinocchio- very dark (light and storywise). The kids are being turned into donkeys and Monstro the Whale tries to eat you

I don't know if you are planning on any type of carrier, but I HIGHLY recommend getting SOMETHING to carry your LO in.
www.thebabywearer.com is an amazing resource for ideas.

When we brought my son when he was about 16 months we had the stroller, but I put him in a sling for the lines and a lot of the rides.

I do not recommend the baby bjorn. Wearing that all day will kill your shoulders.

Great point! I forgot my wife carried our little one in a Baby Bjorn (deluxe model - which she loved using) and it made life a lot easier. We didn't even take or rent a stroller for the 4 days we spent at Disney World.

I third getting a sling or baby carrier for the lines... such a life saver!!

I'm not sure how a sling or carrier will do- our baby is quite chubby- 23 lbs at 8 months.

I would still try to get some kind of sling (or something) just for a little extra support while holding him in line.

You can't take strollers in the lines (except for Nemo), so you'll have to hold him, and after about 5-10 minutes of holding a 23 pound babe, your arms may feel like they're about to fall off.

SOO true! However, between DH and my 2 teenage boys, I think we can play pass the baby to relieve ourselves! I'd be worried about getting too hot with the baby strapped to me. Also, wouldn't he want out of the carrier/sling often?

You can take stroller into the subs or do they stow them for you?

Any soft structured waist carrier would work well for your baby.

Beco, Ergo, Patapum are all good ones :) I prefer the Beco because they are cuter :lmao:

Ahhhh, well then between all those strong arms, you should be just fine in line with the baby.:thumbsup2

You can't take the stroller into the subs (it would be impossible, I think, to even get a stroller in one of those subs), but once you get close to the front of the line, a cast member will park your stroller for you.
