So what bothers you at WDW that may not bother anyone else???

These posts are HILARIOUS!!!:jumping1:

OK, I got one for the buses, too! So I'm a guy and I only have two sons. We're Southern, so if we're sitting on the bus and a lady is standing, we would offer our seats. That's the polite thing to so. So the pet peeve that I have is when I see men sitting while ladies stand. I would try to make up excuses in my mind like 'Perhaps the guy is injured' or 'He may feel like he would pass out if he stands' or something. But I have been on buses where old ladies would stand while grown men sits. I mean, Yikes! But maybe people weren't taught that or womens' lib requires them to stand. I don't know...

This bothers me, too. And if you look at the men (or frankly, even the young, healthy females - this isn't just a gender issue) who won't offer their seats to the elderly (or to parents who are trying to balance small children on their hips), they blatantly refuse to make eye contact. They stare at the floor, aware of what the right thing to do is, but refuse to do it.

I just thought of something else that makes me go nuts. When you are waiting for a theater attraction and the CM states that you need to go to the end of the row to accommodate everyone, yet some people will still stop in the middle of the row and just sit down. We all want those seats, but for the sake of being polite, you could move down so everyone doesn't have to crawl over you. :rolleyes2

Ok here is mine. When my son or I offer our seat to a woman and they become offended. last Summer my son offered his seat to a woman, and she said "why, do I look to old to stand to you?", my son looked at me, so I replied, "No, but you do look like a lady, and my son has been taught to always offer his seat to children and women, he did not mean to offend you."

What's up with everyone saying they look down on people who don't grab a seat at a QS before ordering? I thought Disney didn't allow this?

Just returned from a trip in April - stayed at POR in the Mansion section. I am aware of the debate on if a quiet pool really means it should be just that but sometimes I can't take the ear splitting screams from children, adults yelling Marco!!! - I know we all paid the same to stay at the resort - I get that - but the noise level can get to be a bit much - but i don't know if I am the only one being bothered? :confused3
Also agree with the men not giving up a seat on the bus for an elderly, pregnant or woman holding a child in their arms. Infuriates me! Saw this many times - but have to give :thumbsup2 to the good eggs that do the right thing.
Also do not enjoy the group that stands behind me at the last minute during Wishes and talks all through Jiminy - and the Whooooooo Hoooooooo!!!!! right in my ear during the fireworks.

I also get very annoyed when people take up a really long time with the face characters. Large groups who have to take character photos in every possible combination ("Let's get one with little Tommy. Now one with Tommy and Anna. Now one with Tommy and Grandpa. Now Grandma and Grandpa. Now Grandma, Grandpa, and Tommy . . . ") and adults who like to tell their life stories to the characters. I get that we all wait in line and the characters interact well with the guests, but long conversations lead to really long lines. I once saw an adult female who appeared to be alone having some sort of emotional meltdown with Tinkerbell. Tink was trying to comfort her as the children in the long line waited and waited (some patiently, some not so much).

What doesn't bother me that I've seen bother other people is when you get out of the videos for queues like Dinosaur, Tower of Terror, or Haunted mansion and everyone scrambles to be first out and they get mad when people "cut" them in line. I'm the one hanging back letting everyone go in front of me cause I hate rushing like that.

Funny enough, that is not cutting. But you are right, people seem to think that. It is about filling in space.

People that walk on the 'wrong' side of the path annoy me, but this annoys me everywhere. You walk on the right hand side! Also, people who have their noses buried in their cell phone, especially while trying to walk at the same time. If you'd look up once in awhile, perhaps you wouldn't have run straight into me.

I am not the least bit bothered by "line cutting". I personally don't do it, but I do not care if people catch up with their family as long as they are not rude about it.

The thing that really gets me is the families/groups that have to walk 3, 4 and 5-wide where there is no room for that. They tend to think everybody needs to move for them so they can all stay side-by-side. Anywhere else it does not bother me so much.

Clogging up the area around the FP entrance, when you KNOW it's not your time yet, delaying the entry for those of us who DO have current FP! This usually happens with a large group, of course.

I have to be completely honest and say that yes, waiting for scooters to be loaded on buses, with their entire family party, IS annoying. But that doesn't mean it should change in any way. It's just a necessity to make WDW accessible to everyone who wants to visit.

It irritates me when people expect my children to automatically give up their bus seats because they happen to be males.

I'm raising them to believe that they have a right to sit down if they are tired. If others would like to sit down, they can wait too. Nobody makes them get on if the bus is standing room only.

Lots of valid complaints listed so far. A few of mine are:
1. People walking 3 abreast in busy areas, single file works better for everyone.
2. Cell/Smart phones, too many people walk while reading or texting on their phones, and it is up to everyone else to dodge them.
3. Last minute people showing up for parades or fireworks, get there early folks.
4. When possible, walk to the right, seems simple to most but not everyone.
None of these things are show stoppers but could make it better for everyone....jmho

Do they actually sit though? I've seen ladies on my public transport bus offer seats to guys who look wiped out and they always always decline. It seems like a lot of guys don't usually accept these gestures but I could be very wrong. I'm not a guy after all.

As for me I don't expect men to give me their seat. I don't stare at sitting guys and think "what a jerk, I should be sitting instead." I stare at anyone sitting on the bus and think that. :D

While most are very hesitant at first, at the end of the day and some harsh insistence on my part, they'll take the seat. Either way they seem genuinely appreciative.

Good manners have never been about what you have a right to do. The very essence of good manners is voluntarily foregoing what you have a right to do so that others feel more comfortable.

Great question!

File under pet peeves I know are totally crazy: it drives me nuts when people get the names wrong. They call Magic Kingdom "Disney," or they say/write they are going to "O'Hana," like it's an Irish place, or "'Ohana's," like it's a possessive. THE WORST: "O'HANA'S"!!. I know that these things do not matter at all, and yet I cringe a little when I hear them and others like them. Maybe it's an English teacher thing.

PHEW...fun to get that out of my system! Thanks, OP!

YES! And I agree with another poster about "Boma's" too. Don't forget "dinning" instead of dining. And the awful "ressies".

I'll take it a step further and complain about everything being called "Disney". To me, that is a family name, a person. I usually type "WDW" on the boards if I am referring to the whole resort. It is shorter anyway.

I hear people say "We did Disney last year." and it makes me want to cringe.

I have a really hard time climbing over them and unfortunately land on their feet all the time.

Would you like my list alphabetically or most irritating first????:rolleyes1

1) People shoving and pushing--sometimes hanging onto one another from HM, TOT and RNRC queues...I'm with one of you above; I'll hang back the extra 30 seconds so I don't have to have your sweaty body rub on me! :crazy2:

2) Groups from above getting separated in line and waving up the laggers through the rest of us. Step back and let the others go in front of you until they catch up. Again, you're only talking a few minutes (or in some cases less).

3) I can't believe it hasn't been said yet, but FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY on the dark rides!!!

4) People who don't clean up after themselves! Think Fantasmic.
