I heard about this site through this board and I bought my brother a CD on there for Christmas on DECEMBER FIFTH!!! I was told it would be here within 10 business days, well I STILL DON'T HAVE IT:mad: I called them up and they said there is no way to track it, they sent it USPS. I said I wanted a refund and they said they can't process the refund until the end of the month, does that make any sense to you? I had to go to the store and pay more for it here locally because I wanted him to have the present but it stinks because who knows if I will ever see the refund.
Anyone else have problems? There customer service was awful and I had to be on hold for over 20 minutes before getting a live person on the line.
Sorry for the rant but AUGH!!!

I was just at their site to see their shipping policies.

I'm guessing you took advantage of the "free shipping" option? Their site pretty clearly states that there's no tracking for that method, and that it can take up to 15 business days (which means 21 days total from date of order)

So...even ordering it on December 5th would never have meant you'd definitely have it by Christmas.
 
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Mine was quite the opposite. I ordered the Oceans trilogy (for an awesome price too) and it arrived within 10 days.
 
I had excellent results with Deep Discount. There was one item that was not immediately available but arrived 10 days ago.

I hope it arrives tomorrow.
 

I'm sorry to hear about your problems with Deep Discount -I've shopped with them for years and have never had any problems receiving orders even when I used the free shipping. I ordered a couple things from them this year and everything arrived in a timely manner but I shopped early in Nov. I have heard a couple of complaints about them this year from others though so it makes me wonder if they are going through some growing pains from becoming more popular. I hope that they can resolve this for you and I hope that they don't continue to have problems with customer orders in the future - I have always enjoyed shopping through them. It would be a shame to see their customer service go down hill from getting too big.
 
I have also had the opposite service with deep discount so far. Nothing but excellent service all the way around. I think alot of phones are busy right now and shipping is taking longer USPS, especially not priority.
 
I used them before. I did the free shipping and it took about 20 days for my item to arrive. I wasn't in a hurry for it, so I didn't mind.

They lost me this year. I ordered 2 in stock items on the 7th. Well on Friday I get one of them. Not the other. So I check online to see what's up and see that it is now backordered. Never got an email telling me that. So when I call up and waited 30 minutes to get a person(thank god for speakerphone) They said oh it is on it's way now- when I tried to cancel. So no way to cancel. No way to see where it is and there is no way I am getting it by Christmas.
When I said what should I do - the reply was well you can ship it back to us when you get it.

That was it. So I am no longer buying from them either.
 
Same thing happened to me. I've ordered in the past and have never had a problem. The weekend of Black Friday (their big sale) I ordered my sister the Friends boxed set and still nothing. When I ordered it there was nothing to say it was backordered, but about a week later when I went to check my order it said that it was backordered. So I emailed customer service and they assured me it would be back in stock and sent no later than Dec.17 - well here I am on the 23rd with no Christmas gift. I have never seen it anywhere near the price I paid ($127) so I guess I'll just wrap up a picture since I'm maxed out on our limit - oh well if she was a child it would be different, it's just annoying when you order something over a month ago - I wish they would have said it was backordered when I ordered it.
 
I ordered a few things from DeepDiscount this Christmas....their shipping leaves much to be desired...but I've gotten it all in the time period given.

I started to worry when I placed 2 separate orders a week apart and got the second one 1 week before I got the first one...lol...I stressed out.

I had good luck with them too.

But, go ahead and give your brother the one you bought. Then when the DeepDiscountDVD one comes in, return that to the store with the higher price for a refund.

Sorry to hear you are having troubles with them. I quit ordering from them because I consistently received everything late.

As for the one you just purchased, keep your receipt and return the one to from DeepDiscount to the local retailer with that receipt.

Most of the stuff I ordered from them I ordered EARLY and received in plenty of time.

One item,though, didn't arrive. When I checked, I found it was backordered-- no email ever arrived. (They REALLY need to change that policy and notify their customers when something goes on backorder!!!)

So I cancelled the order and bought it locally. No harm, no foul.

I'll gladly use them again, but I'll do it all early and check for backorders.
 
I'm having the same problem with a dvd I ordered from moviemars.com via half.com I ordered on Dec 8th so we could have it by Christmas Eve thinking 16 days was plenty of time. Even though half.com's policy is that the seller has to ship within 3 business days my dvd wasn't shipped until the 21st ( I got a confirmation email stating this). Half.com won't do anything because it was actually shipped. I can only file a claim if it doesn't arrive by the 31st. I hate that they can blatently break the rules and there are no consequences. Good luck with getting you dvd.

I have generally had good luck; I did order a hard to find German DVD and it was delayed, no notification because they had to backorder it.

But everything did arrive for Christmas
 
I have ordered from them before and had very good experiences. But this year I pre-ordered a dvd movie set on November 5th. It was to be dh's main gift. The set was due to be released in late November, and I thought that pre-ordering would guarantee I would get one before they sold out; I also thought that 5 weeks from release date to Christmas should have been plenty of time for shipping, even with the free shipping option. Wrong on both counts.

About mid-December I realized it wasn't here yet and emailed them. They emailed me back a few days later and said they were sold out and wouldn't ship until after Christmas. I was extremely annoyed that they hadn't sent me notification that they didn't have enough stock on the release date or shortly thereafter, and even more annoyed that they waited until I contacted them to let me know there was a problem. If something is out of stock or shipping later than expected it's only common courtesy and good business to let the customer know. By the time I found out it was too late to do anything but go out and find dh a different main present. :sad2: I received an email yesterday that the set has now shipped. So I guess I'll have it in time for next Christmas. :rolleyes:

I hope they get their act together. I'll give them another chance because of great service in the past, but I'm sure not a happy camper with them right now.
 
Just to update you guys, STILL no CD from them, I'm beyond frustrated. This was ordered on Dec. 5th, it says it was in stock and SHIPPED on Dec. 11th, yet still nothing. So frustrating!

Sorry that you had bad luck. I placed five orders in the past three weeks and all have arrived.
 
I have had excellent service from them in the past. I sweated for HSM2 as it was released on Dec 5 and I got it 12/22. There is no way to track it on the site, which is frustrating. they did send an email when I contacted customer service since it was a few days past their expected delivery date.

I will continue to use them. Prices and shipping rates are very good!!
