I am and I don't have a problem with Uncle Remus.
OMG! He's sick. This isn't about him being a bad husband, he needs help.
Neither do I and Uncle R is a good character to have around here.
FYI, I have known Uncle R for a few years on this board and on other discussion boards. She, yes it's a she, is damn good person and I have had some fun going back and forth with her on all kinds of topics. She's as smart as they come and if you get to know her, you might be pleasantly surprised too.
Some posters don't like the way Uncle Remus posts, so they decided to jump on him about it and say it was offensive.
It has nothing to do with what the thread is about.Easy enough to ignore.

Ok. .thanks! I don't know UR. . but there is nothing I hate more than people that can't support their own arguments and try to flip the script, if you will, to change the subject.
If you have something to say about the subject at hand, then say it! Otherwise. . .. eh! Props to UR and others that feel free to speak their mind. I'm soooo over this PC BS.![]()
But who cares, she's still in pain. Regardless of what she knew or didn't know.
I think this southern black dialect is offensive because it evokes a lot of painful history/reminders of what life was life for people in the deep south.
Maybe Maria stopped having sex with him. Like it or not, guys need to get laid. Sometimes more than they need to eat. When they're in a relationship where they don't get it, it will cause problems. I actually think there's something to the days of concubines. The husband's happy because he gets it once in a while, the wife is happy because she doesn't have to deal with it any more.
The latest from TMZ:
Mildred Patricia "Patty" Baena and her husband (Rogelio Baena) divorced in 2008. Husband was listed as father on the birth certificate, but in divorce papers it says the couple have no children together. So husband paid no child support. Obviously HE knew that it wasn't his child, and I would venture a guess that he knew who the father is.
Did Rogelio take a payoff to keep quiet?
I hating that I've resorted to reading TMZ.![]()
But it isn't all racial, I have some family and they don't talk much differently. I don't know about this poster, although I do find myself agreeing with her But I can guarantee, that it isn't automatically racial. Some people in the south really do talk like this, and sorry if you find it offensive, but that is how they talk.
The son was born in 1997-maybe her dh had enough and found out the baby wasn't his.

Then can I add that the absence of a picture of Uncle Remus at Splash Mountain pisses me off?
And people like Arnold piss me off too.
I have always lived in the north, so to me it is offensive and relates to how the slaves were treated. I don't like the way the poster is *pretending* to be a black man from the deep south. It is derogatory. Even the name "Uncle" refers to an elderly black slave.
Again, I certainly am not going to speak for others, but it is just the way I feel personally.
I am not usually a PC type person, but this really pushes me....
