You must really spend hours on the phone? We visited last week and wound up staying offsite because the CM's claimed there were no discounts. I didn't really hound anyone, but should I have? To be honest we are planning another trip and while I would love to stay onsite to get the "full" experience, I can't justify paying a ton for a room we are hardly in. Especially when I can get so much more for less offsite:confused3
But I will hound the heck out of the CM's if I need to:laughing:

I haven't ever had to do that...and I go all the time! Sign up on the website, create an acct on the disney website, update it...we usually get PIN's via email, not postcards anymore. I also signed up for the Disney Visa, and we have AP's...I have exhausted every avenue to make sure I get maximum choices for discount codes...LOL GL for your next trip!

Right now Im booked with a general public room only discount. There is a banner on top of some of the boards to get to the disney special offer page. I think I got 25% off value resort. My room is $63/nite Sun - thur and $ 71 Fri/Sat night. I think that is pretty cheap. I never stayed in a value but it is just my 7 yr old and me traveling. Of course Im waiting for a free dining public code but that is another story!!!:rotfl2:

I wouldn't say you have to spend hours on the phone, but you may need to do some extra research/spend time planning. There are often general public discounts (as PP noted, you can see the link from the DIsboards), as well as FL resident rates, AAA discounts, Disney Visa discounts, AP discounts, etc.

If you spend a little time researching on your own before you call Disney, you will know what you are going to get and not rely on a CM to find you a discount.

You can also check the WDW website as the general public discounts are typically there as well, often with the code you need to book on the phone or online.

If a new deal comes out that will save you money, you can also call and change your reservation to the new discount...but you must be willing to keep an eye out for those, do the math and then make another call.

To me, all this planning/analyzing is part of the fun of a Disney trip!
