So this is what mid-life crisis feels like? Dec 2011 PTR

Good luck to all of your men with their football stuff! I hope that they all can do it!

I have a lot of catching up to do with my PTR and everyone else's!! Never fear... while the world series game is on tonight, I'll be catching up with you all! :goodvibes

Boys have football games here in a bit, I just finshed up a round of homework so I will only have 1 assignment to do tomorrow, so tonight is going to be devoted to the DIS! :cool1:

Nate's team is still undefeated and they play the other remaining undefeated team today before play-offs next week. This game will determine who goes in the #1 seed and who goes in the #2. Nolan starts his play-offs today... so if they win... they play again next weekend. Should they fall... then his season is over. I can't believe we are to the end. Eddie's team will have to win again this next week to make play-offs. (here's a funny... I can hear him knocking on the wall of the bathroom because no doubt he needs something... and I'm just typing away...:rolleyes1 I don't think he's going anywhere. :lmao:)

I'll be back tonight!!! Have a great Saturday, friends!! :grouphug:

Good luck to Nate and his team!

And:rotfl2: at leaving your dh waiting.

Okay... so today was just a strange, strange day... but just how it goes in the world of sports. Nolan's team got beat, so they are done for the season. They still had a wonderful season but I know he would have liked to advance. It's hard as a mom to see him so disappointed. He scored their lone touchdown but as a whole the team (including him) just didn't play their best on a day they really needed to.

Nate's team also got beat by two points. :sad2: But, doesn't affect their play-off situation so Nate and his team are still playing. His team played well and can definitely beat this team they played today in the championship should they meet up with them again.

And on that note... I'm tired and headed to bed. We just got home a little bit ago - we were delayed in Nolan's game by a storm (which I think contributed to their performance). They were tied up when the storm arrived and just couldn't get their momentum back when they got back on the field after having to wait for 2 hours!! :upsidedow

Good night!

Sorry the boys lost their games. That is the hardest part as a mother -- not being able to comofrt them when they lose.

I heard there were storms before the Oklahoma game (what happened to them last night?). I hope the weather has calmed down.

Sorry to hear about both the boys games :sad2: At least Nate will still be moving on.:thumbsup2

Thanks Ann! I'm really trying to look at the bright side... only one boy and one set of practices to juggle this week. I know Nolan is still upset, he's not said much today, but when I found the little guy crying softly on his bed last night...it broke my heart... he knew they didn't play as well as they normally do and the other team was playing very well. It's a lesson in life learned, I suppose... and sometimes the hard ones are as valuable as the good ones. I thought for a moment about telling him about our trip... :rotfl: anything to cheer him up. He's more cheerful today, though.

The weather did calm down. We needed the rain just not the hail and lightening... which on a night at home, I like to watch the lightening. But even after the storm had moved past the football field and they let us back outside, my hair was literally standing on end from the static electricity in the air... I was quality entertainment for many of the other fans... yet no one wanted to stand too close to me... :lmao:

I don't know what happened to the Sooners!! Maybe the same thing that happened to Nolan's team... bad night for them and the other team was very well prepared!!! :confused3 But a shocker nonetheless to many of the die hard fans in this state!

Okay so I need a happy place! So here is my Day 2 (first full day itinerary) of our trip! This also marks the (less than) 8 week countdown. This makes me very giddy! :yay:

Day 2 - Epcot

I will wake up the kids about 7 a.m. and we will go pick up breakfast out of the concierge lounge. I will definitely have to stop at the Kona Bar on our way out to pick up some fresh, hot, good tasting coffee!! Considering taking some VIA packs along to mix with hot water to save time and probably money, too. :thumbsup2

We will just walk over to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot. It is my desire to make it by rope drop. It won't be a crazy, packed day, and the crowd levels aren't supposed to be to high, but I'd like to leave Epcot after dinner to go hang out at the resort for the evening.

I need to finalize my ridemax plans but hope to ride Soarin', Test Track, Living with the Land, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Spaceship Earth, and Mission Space if the kids want to before lunch.

We will most likely eat lunch at Sunshine Seasons but if we get the above rides in before lunch, we may find a fun quick service in world showcase... anyone care to offer up suggestions? World Showcase is our 'least explored' area of Disney World. :confused3 I don't know why... just how it has worked out.

Then I would like to explore the shops in World Showcase, possibly do the Kim Possible mission, and ride Maelstrom and the Gran Fiesta Tour... of which we've never done either! :sad2:

We will finish up with dinner at Akershus at 5p. After dinner, if the kids want to go back and do something else, we definitely will. If not, we will head back to the Polynesian for the night and see what activities are going on and plan on catching the water pageant and Wishes from the Poly beach. :cloud9:

I'm sure we will be snacking from the lounge which makes me very happy... I love Mickey bars and hope to use many snack credits on those and at Goofy's candy company! :goodvibes

I'm really sorry about Nolan's team.... it is hard when they know they didn't do their best, but like you said it's a hard lesson and they will know more for next time! But congrats to Nate's team!
I like your Epcot day! Lots of wiggle room- I think that I have to get more wiggle to my plans too! Someone (I think Ann) told me that Sunshine seasons is good! Is the coffee really that bad at Disney?

WS has so many dinning options...where to start! I would say there are very few places where you could go wrong.

Your day looks great. Just too bad our plans don't mesh up yet. :goodvibes

We enjoy the fish and chips in United Kingdom, the quick service in China and the brats & beer in Germany. We also think the one in the United States is not as bad as everyone thinks it (I really like the chicken tenders). We've not eaten at Sunshine Seasons for lunch in a long time so I wouldn't even know what to recommend.

Ann (Dec 9-10/POP & Dec 11-22/WL)
Amy (Dec 16-24/POLY)
Laurie W. (Dec 16-23/All Stars)
Ashley (Dec 17-21/POP)
Susan (Dec 16-17 HRH/USO & Dec 17-22/POLY
Heather (Dec 18-23/All Stars)

I think all of us overlap the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st. So now the question becomes when and where!?!?! I think All Stars and Poly are the only ones that multiple ppl will be at during the same time period. I'm thinking pool side with some Lapu Lapus (or however they are spelled)? I've never been to Poly before. OR Pool side AllStars is fine with me too! I think It might be too hard to coordinate that many ppl to all be in a park at the same time!

I am trying to figure out how I could slip away for the day and fly down and meet all of you and then get home without anyone knowing I was gone! :rotfl2: Y'all (like the Texas accent) have to take a picture and text it to me...so I can even be more jealous!

(here's a funny... I can hear him knocking on the wall of the bathroom because no doubt he needs something... and I'm just typing away...:rolleyes1 I don't think he's going anywhere. :lmao:)

Too funny...the bathroom seems to be my only quiet and private place...I so need to get a laptop so I can hide out in there! :lmao:

I am looking forward to a couple of Kim Possible Missions...hopefully that will give me time to look and tour without being rushed by the kids. Honestly, not missing much with Gran Fiesta or Malestrom...in my book pretty hokey!

We will finish up with dinner at Akershus at 5p. After dinner, if the kids want to go back and do something else, we definitely will. I want to catch the water pagent and wishes from the beach at POLY on our last night...eating at Ohana to close the trip!

I'm sure we will be snacking from the lounge which makes me very happy... I love Mickey bars and hope to use many snack credits on those and at Goofy's candy company! :goodvibes

So ready to use my credits on some Mickey bars...and don't even get me started with the caramel apples at Goofy's

Hello long lost DIS friends!! :wave2:

I've missed you all this week and I have a lot of catching up to do on your updates!! :grouphug: But I'm diving right in here directly!

First of all... I want to do a little bit of this :dance3: because today marks my "7 weeks", "31 more work days", "49 days" to go until we leave for our trip! :woohoo:

I also want to do a little bit of this  because trip is paid for and now I'm just waiting on my Mickey mail! :yay:

Enough dancing... need to post my next day plans for our trip! Coming right up! :goodvibes

12/18 (Day 3)

This will be an early morning for us! We have an ADR at Crystal Palace for breakfast at 8:05a. I'm so excited to get inside the park and take advantage of some pre-park opening pictures! So I'm hoping to have the kids there by 7:40a. :thumbsup2

After breakfast, we will spend the day at Magic Kingdom. Low crowd predictions and I want to get our fill of the rides and attractions that we love so much here. It's probably easier to list the rides we have tried but don't really care for than the ones we won't... so that being said... we won't be experiencing Astro Orbiter, probably not Stitch's Great Escape unless the kids beg, and we will probably forgo the Country Bear's Jamboree.

I plan for us to grab a light lunch, maybe Columbia Harbour House, because we have a early dinner ADR at 4:40p at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. We've done this ADR before and we love it. I thought it would give us a nice break from Magic Kingdom before we return for....

Mickey's Very Magic Christmas Party! I feel like because we will have been on most of our favorite rides, we can repeat the favorites but really enjoy the party atmosphere... the dance parties, parade, fireworks, character meets... I want it to be no stress and have a lot of fun! :rotfl:

We will meet up with some of our friends from home at this party. I think I mentioned them earlier in the report. They decided to go to the party and it would be fun to spend an evening with them. :goodvibes

I hope to make it until midnight... I will have to guage my kid's moods on departure time but I do know we are definitely not leaving until after the parade and fireworks though. ;)

I am working on plans for 12/18 too. Sadly though, we will be over at DHS. I was excited for a moment when you said you were dinning at CP in the morning because on 12/19 that is what we are doing. Missed you by a day. Oh well... we might catch each other somewhere...

I like your low key plans. I too plan to skip stitch.. but not country bears. No country bears? Where else can you see a bit of slightly off base- almost not politically correct humor?? :rotfl:

EXACTLY! I love the Jamboree too! But I'm a sucker for all of the original/early attractions. :teeth:

Now I have to convince E to go. She's already agreed (begrudgingly) to the Tiki Room. She's refusing CoP but her mom and I can go. IDK if Country Bears will push her over the edge!

Ann - we need to pin down a time to meet up for just a bit. I know we started talking about a dis meet earlier in this thread, I believe... did we find a date?

Okay girls... I have a confession... I haven't actually seen Country Bears Jamboree... so are you saying I should sneak it in before Eddie's arrival and check it out?? :rotfl:
