So this is what mid-life crisis feels like? Dec 2011 PTR

12/19 Hollywood Studios

We are going to grab breakfast from the concierge lounge and attempt to make rope drop on this day!

Must do's for us:
Toy Story Mania
Rock 'n Roller Coaster (Nolan and I for sure...)
Tower of Terror - maybe... Erin's never rode, boys did when young and haven't been on it since... I love it though! :rotfl:

New must do's:
Art of Animation - my kids love to draw so I'm excited about this for them.

Again, a low key day. We do have an ADR that evening at Sci Fi. Idea is to go eat dinner close to park closing time and have a less crowded walk through of the Osborne lights when we depart for the evening! :thumbsup2

Then head back to the Poly and hang out. There's EMH at either Epcot or MK - can't recall right this second - but will offer to the kids to go if they aren't too tired. :goodvibes

Hey we have DHS on the 19th too. We have a lunch ADR at 50's Prime Time, but then we are headed over to Epcot for Biergarten and the Candlelight Processional for dinner.

I need to figure out when we will get to see Osborne Lights though.

Lots to celebrate at your house! Go Nate!

I am trying to figure out how to be low key at the parks...but still do it all! :confused3

I am hoping you get Erin on TOT...it is my favorite too!

It certainly won't be long. I can't believe Christmas decorations are up in the stores now....

I hope that Nate was proud of how he played!
I like the DHS plans! I have to get to packing too! Now that the major stuff is taken care of I can focus on Disney since my in laws supply Thanksgiving!

Please tell me you did not have to deal with these today on top of the earthquakes yesterday? I need to find out where the heck in Eastern OK you are so I quit worrying!!!

I'm alive and shaking it in Oklahoma... LITERALLY!

Okay... where to start... We have had ??? earthquakes in the past 4 days. Coupled with severe storms and tornados last night and Oklahoma has officially been donned the "Home of the Quakenado." Signs are popping up everywhere... :rotfl:

The very first one, I slept right though as did my family. However, Saturday night, in Stillwater, OK, we were in the hotel room and while Nolan and Nate had already crashed for the night, Eddie, Erin and I were awake watching the end of the OSU KState football game and shortly after game ended, our beds started shaking and we could "hear" the earthquake. That was definitely my first one in my 40 years of life but knew exactly what it was when it happened. There have been some aftershocks and I honestly haven't felt those. We then had another one last night en route home from Erin's basketball game. It was not as strong as the one on Saturday night (that's been our strongest) and we had an even smaller one about an hour ago. The county we live in is not on the fault line, thankfully, as the homes within the counties along the fault line are not faring too good - beginning to find cracks, etc as the earthquakes/after shocks continue. Some of these people have resided in these homes for 25+ years and didn't know they lived on a fault line. :sad2:

We did not have any tornadoes in our county last night either - severe rain/thunder/lightening/hail but all is well. Still raining and I think we are closing in on almost 5 inches of rain... much needed rain. :thumbsup2

Ironically - last night - Erin asked me for help on her science homework... they are studying plate tectonics... :rotfl:

Okay - Nate's game... they got beat. It was not their best game and the other team played very well. SO they are the 'runners up' which is still an accomplishment to get to that point so while he was disappointed, we are proud of him and his team. AND now we are just down to Eddie's football schedule... even though Erin's basketball season officially kicked off last night. ;) I should add they lost their season opener - she plays again tonight so maybe tonight will be their night. :goodvibes

My regular desktop pc crashed this weekend... thankful for my laptop... but it's going to make my school work a little bit challenging until I get it up and running. Just need to find the time to take it in to the computer doc and that will be good...

NOW - since this is a PTR and not the Day's of Amy... I just have to add a GREAT BIG :woohoo: for the fact that I'm in the
30's!!!

38 to be exact!! I just can't believe it! :dance3:

First and foremost, glad that you are all okay (I've been thinking about you even if I did not post). I'm glad you are getting much needed rain, but stay safe.

Sorry that Nate's team lost, but runner-up is not bad! Good luck to Eddie's team, and best of luck on Erin's season.

I can't believe you are at my age -- 38 -- until you go to Disney. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thank you Kathy! Don't really know what to make of the earthquakes and while it's been interesting, my heart goes out to those in our state that are being affected by them.

I'm just getting younger everyday according to my Disney countdown... :lmao:

glad to hear you're weathering (pun intended) the quakenado and that you're not on the fault line.

Sorry to hear about Nate's game. Good luck to Erin tonight. Sounds like the sports schedule might be tapering off a little, just in time for Disney!

Thank you!! Do you know we had an ADR for lunch at 50's Prime Time also on the 19th? I cancelled them just a couple of weeks ago...

I am glad you got through the quakes. That sound is a bit unnerving, isn't it? I didn't realize that big ones can make noise like that. It has been a while since we had a big one here...but when we had a 6.8... it rumbled something fierce.

congrats on being down in the 30's now!

So glad you are safe and sound...tornados and earthquakes?! YIKES!

Sorry about Nate's game...:sad2:

Glad to know everyone is safe and sound. Sorry about the game :( Least they got as far as they did!

We will have to exchange cell numbers. Then we can text on that day to see where we are...and if we can have a quick dismeet! :woohoo:

I agree. We need to set up a phone tree to pass around... maybe ill get productive today lol

First... YAY for the 30's!
I cannot believe that you guys had all of that going on though... WOW! Glad that your family is safe though!
And still I congratulate Nate for making it so far to begin with! His whole team should be proud of themselves for doing this! Good luck to your DH's football team! And maybe Erin's team just needs a startup to get back into the groove of playing well!

Thank you Ann! The sound was unnerving - that was the oddest part for me.. the bed shaking was really not that bad but the sound really stuck with me.

No worries on Nate's game... wanted to be disappointed but they didn't play well enough to win, you know? I was disappointed for him but hopefully give them something to strive for next year.

Glad to know everyone is safe and sound. Sorry about the game :( Least they got as far as they did!

Thank you, Ashley!!

We are safe and the weather has substantially 'calmed' and we even have great temps going on... high 60's through next week! My goal is to make our trip without the interference of snow so I'm hopeful winter weather will hold off until Dec. 25th and then let it snow let it snow let it snow... but not in the Texas Panhandle... we need Tammie to get her trip in! :goodvibes

Okay - quick family update... Tonight is Eddie's first play-off game... I'll let you know if I get my hubby back full-time or not tomorrow!! :goodvibes

Erin started basketball this week - I think I told you their first game was rough but the other two - they played very well and she's really developing into a good player. I got tickled at her last night - she's aggressive and is not beneath fighting for a ball... :lmao: But my funniest "mom" moment that we discussed on our drive home happened when she was shooting free throws. She'd been fouled and I need to add here that normally, there aren't usually cheerleaders at JH basketball games. The team they played last night did have them though. The other teams cheerleaders were chanting "Miss it" while she was shooting and I'm so thankful she held her concentration and made the points but after the second shot went in, she threw this horrible, daunting glare at the cheerleaders that made me want to crawl under the bleachers!!! :lmao: Then my mama leaned over and said "I know where she gets that from!" :rotfl2:

Can I just say I'm so thankful for a weekend at HOME?? I see it just around the corner... :goodvibes

:woohoo::banana::yay::banana::woohoo:

35 days!!

22 more work days!!!

5 more weeks!!!

I believe I'm on our 4th full day (day 5 of trip) which will be 12/20:

This is our Animal Kingdom day! And again, going to take it slow and just go with the flow. We do not have any ADR's this day so we will:

Grab breakfast in the concierge lounge
Hit rope drop at AK
Must Do's include EE, safari, Primeval Whirl (Nate is stoked because he's tall enough to ride finally), Dinosaur, and come heck or high water, we will see the Lion King show! We've not seen this yet and I'm not missing it this year. We will also see It's Tough to Be a Bug and I'm hoping to ride the train, and visit Camp Mickey/Minnie and meet some characters!

We will watch the parade and leave shortly after it ends. The evening/afternoon is open to whatever we would like. I think I will leave this in the hands of the kids. If they want to go to DTD, we will go. If they want to go to the resort, we will do that. If they'd like to revisit a park, then that's great, too!

The only stipulation I will have is that we are back to the Poly by 9:30p to meet Eddie who will arrive this night and be with us the remainder of the trip! :goodvibes

This will be our final day of "taking it easy." We will have been in all four parks and will hit them one more time, more commando style, so Eddie can take it all in!! :thumbsup2

I love that Erin copped attitude with the opposing team's cheerleaders. Kinda like "take that!". Awesome.

12/20 is our AK day too. So chances are we will see y'all there. And, if you've never seen FOTLK, it's a must-do. Since you're going to be there until the parade, you'll have plenty of time for everything, just make FOTLK your priority for sure. You'll be glad you did.

I think we are also going to try to squeeze Nemo in. We kinda got bored with it in 2008, but it was the title of my (defunct) trip report. Loved that my then-16- and 15- year old girls were walking around singing "na na na na na na na na - Do you MIND?!" for the rest of the trip. Great memories.
