So this is what mid-life crisis feels like? Dec 2011 PTR

Wow! I missed a lot of updates on your thread today. You deserve all that dancing for it being so close!

I wanted to do Country Bears, one of these trips I will. But I probably will never do Carousel of Progress again. The song gets stuck in my head all day and at points I repeat things back at the stage. Then again I do that at the Great Movie Ride too and I've only been on it twice. :confused3 Too bad I'll already be home and packing for my January trip by this point!

EXACTLY! I love the Jamboree too! But I'm a sucker for all of the original/early attractions. :teeth:

Now I have to convince E to go. She's already agreed (begrudgingly) to the Tiki Room. She's refusing CoP but her mom and I can go. IDK if Country Bears will push her over the edge!

And did you know that the tiki room is no longer "under new management?" I am super excited about this!!

Ann - we need to pin down a time to meet up for just a bit. I know we started talking about a dis meet earlier in this thread, I believe... did we find a date?

YES, we need to get a time. Do you still think you will be at Epcot on 12/21 or AK or 12/20??

Okay girls... I have a confession... I haven't actually seen Country Bears Jamboree... so are you saying I should sneak it in before Eddie's arrival and check it out?? :rotfl:

It is just a silly little show, but I find it funny. I would not skip it if I had not seen it...but that is me. You might find it too outdated. Still...singing bears..and singing about "stuff" :rolleyes1 :rotfl2::rotfl2:

that song... it does get stuck doesn't it!! Since my dh has never been on it... we have to go. Otherwise, I might avoid it just for the sake of steering clear of having it stuck in my head.

Bears though... I find endearing. That one I won't be skipping:goodvibes

Amy, LOVE the plans. My favorite time at the MK is when Main Street is empty and you get all those photo ops followed by puffed french toast and a visit with Pooh and friends.

I think your plans sound great for the party...enjoy the party atmosphere and all that it offers.

12/18 (Day 3)

This will be an early morning for us! We have an ADR at Crystal Palace for breakfast at 8:05a. I'm so excited to get inside the park and take advantage of some pre-park opening pictures! So I'm hoping to have the kids there by 7:40a. :thumbsup2

I am excited about doing the same thing...praying that don't change opening hours for either of us!

After breakfast, we will spend the day at Magic Kingdom. Low crowd predictions and I want to get our fill of the rides and attractions that we love so much here. It's probably easier to list the rides we have tried but don't really care for than the ones we won't... so that being said... we won't be experiencing Astro Orbiter, probably not Stitch's Great Escape unless the kids beg, and we will probably forgo the Country Bear's Jamboree.

I plan for us to grab a light lunch, maybe Columbia Harbour House, because we have a early dinner ADR at 4:40p at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. We've done this ADR before and we love it. I thought it would give us a nice break from Magic Kingdom before we return for....

I have this exact time at 1900 Park Fare...gosh to bad we were not going on the same day...we would have all day to be together including meals!

Mickey's Very Magic Christmas Party! I feel like because we will have been on most of our favorite rides, we can repeat the favorites but really enjoy the party atmosphere... the dance parties, parade, fireworks, character meets... I want it to be no stress and have a lot of fun! :rotfl:

Sounds like so much fun...I wish we could have arranged the trip during the times of the Christmas party, but sadly I just could not take the time off from work...

We will meet up with some of our friends from home at this party. I think I mentioned them earlier in the report. They decided to go to the party and it would be fun to spend an evening with them. :goodvibes

I hope to make it until midnight... I will have to guage my kid's moods on departure time but I do know we are definitely not leaving until after the parade and fireworks though. ;)

Crossing my fingers you can stay late...I have the full intention of getting up early and staying up late...but the kids are going be the judge of the staying up late...the getting up early is not OPEN FOR DISCUSSION!!! :rotfl2:

Another confession - haven't seen this one either but it is on the 'list of to do's'

YES, we need to get a time. Do you still think you will be at Epcot on 12/21 or AK or 12/20??

Yes - BOTH. I would say the Animal Kingdom day is more lax than the Epcot day. We are just kind of going with the flow on this Animal Kingdom day and have no ADR's - what about you?

Okay - I'm going to have to check it out... the "stuff" has me intrigued! :lmao:

Thank you Kathy! I'm getting more excited!! :goodvibes

:lmao: I want to do the up early, out late, too! I think I have one of three kids that might make it... but Erin would want to sleep in... Nate will want to go to bed. :rotfl:

We have an ADR on 12/20 for Yak and Yeti... 5:30pm. Park closes at 7pm so I figure we will be done about the time park closes. :scratching: I might have to see if I can get a later ADR.... Otherwise we will lose that little bit of time in the park. Maybe a 6:30 would be better? Anyway, sorry..thinking outloud. Would somepoint on 12/20 work for you? We will be eating lunch at Restrauntosaurus.....

And we might run into each other at CP! Yay for pre-park open ressies!

Yes! You tell me what you think fits in your day and we'll make it work. I had Restaurantosaurus or Flame Tree down for lunch (and either is great with me), and I know we will be there through the parade so let me know!:goodvibes

Sorry, Amy. The Rangers had our support throughout. :sad1:

I know! I was bummed for them, particularly after game 6. :sad2: But it was a great series! Unlike last year when the Giant swept them in four straight games. :headache:

On a positive note... Nate's team won their final play-off game to get in the championship today! It was a nail biter. We were actually behind 8-6 in the 4th quarter (proud mom moment coming so be forewarned) and Nate ran in the winning touchdown with literally 4 boys hanging on him. I need to get the video (minus my screaming) on youtube or something just to show you all who are so sweet to listen to me talk about my kiddos. :flower3:

So championship game next Sunday in Stillwater, OK coming up. The boys are excited because they get to play on turf, complete with jumbo tron, names on the jumbo tron... and I just wonder how many boys are going to get sidetracked during their game trying to watch themselves on the jumbo tron.... :lmao:

:cool1: Yay! I hope so! We'll have to figure that out, too, so we can say hello!

We could always pm #'s and try text and coordinate meeting up. Cause well probably be waiting in the early enterance line at almost the same time lol!

Sending the boys good thoughts for their game! Sounds like an awesome play to me. You were completely ok to have a proud mom moment lol!

We will have to exchange cell numbers. Then we can text on that day to see where we are...and if we can have a quick dismeet! :woohoo:

I am so far behind. But we have early dinner at 'Ohana on the 18th, then MVMCP. I bet we'll see you!

Way to go, Nate!!!!!! :cheer2::dance3::dance3::dance3:

I would love to see a video. And how cool is it that they get to go on the big field with the Jumbotron. :thumbsup2

Hello long lost DIS friends!! :wave2:

I've missed you all this week and I have a lot of catching up to do on your updates!! :grouphug: But I'm diving right in here directly!

First of all... I want to do a little bit of this :dance3: because today marks my "7 weeks", "31 more work days", "49 days" to go until we leave for our trip! :woohoo:

I also want to do a little bit of this  because trip is paid for and now I'm just waiting on my Mickey mail! :yay:

Enough dancing... need to post my next day plans for our trip! Coming right up! :goodvibes

I'll dance for you! A little late but...

:cool1::cool1::cool1::banana::banana::banana::yay::yay::yay::dance3::dance3::dance3:

I like the plans for 12/18! They are pretty simple and I like that... I am thinking that my MK day I am going to just make really simple because I can't come up with anything else for it!
YAY for Nate's team! That is so nice for them to get on the jumbo tron! It will probably be a great feeling for them! maybe if someone video tapes the jumo tron so they can see it later they will play and not think of it.... but then again who can pass up the chance to see themselves on a HUGE TV?

More dancing... and "next day" update...

5 weeks and 6 days! :dance3: OR 27 more work days :dance3:

OR

41 Days!!

I cannot believe how quickly it is arriving! SO much to do!

I just need to get through this weekend... Nate has his "Super Bowl" championship tomorrow and we are leaving here in a couple of hours to drive that way. And I've not even begun to pack! So this will be fast but I'm hopeful to do some major catching up late tomorrow night and through the week. Between finishing up Nate's season, Eddie's high school team still playing as well - they made it to the play-offs which start next weekend - and finishing up class... I feel so very scattered! But I think of all of you daily and wondering what's going on so I'm putting in this one common location of my thread that I hope everyone is doing great and getting as excited about their trips as I am!! :goodvibes
