So so disappointed :(

Being pregnant and having stomach issues of any kind is hard. And it sucks. If it is food poisoning, you'll feel better by Sunday. If it is a virus, you will still probably feel better by Sunday (or the worst will be over and you'll be able to eat lite fare). I would say that provided you are past your first 12-15 weeks, it probably isn't hormone related (not that nausea can not start later, but it usually doesn't). Also, everyone has stomach virus experiences and most of the time they are run of the mill 3-4 day viruses that aren't 10 days long. Take those to be the exception to stomach viruses, not the rule. If you don't start to feel better by tomorrow (Thursday) morning, go to your doctor. Better to be as proactive as you can before a trip and they can narrow it down for you and make sure it isn't hormonal. And if it is hormonal, they can give you a baby safe anti-nausea medication to have on hand.

Finally, unless you are going by yourself, don't cancel your reservations. You have 24 hours before each reservation to cancel so if you really aren't feeling well by Sunday, you still have time to cancel any buffets that might cost you $40 to eat nothing and the other table service restaurants will serve you just water if that is all you can stomach and your companion(s) can eat too. You'll want the air-conditioned break a meal provides while pregnant in sunny Florida at WDW. As for rides, you'll be able to ride all by the thrillest of rides. My favorite part of being pregnant at Disney World (twice and once with bad nausea the first 4 days) was getting to hang out shopping while my family rode the rides I couldn't. :)

I hope you get better soon and have a great week. I thought the only thing I could add was a list of place to get natural stomach calming items while at Disney in case you need them.

Epcot- In China they have a joy of tea stand- a variety of herbal teas are available as well as ginger ice cream that can calm down stomach issues
DHS- the Villains in Vogue shop has their hot beverages I believe they have tea as well as the hot chocolate and coffee

If ginger helps calm down your stomach you might want to try and get some candied ginger ahead of time and bring it with you to eat if needed (this is like and other dried fruit and easy to break off a little and put it in a snack size baggie to carry with you.

I'd think it was a virus over food poisoning as well. I've had the norovirus, it's awful!! You've got some time, I'm sure you'll be feeling much better by Sunday! I'd strongly considering calling your OB and getting a script for Zofran. It works wonders!

Step 1 - See your doctor. Step 2 - BRAT diet = bananas, rice, applesauce, toast. Step 3 - Super hydrate! I hate water when I'm nauseous but I can stomach lemon-lime soda, ginger ale and decaf diluted tea. Step 4 - Reduce stress as much as possible with every method you can find

I had all-day morning sickness for the first 5 months of my pregnancy. Doctor gave me Zofran. It made me horribly, painfully constipated so I had to adjust my diet quite a bit while on it. (Prune juice was so vile but effective if I could manage to get it down - I used a shot glass and held my nose and did shots of it)

I bet you'll be able to eat the cupcakes at BoG and that's the best part anyway!

Good luck!

Peppermint is also a natural anti-emetic. When I was pregnant I carried around peppermints. Hope you feel better!

I had a stomach virus while pregnant with my last, I was only about 10 weeks. I knew it wasn't morning sickness! Then my other kids got it. You should be fine by Sunday. Drink grape juice ( I would say red wine but your preggo) it is an old wives tale but something in red grapes kills stomach virus. If my kids get a virus I start drinking!! I haven't gotten one in years! That's sounds horrible hehe. If you are concerned I would visit with the doc to check you out.

Hope you feel better and enjoy your vacation!!

Thank you all for your kind words :) I am feeling a lot better today and didn't spend the night sleeping literally next to the toilet so that's a victory! :D

And everyone around me has said its morning sickness but I'm 10 weeks and have had no/very little nausea this whole pregnancy so why it would strike now is a little odd to me.

And thank you to all the suggestions. I went with Gatorade because I tried ginger and it just made me more nauseous :x

I wouldn't worry so much about it. Of course, looking at food menus will make you ill while you are still sick. Just relax, get better, and wait it out. Hope you are feeling normal when you leave Sunday. :flower3:

When I went two years ago, my wife was at almost exactly the same stage. She had a GREAT time.

The one thing I would say that hasn't already been said is that IMO, what makes Disney magical has very little to do with the food. The highlights are the rides, the shows, the parades and fireworks, the cast members, the characters, and the overall theming of the parks. Put it this way: I could not tell you if my life depended on it what I ate at BOG, but I can tell you about the amazing theming and decor, the nifty ordering system, and the petals falling off the rose. So I wouldn't worry too much even if you don't feel completely better (which it sounds like you are starting to anyway).

Have fun!

If you think you'll be sick that long you must see your doc. Since you are pregnant I would anyway. Then do what others said here and hydrate! You must hydrate to wash this out of your system. I highly doubt you'll be sick still on Sunday. You may be over stressing from being sick. :upsidedow

Most likely you had a virus. There's a horrible stomach bug that's been circulating around my office for a few weeks. Same thing--people pretty much bedridden for 3-4 days and unable to keep much of anything down. Glad you're feeling better. Have fun on your trip!

Glad you are starting to feel better! I can't speak for everyone but my morning sickness kicked in right at 5 weeks, and didn't let up until after 20 weeks. I wouldn't wish it on anyone! Ginger also made things MUCH worse for me. Even now I can't stand anything ginger!!

I agree with the others who say that you should be much better (if not "perfect") by Sunday. I had food poisoning once. For two straight days I spent half the time praying that I wouldn't die, and the other half praying that I would. By day three I could move about and drink broth. By day 4, I was 80% back to normal and by day 5, I was fine. And all of this while on vacation. I felt so sorry for the chamber maid who had to clean my room. I tipped very well! But if you are not feeling significantly better by day 5, you should see your doctor again.

Just another suggestion for you, maybe cancel all your ADR's and go with what you feel like in the moment. I've never had ADR's at the parks before and always manage to find delicious food. You may not feel like eating chicken right at 1130am one day...etc. Maybe not having things set will ease your mind a bit? Just a thought. Good luck and I hope you have a wonderful time!

YAY! :woohoo::woohoo:

It's too early to determine the gender of the baby, right? Usually morning sickness is more promanent in male babies due to some hormonal thing that clashes with the (female) mommy.
Awe, well at least you found liquids! Yeah, ginger doesn't help me either, but usually helps others. Me and you are in the Gatorade category! After my surgery, that was the only thing I drank!
I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and I hope all goes well

If it's morning sickness or even a stomach bug, for me the best "cure" is lemon Italian ice or a frozen lemonade. Lemon calms nausea and it will keep you from getting too dehydrated. lemon drops (the candy not the vodka shot) work as well.

Oh no! Our first trip to Disney, 3 years ago, my husband, 4 year old DS, and I all got food poisoning 5 days before we were leaving. I finally started to feel better the day we were driving down. Hopefully you'll be better in time as well. I saw that someone mentioned Zofran - my now-4 year old (who was 1 year old and escaped the food poisoning because he refused to eat dinner that night) got a stomach virus 15 hours before we left for Disney last month. I took him to the pediatrician, who prescribed him zofran, and he was fine the rest of the night and the whole drive there the next day! I was on it when I was pregnant with him as well, as it really was a miracle drug. If you're still feeling really bad on Thursday, I'd try to get to the doctor and see if they can give you some. Good luck and I hope you feel better in time!

My morning sickness didn't kick in until 8-9 weeks. It went into overdrive from 10-13 weeks. I lost 30lbs in 2 months. Because of it so it's entirely possible and not tht "odd" to develop morning sickness now. It might be worth a check in with your doctor before you leave. Glad you seem to be feeling better though.

(Sorry if this is just...down. I'm really really upset and it feels like the vacation of my dreams is going down the toilet, literally. I just need a place to vent where I knew people would understand my disappointment)

I planned our honeymoon for 2 years. We had a week between wedding and honeymoon cruise. By the time we embarked the ship I was up a cup size. By halfway through the cruise I had big blue veins in "the girls", I couldn't stand waistbands, and I was just different. 2 days into it I could just tell I shouldn't drink my much anticipated "mango tango" rum drinks or be in the hot tub, even though normal people wouldn't be able to tell by that time and would just do those things having NO idea what was going on. Sigh. By the time we disembarked I was up another cup size. I was passing out by 8pm every night on the cruise, and I'm normally a nightowl. DH was still a nightowl, so he spent hours every day of our honeymoon, alone or watching me sleep. :( It was SO disappointing. Not the baby part (though I strongly recommend to have the first year of marriage, which is among the hardest for many people, and THEN have the baby), but having all of my honeymoon plans, hopes and dreams just end. We nearly had to ask the steward separate the bed into two, because I was like a furnace and DH was miserably hot in the night because of me. Sniffle.

So I get it.

Step 1 - See your doctor. Step 2 - BRAT diet = bananas, rice, applesauce, toast.

What's always mystifed me is that the fruit portion of that does the exact opposite of what the BRAT diet is supposed to do.

And everyone around me has said its morning sickness but I'm 10 weeks and have had no/very little nausea this whole pregnancy so why it would strike now is a little odd to me.

It can start at any point. I was sort of sick early, then I just hated all smells everywhere but wasn't sick, just hating the world and my nose, and then in the third trimester I was nauseated (and acting on it) the whole time. It's scary throwing up like that in the third tri....

Anyway, it could very well be the pregnancy, because it can start at any time.
