Does anyone else feel this way? I am just so sick of spending money. I'm not even looking for any "cyber" deals today. I just am not looking forward to buying anything. I want to start saving more $$. With two small children it's hard because of Christmas, etc.

Anyone else just sick of buying things?

Yes. I feel like that every Christmas season as it seems that everything is geared toward separating you from your hard earned money ASAP. Everything is buy, Buy, BUY, BUY NOW! I get sucked into it and then wake up somewhat poorer. Luckily, I don't get too sucked into it for too long.

Not tired of shopping just yet

I'm just tired of seeing cyber deals for 50% off or "our best sale". They just raise prices higher than usual and then give you this "amazing" deal. I got a better price the week before just because the items were on regular sale and I had a code. Yet people go nuts off it saying 50% off!

Like two weeks ago an online store had a sweatshirt for 49.99 on sale. Now its 129.99 with 50% off and back-ordered. Another store has another shirt for 79.99 that was $29.99 a week ago. Now its 30% off for cyber Monday and you can't use a % off code because the 30% is a code. Glad I bought before the holiday sales started and got to use coupon codes on top of that.

I'm getting sick of it, too. Only have my sister left (who doesn't want anything, but still wants to exchange) and gift cards for teachers and bus drivers. Of course, that didn't stop me from placing an order with American Girls cyber Monday sale this morning... I'm really just getting tired of the crowds. Glad I'm almost done and wrapped, though.

But with me I haven't even started buying Christmas gifts! I'm sick of spending money throughout the year, I'm sick of having spent $400 on Thanksgiving dinner, just everything!

I am going to be slow and deliberate about the gifts I buy this year. I'm thinking of not using credit cards anymore, too. Just cash. That will keep my spending in line, I'm sure!

I'm so tired of spending money I don't want to spend! Things like repair bills and doctor bills!

$400 on Thanksgiving Dinner!!!! :scared1: How many people did you feed?!!!!

I'm not sick of spending money...yet. I hate the I-have-one-more-person-to-buy-for-and-I-have-no-idea-what-to-get-them-but-I-have-to-buy-something feeling. It's the pressure to spend money just so that I have a gift to give to someone. It's not that I don't want to spend the money. And it's not that I don't want to give a gift to that person. It's just that I have no idea what to buy them, that will fit their taste or their lifestyle. So I get resentful that I have to buy something just because it's Christmas.

I keep having to buy stuff to get ready for our vacation in a couple weeks and it's driving me crazy. I want to stop having to spend money and I want to save it! My life is sooooo tough I know, but dangit. :rotfl:

15 people but we had way too much left over.

OP- I'm in your camp!! And I'm only halfway through my Christmas shopping.... uuuuuggggghhhh.

Just not feelin' it this year- I don't know why. :confused3

I don't know yet if I am sick of spending money yet on Christmas as I have barely even started. With my kids getting older it makes it harder to want to spend more money on the higher priced items like the 3 items I just put on layaway over the weekend ( 2 ipod touch 8gb, 1 wii system) that totaled over 500.00:scared1: Now my husband is hoping he gets his bonus this year so we can get it off layaway. We are not ones that really spend money throughout the year on them other than what they really really need. But the main thing is when I think we are doing ok and we look like a little more money we can save it seems like that is when we need to stock up at the grocery store or all our bills start piling in all at once like last week when we had power bill, phone bill and 2 insurance's due all in the same week of Thanksgiving along with having to buy extra food for Thanksgiving meal at our church and extra food to prepare to take to families house. Then that makes us having NO money to be able to spend. My husband usually gets his bonus about 2 weeks before Christmas. I told him somebody needs to recommend that they give out bonuses the week of Thanksgiving so we can have the money to start shopping for Christmas earlier instead of having to wait until 2 weeks before Christmas. Thank goodness for Walmart layaway again.

You are absolutely correct on this one. I was on a very popular web site this weekend and they had a Cuisinart coffee maker (K-Cup) version that was going to be offered at a special price - count down was 2 hours away!! The price that was posted and was crossed out was $169.99. When it went up for purchase, that same price of $169.99 that was crossed out, went to $360 and the super sale price was $159.99.

I can get that same coffee maker at BB&B with a 20% off coupon for less than the $159.99. So be carefule everyone - not everything is a good deal!!

Since we just spent $4k getting my son's knee put back together I am sick of paying medical bills. I wish I could spend some money on fun stuff but can't afford to.

Yes. I feel like I'm hemorraging money. UGH.

I just sorted the kids gifts and discovered I'm two short for each of my boys (easier to shop for girls!). So, I'm off to walmart to finish that up and I'm done. I cannot wait, so I can get back into the savings mode. :)

I just started on Thursday and I'm sick of it, too... no wait, there's a special on Verizon... see ya...

I sometimes get that way around the holidays, but less each year as we've scaled back on the gift overload. This year was especially easy with each kid having one big thing on top of their wish lists and my mom & inlaws both having specific obvious wants for a change. I haven't felt like I was shopping just to shop this time - I'm checking things off that I know everyone really wants and that is much more satisfying to me.

:wave2: ME!! I am so tired of shopping. I think next year I am just going to sit down on Amazon one day and buy everything that I need and that'll be the end of it. I feel like I've been chasing deals for months.

We really dont buy much through out the year. It has been ok the last few years. This year we arent doing much for xmas as we are taking a cruise in Jan. But I did find clothes for my husband at the outlets for ridiculous prices. Dress shorts for 10 dollars each. Pants were 25. I bought him some jeans and some socks. I think in total about 100 for new clothes and got quite alot for the money. The shorts will last a few years.

We only need to buy for His brother and SIL. His mom and dad. And two grandkids. We might spend about 400 for the whole christmas. I find that a bargain.

I dont like spending money, I would rather save but sharing at christmas time is important but you dont need to go over board. Its the thought that counts. Besides there is a deeper meaning to christmas.

YES!!!
I am so sick of seeing the bank account sink a little lower:headache:
I have one of our parents, my SIL&BIL and two name draw gifts left. Oh.. and 4 gifts for the gift exchange game.
And then I am DONE. I promised myself I would be done by December 1st. I could be.. but the people left are the ones who I have NO CLUE what to get so I doubt it.
I did however save up 500 dollars in points from a reward program at a drugstore chain here. This weekend is the redemption event. So I am kind of looking forward to getting all the stocking stuffers and Christmas goodies there:)

mefordis, just can't understand how you could possibly spend $400.00 on a Thanksgiving meal for 15 . I had a 14# turkey with ALL the trimmings, casseroles, rolls, pies, drinks for $40.00 (turkey was on special with additional purchase and I bought on sale most items). It was to feed 12 people with lots left over. That is my budget for about 6 wks.!!!!!! And sometimes for two months!!!
