So Once AK Is Open At Night....

Trying to catch up on new info after being on hiatus for awhile. So, Rivers of Light is a hard seating show like Fantasmic (I was hoping for something more like Illuminations -- just finding a spot)? and probably no fireworks? May be disappointing, based on the float photos and storyline briefing I've found so far?

Looking forward to reviews of it.
Yes it's seating like fantasmic. No fireworks only lights, water, and fire. I think the show has great potential.

1. Nope.
But, there is much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much speculation about it.

2. Nope.
But, there are pages, and pages, and pages, and pages, and pages, and pages, and pages of speculation about it.

3. Could be.

4. It's never happened before.
Comparing it to when the other parks get their hours extended from earlier-posted calendar times...
the FP+ just become "available" and guests book them.

Gee Robo I wonder what thread you are referring to lol!!!

The large animal lanterns look beautiful! When they are lite up they remind me of stained glass. I saw a preview of these lanterns but I can not re call where. hopefully some one else will post the link.

THIS one?

I have always loved AK and made a full day of t. Near closing we normally head to a park with EMH for the evening. This will probably have us leaving mid day and coming back for the evening.

We will still open and close the park multiple times during our visit! We love it and now will love it more.
Now, I have to determine which other park to make my early night since my kids do need a few early nights during our stay :)

As a park hopper, I think it will still keep an AK morning, but will switch a MK/EP/HS night to being an AK night. If it's really going to be open as late as 11:30, I think that will make it the ideal park to do on nights where MK has the Halloween or Christmas Party.

It will be interesting to see how the extended hours play out and affect touring patterns over the next few months. Glad I'm not going til Nov- hopefully things will shake out by then. I do think it will affect how we tour. Usually we're there from RD til late afternoon. I can't see doing RD to close when that would mean a 12-14 hour day. We will likely still hit RD, tour til after lunch then go back to the resort for a break, have dinner, then hit the park's evening offerings. Or do 2 partial days: a morning/early afternoon day, and a late afternoon/evening day.

Yes this is the same with us, RD to late afternoon. AK was the one park we never did mid-day breaks and then returned to. Not sure how it will work out this year as everyone wants to see ROL plus we have FP+ for 6-7pm, which in the past we never would have been there for at that time of day.

It will probably turn into a 2-day park for us - it's borderline there now.
