So Much To Celebrate - LIFE and Sophie Kate!

So cute, but 3 for $50 is still to much for me. 6 for $50 I could do. Maybe.
You should be aware by now that I am a cheapo. :rolleyes1

Oct2012Pt1256.jpg

If you're a cheapo, I'm a cheapo with you. I had such a hard time picking out an ornament this last trip b/c I couldn't find one under $20! When we were there in December 2008, all ornaments were on sale for half off, so I picked up a ton for like $8 each. So it's hard for me to drop a 20-dollar bill on one!

Seth's flounder turned out pink and blue. :rotfl: He hasn't seen this movie yet b/c I only have it on VHS (we have a VCR in the bedroom but he doesn't really watch TV in there), and I can't wait for it to come out on blu-ray in October. He sees the Sebastian and Flounder commercials on Disney Junior, but he has no idea who they are. He actually sleeps with a plush Sebastian my sister gave him (along with a plush cow my grandparents gave him - we call them Surf and Turf :upsidedow ) so he will be thrilled to put a character with his little bedtime buddy!

GREAT picture! :thumbsup2

Awww, thanks! He died on July 1st of last year. Here's the post I had in my TR at that time, just so I don't have to type it all again.

We miss him dearly. His ashes are in a really pretty wooden box with his picture on the front on our mantel, and we think about him often. :goodvibes Ray wants to get another dog now but I want to wait another year. I don't want to be potty training Seth and house breaking a dog at the same time!

Thank you for sharing that post with me...I apologize for not keeping up with your TR. I sit here in tears because we shared the same birthday, go figure and what you wrote was so touching...RIP Sherman. ... he was a great dog!

Oh, don't apologize! I am the world's worst with keeping up with TRs. So I completely understand and didn't even think twice about it. Thanks for your sweet thoughts! :)

Last nights of trips are hard! I'm glad you got to say goodbye to the Poly, MeMom.

Any update on your kitty? I have been thinking about you. These cute little creatures sure have a way of making their way into our hearts. It's incredibly hard to lose a furry friend. I will cross my fingers and say a prayer that maybe there is something that can be done, even for a little while that will not break your budget. (((hugs)))

I have never seen Wishes from the Poly beach. How does it compare to seeing it inside the MK? I'm sad that this is your last night, but of course I'm excited to hear about your trip that is coming soon!

I hope you get good news from the vet.

What a lovely last night but a bit melancholy too...I can feel your sadness at leaving.

:grouphug: as you learn and decide what to do for your fur baby. My eldest isn't doing well and I'm playing ostrich a bit and haven't taken him back in to the vet but I need to. I am fairly positive his hyperthyroidism is back and I know what you mean about jumbled feelings.

Last nights are the worst at WDW. Thankfully you will be going back in the near future!

I'm sorry to hear about your cat. Peace be with you. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry about your kitty MeMom

I love movies on the poly beach. We did it twice last trip since we stayed there. Nice way to end a great disney day.

I really like that the resorts are doing the movies. It's something simple and relaxing to do away from the hustle and bustle of the parks, and even a movie you've seen many time before is cool when you are watching it on a Disney lawn or beach.

No more pets for me. I am glad I have had this guy to be able to understand the love one can have for a pet, but I would never want to do this emotionally again. I would like to have him cremated. This claustrophobic person can't stand the thought of him being buried under the ground. I would probably just spread his ashes in the yard.

I hope Little Mermaid becomes a favorite. Brooklynn went through a phase a few years ago where she watched it nearly every day.

The ornaments are cute as can be! $8.00 is a much more reasonable price. :thumbsup2

In my head, I am saying goodbye to the restaurants, the signs, the buses, the monorail..... If people could read my word bubbles, they would think I am :crazy2:. :rolleyes1

We love watching fireworks from Poly. You get to see the whole display spread across the castle and the sky so much better than from up close. Plus, you can spread out and have some space. I prefer watching them from Poly, myself.

My camera works overtime the last night and day of a trip. ;)

We will be back there Friday! Yay!!!!

*************************************

Here is the update on my cat.

First of all, he does have an 'official' name for paperwork, and that is Tux, because he is a tuxedo cat. He is never called Tux, however. Jill and the girls usually say Kitty, Trent and I usually say Buddy, and Drew usually says Crazy Cat.

I talked with the doctor this morning. He said he is not eating or drinking, but that can be common for cats when they are in hospital care. He wants to try to force feed him some today and see how he handles it. Then, he might want him to come home tonight to see if he will eat and/or drink at home in his normal environment. His liver is not good, and his blood sugar is high. After a night at home, depending on what report I give about the eating, we can discuss further options. He said pretty much all he is doing is sleeping, as he was doing at home for the last couple of days. If I do have to put him to sleep, I want him to have his last night be at home and not at the clinic.

I thank you all for your kind thoughts and your prayers. He has lived a good life, and I don't want it to end slowly and with pain. He has been loved and spoiled, and he has taught me how to have a special compassion for animals. I am sad for Drew, because he loves this cat as much as he has ever loved anything in his life. He's going to be a sad young man, if this is the end. That's one reason it is important for me to have this all settled before I leave, if possible. If the doctor thinks the cat will be fine for a couple more weeks just sleeping and not being in any pain, I am okay with just letting him come home and dealing with anything when I get back. It might help Drew let him go if he sees that all he is going to do is sleep for what life he has left. I would want to be sure that the cat is and will be in no pain during the time I am gone, though. I will keep you posted through the next few days.

Love all the resort pictures. We have yet to take a night time swim even though I absolutely LOVE the look of the lighted up pools at night time. We just always end up closing the parks down, and coming back to the room completely spent. :sad2:

So sorry about your kitty! DH and I got a cat when we first got married (I actually got him while we were engaged). He moved from Illinois to Tennessee with us. He ended up going into kidney failure too. It is incredibly heartbreaking to actually see them deteriorate before your eyes. Such a helpless feeling. Wishing you and your fur baby the best, MeMom. :goodvibes

Hi memom. I am so sorry that you are going through such a difficult time with your little cat. They become such a big part of your life don't they. We have 3 cats, 1dog and a guinea pig. I love them all dearly and know that I have 5 lots of pets heartache ahead of me over the coming years. You will know what is right for your little cat :grouphug:
On a lighter note, I am still loving your trip report and sad it is coming to an end. Wishing you and your lovely family a wonderful upcoming holiday.:yay:

:grouphug: as you go through all this sadness with your kitty. I hope and pray that things go smoothly for all of you!

MeMom i am so sorry to hear about your sick kitty. I'm sending you a hug. It's so difficult when a beloved pet gets sick. We have been through it many times so i wanted to send you some love, hugs and support. You will know what to do when the time comes. We are all here for you!

Both my kids shared some sense of loss when it was time. Each in their own way but he was around most of their lives.

We have all worked through most of it and are moving forward.

Yes I have one more. Psycho cat. She will go with Jennifer when she moves out. I already told her that.

I also cannot do any more animals. The past 6 months have been really hard on the animal front and I just don't want to do it again.:sad1:

Thanks for the update MeMom. I hope that Tux (aka Buddy aka Kitty aka Crazy Cat) will eat and drink some when he comes home. I pray that his last days/months/years will be at home, where he belongs; with his human family. Lots of warm thoughts to you all!

Back from the Cruise and all caught up! :thumbsup2

In the ME bus, we stopped to drop off people at Art of Animation and it looks SO nice. In December I might take a walking tour over there. You guys are going to have a great time there, and at Vero!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet kitty cat. I'll be praying for peace for him, and peace in decisions for you. I haven't experienced issues yet with my dog but I am dreading when that day comes, as I know it will be hard. Whatever decision you make, you're doing it from a place of love for him and a desire that he not suffer, so in that spirit any decision you make is the right one.

So sorry to hear about your kitty. I hope he gets to come home and be in familiar surroundings. It is so hard. I had many traumatic childhood animal experiences. I have hesistated to have a pet for the boys yet.
I hope you can go and be happy with your girls. Cannot wait to see pics on FB.
Thanks for all the tips for St. Pete. We are wanting to go to the baseball game and we are going to check out Ft. DeSoto park. It looks great.
Well, I have other news. I have decided not to purchase VGF. It just does not seem financially the right thing to do. We go the paperwork but I did not sign. I am kind of upset with our guide too. He was not honest with us about the points and use year so that made the decision easier. I would rather look for a resale and get more points. It is crazy how expensive they are at VGF.
Have a good week!

Hugs and prayers for you MeMom

We did go and get him. They left his IV in so that they can hook him back up tomorrow, if needed. I guess I will just report to the doctor in the morning, and then he can decide if he is good enough to make it here until I get back and then go from there. If it is not bad enough to let him go immediately, I'd just as soon let him stay at home until it gets to that point. Drew can take him back to the vet if he needs to while I am gone. He did take a couple of nibbles of food, but he was not interested in water. He has just laid around. I am glad he is at home for the night. We'll see how the night goes. So much indecision right now - I don't much like it.

Katie, so glad you are having an awesome trip! Are you still going to be there when we get there?

oopsiDAISY, you ought to give a night swim a try sometime. I bet you would love some nice, relaxing time before calling it a night. We used to go full speed, but we have come to have and appreciate more down time.

Even though shopping isn't really my thing, I have enjoyed every time I have been into Days of Christmas and Once Upon a Toy! :goodvibes

How can you top a final night visiting the Poly and watching Wishes from the beach there...........:cheer2: Of course that is always better when you throw in some wings and an adult beverage from the bar to go with it........ :rolleyes2 ::yes::

Sorry you are facing such a tough decision with Tux! I know this is very difficult and I hope his final days are comfortable for him and leaves you all with nothing but wonderful memories!!!

I hope you have a great trip! I have really enjoyed following along on this one, and can't wait to read about the next one when you get back!!! :thumbsup2
