I am at Disney at least 4 trips a year, sometimes 5, usually for 4-5 night stays. I am 3 hours away by car so I always drive there and have my car with me. I have an AP and am DVC, so I can park free at any of the parks. But despite all that, I use Disney transportation about 99% of the time...and whenever possible, I try to use non-bus transportation whenever available just because I find it more interesting and relaxing - boats are a strong favorite, skyliner and monorail are both fun too. If busses are all that's available, they're fine also. I like the convenience of letting Disney get me there, I like that often the Disney transportation options can get you closer than self-parking can, and even traveling from resort to resort the wait for a bus, or transport to Disney Springs can be balanced out by not having to find a parking spot and walk in from far back in the lot.
The rare few times I'll use my car would be for a dinner res, or meeting people for entertainment that might run late, so as not to have to rely on a late bus to Disney Springs then another bus to my resort. To stay timely for a dinner res I might take my car - especially if I decided to valet at my home resort since I'm already paying the daily valet fee that's good for any other DVC valet location. I've often driven to see the Yehaa Bob later show since we sometimes hang afterwards and chat or get snacks, so being able to drive back from there is definitely convenient at nearly midnight.
But I'm definitely a big fan of sticking to Disney transportation - or walking if I'm staying near a park. I'll be at Boardwalk in 2 weeks so I'll have easy walkability to 2 parks and skyliner, walk, or boat to 8 other resorts. I'll have my car and likely will valet as I'm heading there with a friend who hasn't been to Disney in about 9 years - so we do plan on visiting Yehaa Bob, and will probably drive to AKL for Jiko dinner one night...those will be the only two times I foresee taking the car.
