Thank you, Dan - we must never forget,
and how I feel for the post'r that does
not want to.
I posted last night on a thread about
the horrible attacks on the children in Russia,
but after reading the posts here I wanted
to say it again, here is a portion:
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
... I need to make myself remember
- AMERICA NEEDS TO MAKE ITSELF REMEMBER -
that this is what our war really is about,
and I'm not talking about Iraq,
and I'm not intending to make this political,
I'm talking about the Muslim extremists that hate our
way of life, that hate anyone who tries to change
their law, or stop it from being implemented
- even if their law is not wanted by the people.
Because that is where their mindset is...
These evil men & women have twisted their own beliefs,
they hide behind the Koran
(and I speak of terrorists - those who intend harm -
not your innocent neighbors & friends).
These evil villains claim victory by the blood of children.
THEY ARE COWARDS!!
I spent 7 months as a volunteer at Ground Zero,
I held countless strangers, all New Yorkers,
as they wept and gave me the priviledge
of praying for them.
I feel their tears on my neck now, I feel their
grip as they hug me back and won't let go.
I smell & taste the stench that coated my
throat & my sinuses for 5 days, when I could
finally smell & taste food again.
I walked the interior of Ground Zero many,
many nights, while the fires still burned,
and I served the firefighters & police officers
of that great city - I WILL NEVER FORGET THEIR
FACES, I WILL NEVER FORGET THE OVERWHELMING
SADNESS, I WILL NEVER FORGET THEIR ANGER...
America has no idea of the real impact
9/11 had on that city and the surrounding
communities.
How many marriages were destroyed?
How many children turned to drugs?
How many suicides?
The answer to each question is: MANY.
I know whereof I speak...
We must protect ourselves, and we must protect
this great country for future generations.
Please don't ever forget how STUNNED the
ENTIRE WORLD was when we "fell."
Yes, some were jubilant, but in all seriousness
there were dozens and dozens of countries
large & small that tasted the real fear that
if this could happen to America, then who
is NOT vulnerable?
And I will not forget the words of our
Jewish friends in Israel - they mourned with us,
but on 9/12 gave this warning:
You are now like us - Anytime, Anywhere, to Anyone.
The world MUST remember what these
terrorists are capable of, what their intent is...
I'm not talking about Americans holding onto
or giving into hatred, that's what the terrorists want.
They are energized by it.
I'm talking about "once burned, twice shy,"
and "fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice,
shame on me."
Anger is a God-given emotion.
The emotion itself is not a sin, it's what you do with the
anger that matters, and we cannot stand
idly by & hope we can "work it out" and
"lets find out why they hate us & try to make friends."
How can you negotiate, and why would you,
with people who not only kill children but
torment and torture them?
And in case you haven't heard just how evil
these men & women in Russia were to the children...
... I feel the need to share the
following, and it is only a small portion,
but it reveals how evil the cowards
that invaded that school were:
The terrorists made mothers choose
which child they would take when they first
let 30 hostages go.
When the mothers said they wouldn't leave any
child behind, that they would stay, the terrorists
told them that if they didn't leave with one
child they ALL would be killed immediately.
The mothers had to leave their screaming children behind...
Children fainted from the heat, and were
forced to drink their own urine.
The terrorists killed 10-20 people right off
(can't remember exact #), and then brought
in one corpse and held it up for the children
to see, and told them & their mothers that
if the children made a sound they would be killed.
Bodies of children riddled with bullets were
found in the gym where they had been kept hostage.
There are at least 80 more children in grave
condition lying in Russia's hospital beds right now,
this is not including the other, less threatening
injuries.
The official Russian line is that there were less
than 500 people taken hostage,
but at least one eye witness said there were
closer to 1,000 women & children, because
the first day of school is a festival.
Edited to update count: Russia today said there were 338 killed, 428 hospitalized, and 260 still unaccounted for.
155 children are dead tonight,
killed by cowards...
Countless more have lost their mother/aunt/sister,
and lay in beds waiting for the pain to end.
If I have offended, please forgive me.
I know my diatribe is choppy, it's late...
I do not hate anyone on this earth,
I want everyone to know that God loves
them & has a wonderful plan for their life.
But He does not suffer fools or evil lightly...

And to our German "friend,"
We ask God to bless America because those of
us who believe in the God of the Bible recognize
that He is the One who makes or breaks nations.
And before you or anyone else gets angry that
I would dare invoke God on behalf of my country,
YOU can ask Him to help your own country, too!
We don't own the monopoly on God,
and we don't own the monopoly on arrogance!
We ARE a great nation, and we LOVE our country!
If that makes us arrogant, so be it - but I would
hope that you as a German would feel proud of
your country and work to make it stronger, as well
as the French, the English, the Japanese, etc...
And those who love God pray for ALL PEOPLE,
but as Americans can't we put one, small post
on a vacation board and pray for our nation
without being called arrogant?
Would you call your neighbor arrogant if
on the anniversary of his loved one's death he
prayed for their family and not yours?
And to the post'r who called this "harping,"
I am so sad for you... I am so sad for any victim
who reads that...
And just in case you missed something,
the war on terror has not ended,
we are STILL TARGETS - just ask the children in Russia
